"I need to make a pit stop."
Aurelia looks over at Peter as she starts the engine with a slight frown. "No, you don't." She retorts and he tilts his head briefly.
"Yes, I do."
"No, as far as anyone else is aware you're in a coma so, you can't have anything happening that would require a pit stop." Aurelia says.
"Right, well, I still need to make a pit stop." Peter says and she frowns.
"Oh, my God. I'm gonna kill myself." Derek mutters and Aurelia sighs, looking between the two of them.
"No, I think we should just go home." Aurelia says.
"We can. After we've been to the high school." Peter says.
"We definitely can't go there. There was a lacrosse game tonight. Tons of people." Aurelia says.
"I'm aware. We still need to go there." Peter says and she stares at him for a moment before sighing.
"I'm waiting in the car." She says.
"I don't know if-"
"I'm waiting in the car." Aurelia cuts Peter off and he sighs as she pulls out of the parking space.
"Do you have to drive?" Derek asks after a minute.
"Don't you start." Aurelia says impatiently.
"I just don't feel very safe." Derek says.
"You know what won't feel safe? Hitting the tarmac if you don't shut up." Aurelia says.
"That didn't make sense." He says.
"Fucking hell. I'm gonna kill myself."
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Aurelia idly taps her fingers against the steering wheel as she types out a message to Nancy one-handed. "Aurelia, what are you doing here?" The brunette looks up from the steering wheel with a frown before she sees Freya.
"What am I doing here? What are you doing here?" Aurelia retorts.
"I came with Noah to watch Stiles' game." She says and Aurelia frowns.
"But Stiles doesn't know yet." Aurelia says.
"No. But he was supposed to. He was going to tell him earlier and then you turned up ranting about his text messages being asinine. And now Noah has to work back up to telling him. So, thank you for that." Freya says.
"Oh, oops. Well, it's probably for the best because Derek was literally behind Stiles' door and that sounds like a 'sit down and talk' conversation." Aurelia says and Freya hums.
"Anyway, what are you doing here?" Freya asks.
"I don't want to answer that." Aurelia responds.
"Why?"
"Because you're gonna be mad at me." Aurelia says and Freya narrows her eyes at her as Aurelia glances at the school briefly. "Okay, so I, maybe, have been lying a little. About where I've been and what I've been doing."
"Aurelia, you're twenty-six. If you're seeing someone, you don't have to lie about it." Freya says.
"Yeah, uh, so, important piece of information. When Derek got hurt the other night and I didn't come home until the following morning, I was testing a theory and I was right. Uh, I know who the Alpha is. I figured it out a while ago." Aurelia says.
"Okay, what does that have to do with why you're here right now?" Freya asks.
"Because it's Peter. And I've kind of been helping him." Aurelia says and Freya stares at her for a moment. "Yeah, with that. Yeah."
"So, when Noah said he thought the person with Derek looked like you,"
"Yeah, I was already at the school with Peter and then I got dragged along by Derek." Aurelia says.
"Helping him kill a chemistry teacher?" Freya asks.
"Well, you make it sound bad when you say it like that." Aurelia says.
"It is bad, Aurelia!" Freya retorts incredulously and Aurelia shrugs a little.
"Everyone he's killed, except Laura, had something to do with the fire. In his and my defence." Aurelia says.
"Oh, you know what. I don't want to know anymore. I would like plausible deniability. I'm leaving. Don't tell me anything else." Freya says.
"You don't have plausible deniability anymore. I just told you pretty explicitly that I'm helping him murder people." Aurelia says.
"I didn't hear that. I haven't listened to a word you said. I'm leaving. I don't want to know. I- Not interested." Freya says before walking away and Aurelia hums.
"Well, that could have gone worse. Also could have gone better but I'll take it." She mutters before looking back at her phone to finish the message.
She doesn't look back up until Derek and Peter walk over to the car and she starts the engine as they climb in. "What did you guys do in there? Do I wanna know?" Aurelia asks, glancing at them.
"Uh, no, probably not." Derek responds and she hums before shrugging a little.
"Freya was here?"
Aurelia turns to look at Peter with a confused frown at that question. "That's still weird. Don't do that. Either of you, for a matter of fact." She says, glancing between them both. "But yes. She refuses to be involved and doesn't want to hear anything about any crimes that may or may not be committed." Aurelia says.
"Wait, was that an option?" Derek asks and she looks at him dryly. "I just would have liked to know that was an option in advance if it was." He adds and she stares at him. "Okay, I feel like it isn't."
"If the two of you keep annoying me, I'm making you walk. And when you get arrested, I'm not bailing you out." Aurelia says.
"What did I do?" Peter asks.
"You know what you did." She retorts. "Oh and we're making a pit stop at my house."
"No, why?" Peter asks.
"Because if you get to make unnecessary pit stops then so do I. Deal with it." Aurelia retorts and Derek groans in the backseat.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
"Wait here." She instructs as she pushes her car door open.
"You're serious?" Peter asks.
"Yes, I'm serious. Don't be an idiot. Wait here. I'll be two minutes." Aurelia says, pushing the car door shut again and he sighs, shaking his head.
Derek and Peter sit in the car in silence while they wait for Aurelia to come back and Peter had resorted to looking through the book he knew was still in her glovebox. "Oh." Derek says, a hint of a laugh slipping through and Peter frowns before looking up.
"No." He says when he sees Aurelia walking back over to the car with Arlo and she just raises a brow at him. "Absolutely not."
"Derek, move over." Aurelia says and the werewolf nods with a hum as she leads Arlo into the car.
"Aurelia," Peter starts as she holds out a bag towards him expectantly.
"Nobody's here tonight. I can't leave him alone. Deal with it." She says with a shrug.
"Not on the furniture." Peter says, taking the bag from her and she just stares at him. "Oh, for fuck's sake." He mutters and she smiles slightly triumphantly as she slides back into her seat, pulling the car door shut.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Aurelia sits on the sofa with her legs crossed and a book balanced on the arm of the sofa, ignoring Derek and Peter and their staring contest, instead just idly scratching the top of Arlo's head as he lies with it in her lap. They hadn't said a word since they got back to the apartment so she was just leaving them to it until one of them broke it. Aurelia tilts her head a fraction as she turns the page, shifting slightly so she was sitting more comfortably. "Are you gonna say anything?" Derek asks and Aurelia looks up when Peter doesn't respond, frowning when she realises the question had been directed at her.
"Why would I be- You're both adults. You can have a conversation without supervision or assistance. You know that, right?" Aurelia asks.
"You suggested this." Derek says.
"I said let's not stand in a hallway over an unconscious nurse. I used common sense." Aurelia retorts. "I know that's a strange concept to you, but I do have it and exercise it frequently."
"Frequently?" Peter asks and Aurelia looks at him for a moment before hitting him with her book. "Okay, ow. But I deserved that."
"Look, I feel like the biggest priority currently is specifically Kate and I think we can all agree on that, can't we?" Aurelia asks, looking between them.
"Right." Derek says and Aurelia nods.
"So, can we prioritise dealing with her and you guys can have a bitch fight afterwards?" Aurelia suggests.
"Even if it means killing Kate, I can't just ignore the fact that he killed Laura." Derek says and Aurelia sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose.
"Derek, if you're not going to actually consider listening when we try to offer an explanation for that, you're going to have to." Aurelia says and he sighs impatiently. "I'm not going to continue repeating myself if you won't listen."
"You can't expect me to just sit here and take 'it was an accident' as an explanation? She was my sister. She was your niece. She was our Alpha." Derek says.
"She stopped being my Alpha when she left. An Alpha doesn't abandon their pack, Derek. Not like she did." Peter responds. "Aurelia's been the only pack bond I've had for a long time and you know that. You have to." He says.
"Doesn't mean I can just ignore you killing her." Derek says.
"Then what are you doing here?" Aurelia asks and he looks over at her. "You could have left. At the hospital. Nobody was out there to stop you. When you walked out to wait at the car, there was nothing stopping you from just leaving. You could have left with Stiles. You didn't have to stay, you didn't have to come with us. So, that is such a big obstacle for you and you are so adamant you're not willing to ignore it, even for long enough to kill Kate, then why are you here?" She asks.
Derek stares at her for a moment before sighing. "Fine. Just for long enough to deal with Kate." He says.
"And the rest of them." Peter says.
"Just Kate." Aurelia amends.
"And the rest of them."
"No. Kate. Full stop."
"Okay, or, and hear me out. Kate, comma-" He pauses briefly with a frown. "The rest of them. I don't know any of their names. I'd list them if I did."
"Kate. Full stop. Three of the others are kids." Aurelia says.
"Well, if they didn't want their kids to die, they shouldn't indoctrinate them." Peter responds.
"Kate's daughter is actually the only one who was raised a hunter. And of the other two, only one of them even knows." Aurelia says.
"They're still hunters." Peter says.
"Yeah and that's the kind of logic they use to justify what they do." Aurelia retorts. "If we turn around and kill all of them for one person's actions, then we're not better than them." Aurelia says. "It's bad enough we're making one kid an orphan. We don't need to strive for full on decimation of an entire family. We'll deal with Kate, when Gerard turns up, we'll deal with him. And then if and when the others try anything, we'll deal with it then." She says.
"Why would we wait for them to try to kill one of us when we can prevent it entirely?" Peter asks.
"Because they've done nothing to justify it. Peter, I don't care about killing someone but I'm not doing it without a reason. And they're hunters isn't a reason. Their name isn't a reason. I'm not pinning Kate's actions on her kid or the rest of her family. That'd be like pinning the blame for Richard's actions on me." Aurelia says and he sighs.
"Well, now that you've played the Richard card, I can't argue with you." He complains.
"I know, that was the point." She responds with a shrug. "So, Kate and then Gerard."
"Okay, we could probably do with more help." Derek says and they both look over at him.
"Why?" Peter asks.
"Well, traditionally, packs should consist of more than an Alpha, a beta and a witch." Derek says.
"The only other werewolf in town is Scott and I don't think he'll be up for it." Aurelia says.
"Yeah, even less so after earlier." Peter remarks.
"Why, what did you do earlier?" Aurelia asks, looking over at him.
"Don't worry about it." He responds and she narrows her eyes at him briefly.
"I'd ask Nancy but she doesn't want to get involved in Beacon Hills." Aurelia says.
"Who?" Peter asks.
"Oh, she was my roommate at college. She's a born werewolf. She lives in San Francisco with her husband. He's human, though." Aurelia says. "Plus she's got a lot going on with family at the moment."
"Yeah, I just meant Scott. And Jackson wants to be turned last I heard." Derek says and she scrunches up her nose.
"Do we have to?" Aurelia asks.
"Aurelia, stop picking fights with people. Especially teenagers." Peter says.
"He's David Whittemore's son. He's just unfortunate collateral. Plus, he's a bully." Aurelia says.
"Plus he bullies Scott and Stiles specifically." Derek amends.
"No." Aurelia says and Derek looks at her pointedly. "Shut up."
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
"Stiles, what do you want me to do about it?" Aurelia asks impatiently, offering Arlo a piece of cheese as she puts everything away.
"Well, I don't know but Jackson's going to do something stupid and that could get everyone involved killed." Stiles complains.
"So, stop him." Aurelia says.
"Well, that's what I want you to do." Stiles says and she puts him on speaker, placing the phone on the counter beside her bowl.
"What am I supposed to do? I cannot go around threatening random sixteen-year-olds, Stiles. I can threaten you and maybe Scott because Noah and Melissa expect it and particularly with you, it's necessary and deserved most of the time. I don't think David Whittemore will appreciate me threatening his son and I do not have time to go to court over it. Which he would definitely do out of pure spite if given the chance." Aurelia says impatiently as she grabs her fork, offering Arlo another piece of cheese as Peter walks into the kitchen.
"Stop feeding him from the counter while you eat. Then he sits there while I cook." Peter complains and she scrunches her nose up at him, pointedly offering Arlo another piece of cheese and Peter sighs impatiently as she stabs at her food.
"Look, I'm not getting myself sued because you're too much of a wimp to deal with Jackson yourself. Besides, I really cannot get sued right now because Peter can't legally practice law and the only lawyer I trust from Richard's old firm is on his honeymoon with his fourth wife." Aurelia says.
"What happened to his third wife?" Peter asks, turning to look at her and she frowns.
"Uh, somebody slept with somebody's CrossFit trainer, I think." Aurelia says. "He's been with Carla for a year and a half now. I skipped the engagement party but I went to the wedding. I took Nancy, she wanted the free food. Don't blame her, it was good food. Okay cake. John wanted to hire Freya to do the cake but Carla wanted to hire some fancy, stupidly expensive professional cake decorator or something. I don't know, he went on a whole rant about it when I was saying hello to be polite and I stopped listening half way through. But he was in the middle of a big case around the wedding so they've just managed to go on their honeymoon." Aurelia explains and Peter hums.
"Are you two finished?" Stiles asks impatiently.
"Are you still complaining about Jackson? Stiles, get Scott to slam him into a wall with a little werewolf strength. He should have enough common sense to be a little scared and back off." Aurelia says.
"And what if he goes to his father or the police?" Stiles asks.
"Okay, Stiles, I can't solve all your problems for you. You're going to have to learn how to solve them yourself eventually." Aurelia says.
"You're causing this one!" Stiles exclaims incredulously and she sighs impatiently.
"Well, what are you doing now?" Aurelia asks.
"Following him." He says.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, we're following him to make sure he stays out of trouble."
"Stiles, are you driving?" Aurelia asks.
"Yeah, it's fine. Look, he's just turned down some strange alley and Scott thinks he can hear or smell Allison's Dad, so, either you turn up to help or we might die and you won't know. Up to you." Stiles says before hanging up and Aurelia looks at her phone incredulously.
"Huh." She looks over at Peter with a frown. "No, it just sounds exactly like something you'd do." He says and she narrows her eyes at him before getting up.
"I'll be back in ten minutes. Don't let Arlo eat my salad." Aurelia says impatiently as she grabs her phone.
"You have no idea where they are. He said 'some strange alley'. You can't teleport to 'some strange alley'." Peter points out.
"I'm going to kill him and then you. For pointing that out when I'm already annoyed." Aurelia says and he nods.
"Yeah, sounds about right."
"But Stiles has his location turned on and shared with me. Especially right now." She adds and he nods. "Shut your face. Shut it."
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Aurelia teleports into what she knew was a relatively quiet area where nobody should see her nearby to where Stiles apparently was before sighing and ducking out of the alley to head towards them. "Everything okay here?" Aurelia asks when she sees Scott leaning out of the window and looking at where Chris was standing with Jackson by the latter's car.
"Everything's just fine. He's just having a little car trouble." Chris says.
"Wasn't asking you." Aurelia says. "But, my brother's a mechanic, so, I can take a look and call him." She says, walking over to the car, gesturing for Jackson to move over to the Jeep and to his credit, he actually does move out of the way. Aurelia glances down at the car before grabbing the fob, subtly holding it out to the hunter. "You can go." She says lightly and he stares at her for a moment before taking the fob and moving away from the car as Aurelia pushes the hood shut.
"Thanks, Lia." Stiles says when the hunter drives off and she turns around, looking from the two boys and then to Jackson.
"Your car's fine. Try not to get cornered by any more hunters. I don't have time to keep saving your sorry ass." Aurelia says.
Jackson stares at her for a moment before turning on Scott and Stiles as they both climb out of the Jeep, asking, "What, are you following me now?" aggressively and Aurelia just rolls her eyes in response.
"No, you're welcome." Aurelia remarks dryly.
"Yes, you stupid freaking idiot! You almost gave away everything, right there!" Scott exclaims exasperatedly and Aurelia frowns, glancing at Stiles as she mouths 'stupid freaking idiot?' and the boy just shrugs a little in response.
"What are you talking about?" Jackson asks.
"He thinks you're the second Beta!" Scott says.
"What?" Jackson asks, clearly annoyed.
"He thinks you're me!" Scott snaps, hitting the Jeep and Aurelia frowns a little.
"Dude, my Jeep." Stiles says.
"I can hear your heart beating from a mile away, literally! Now he thinks that there's something wrong, and now I have to keep an eye on you so he doesn't kill you too!" Scott explains angrily before turning to swing at the Jeep again and Aurelia recoils a little when Stiles immediately moves forwards to grab him.
"Woah, hey, maybe don't grab angry werewolves." Aurelia says, gently separating the two as she moves Scott away from the Jeep.
"Just, how about we step away from Stiles' Jeep?" Stiles suggests from where he's standing behind the Jeep.
"How about we all just use our words?" Aurelia suggests.
"You know what, this is your problem, not mine, okay? I didn't say anything, which means you're the one that's gonna get me killed, okay? This is your fault!" Jackson snaps, shoving Scott into the side of the Jeep.
"Can we stop hitting my Jeep?" Stiles exclaims and Aurelia pinches the bridge of her nose when Scott shoves Jackson backwards.
She was never having kids. This settled it.
"Okay, that's enough of the petty little bitch-fighting. Both of you back off." Aurelia says, moving between the two boys before Stiles can.
"When they come after you, I won't be able to protect you. I can't protect anyone." Scott says, glancing at Stiles where he was still standing behind Aurelia.
"Why are you looking at me?" Stiles asks.
"You know what? Now you have to do it." Jackson says after a beat and Aurelia looks between them.
"Do what?" Aurelia asks.
"Get me what I want, and I will be fine protecting myself." Jackson says.
Okay, well now she was even more sure in her 'anti-turning Jackson' stance she'd taken.
"No, you won't! Just trust me, all it does is make things worse." Scott says.
"Oh, yeah, really? You can hear anything you want and run faster than humanly possible. Sounds like a real hardship, McCall." Jackson remarks.
"Yeah, I can run really fast now, except half the time, I'm running away from people trying to kill me! And I can hear things like- Like my girlfriend telling people that she doesn't trust me anymore right before breaking up with me. I'm not lying to you! It ruins your life." Scott says.
Aurelia understood where he was coming. She did. She really understood why he felt that way and was so definite about it. But she couldn't help but take a little offence to how certain he was that being supernatural was so terrible. Because that was the message hunters spent their entire lives pushing.
"It ruined your life. You had all the power in the world and you didn't know what to do with it. You know what it's actually like? It's like you turned sixteen and someone bought you a Porsche when they should have started you out with a nice little Honda. Me? I drive a Porsche." Jackson says.
"Yeah, well, you have fun driving that Porsche right off a bridge. I'm not saving your ass next time." Aurelia says and he glances at her and Stiles before walking over to his car.
She hated to admit it, but part of her agreed with Jackson just as much as she agreed with Scott. She didn't for a second think he had any right to be as arrogant as he was about it but he'd made some pretty reasonable arguments.
"Are you two okay if I go?" Aurelia asks, glancing at the two of them.
"Yeah, thanks, Lia." Stiles says and she nods a little.
"Try not to run into any more hunters. Whether it's accidentally or because you're saving someone's stupid ass. Jackson wants to get involved, just let him find out where that'll get him the hard way. He seems real determined to find out." Aurelia says.
"Don't know if that's the right message to spread." Stiles remarks and she shrugs.
"I was in the middle of lunch. I'm not impressed that he interrupted. And odds are, Arlo's eaten it now." Aurelia retorts and he nods with a hum.
"Okay. I don't think your priorities are great but okay." Stiles says and she hums.
"Stay out of trouble." She says before disappearing.
"That's still weird." Scott remarks.
"Super cool, though." Stiles says.
"Yeah, but weird." Scott agrees.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Aurelia glances up briefly from her book when Peter walks into the room, sitting on the other end of the sofa before looking back down as Arlo climbs off the sofa, moving to lie on the floor beside her, making Peter roll his eyes. "He doesn't like werewolves. Just be grateful he hasn't bitten you." Aurelia says idly without looking up.
"Again, you mean." Peter says.
"Oh, please. That was playful. He never even broke skin. And he's an adult German Shepherd. If he were really biting you, you'd know." Aurelia says, turning the page of her book.
"Derek was right. We are going to need Scott's help at least." Peter says after a moment.
"I told you, you're never going to get him to agree to that. He doesn't like you. He doesn't like Derek. He does however like Allison Argent. He's scared of her family but that doesn't seem to matter very much if Allison smiles at him." Aurelia says.
"Right, so, what if we don't approach it peacefully?" Peter asks.
"Uh, if you use Stiles to threaten him, I'll kill you." Aurelia says.
"No, I know. I'm not stupid or suicidal." Peter says and Aurelia hums.
"I don't know where you're going with this. As long as you don't hurt or directly threaten anyone I like, I don't care what you do. Just run any murder by me first." Aurelia says with a shrug.
"So, if I take Scott's mother to dinner to convince him I'm going to turn her to get him to join the pack?" He asks and she snorts in amusement.
"Yeah, you do that. You let me know how that goes." Aurelia says with an amused smile.
"I'm serious." Peter says.
"Yeah, I know. That's why it's funny." Aurelia says, shaking her head a little with an amused hum. "Oh, dear." She mutters lightly with a soft laugh.
"You're incorrigible." He says.
"I'm no longer amusing your use of that word. Not until you tell me what it means and if you're insulting me." Aurelia says.
"You know a normal person would have just looked it up." Peter says.
"Yeah, probably." Aurelia responds, turning the page of her book. "Have fun at dinner." She says, glancing up at him briefly and he narrows his eyes at her.
"Now I'm just doing it in spite of you." He says and she hums, nodding a little.
"Good luck."
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
"Did you give Peter the go ahead to ask out Scott's mom to get to him when he asked you?" Derek asks, walking into the room once Peter leaves and she looks up.
"Yeah. He wants to try stupid half-assed plans that are guaranteed to fail, who am I to stop him? Why?" Aurelia asks and Derek stares at her for a moment.
"You don't realise why he ran it by you?" Derek asks and she frowns, shrugging a little.
"Everyone seems to keep running stupid ideas by me. Everyone also seems to need my help or permission to do anything." Aurelia says.
"You're an idiot." Derek says and she frowns at him. "Wow, that is fun to say to you when I really mean it. I never get to do that." Derek says.
"Why am I an idiot?" Aurelia asks.
"Because that is so clearly not why he ran it by you first. And if I have figured that out and you, especially as a telepath and empath, haven't. Maybe you should just give up." Derek says and she hums.
"I'm trying this thing. I'm trying to exclusively focus on one person's thoughts to drown out everyone else's. So, I'm focusing on Chris Argent because then I know what the Argents are planning and it has the added bonus that he thinks so goddamn loudly that it helps to drown most other people out. It's like he shouts every goddamn thought. It's infuriating but I've decided to just take advantage of that." Aurelia says with a shrug.
"Even without your empathy or telepathy, you should know." Derek says and she frowns again, shaking her head a little. "I'm too happy about this. I'm gonna go bully Jackson." Derek says and she frowns.
"Have fun, I guess?" She says and he nods before walking out of the room, patting her arm as he leaves. "What is it with people today?" She mutters, looking back down at her book.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Aurelia stays on the sofa with Arlo climbing back up into the open space now that Derek and Peter are gone and she doesn't look up from her book until her phone rings. She glances to the side, grabbing her phone from the end table behind her, answering it without looking. "Hello?"
"Lia, hey, uh, crazy shit is happening." Stiles says and she hums. "No, actually, one crazy singular thing."
"Stiles, get to the point please." Aurelia says.
"You know Peter?" He asks and she pauses, raising a brow briefly.
"Do I know Peter? You know, I hope so or I have no idea who's sofa I'm currently sitting on." Aurelia responds.
"Right, yeah, okay. He's taking Scott's Mom out for dinner. To like, get Scott to join the pack." Stiles says.
"Oh, yeah, I know. It's kind of a stupid plan, so I'm just letting him play it out so he can see how stupid it really is. He wouldn't hurt her because he knows I'd kill him. And maybe if this fails, he'll realise why I insist on being the one to make the plans." Aurelia says.
"Okay, so, you okayed him asking her out to dinner?" Stiles asks.
"Yeah? I'm not his keeper." Aurelia says.
"Lia, I'm not crazy in thinking that this guy is Derek's Uncle, right?" Stiles asks and she shrugs.
"No?"
"Right, so, didn't we sit and have a whole conversation about you and him and about how you might have been a thing if it hadn't been for the fire happening?" Stiles asks.
"Yes, what's your point?" Aurelia asks.
"That. That is my point. If the two of you were apparently kind of a thing, why don't you care that he's taking her out for dinner?" Stiles asks.
"Why should I? One, just because we were then doesn't mean we are right now. Two, he's not brought it up once, so, that's fine. And three, he's taking her out to dinner as part of a plan to convince Scott to join his pack and help fight the Argents. But if he wants to date Melissa, he can. It's not my place to get involved. It's not like I haven't been with people since the fire." Aurelia says with a shrug.
"But you haven't dated anyone." Stiles says.
"That was my choice. Stiles, it hasn't got anything to do with me. I'm not going to make a deal out of it. Because what may or may not have happened previously isn't worth losing someone as a friend over." Aurelia says with a shrug.
"You're weird. That's odd." Stiles says.
"It's called being mature, Stiles." Aurelia retorts and Stiles hums.
"Are you gonna come and help me stop him or not?" Stiles asks.
"Stop him from taking her out for free food? Hey, regardless of his intentions, I don't know anyone who would complain about being taken out for dinner. And he will pay. Like, plot to get to Scott or not, he won't let her pay or split the bill. So, really, who's it hurting?" Aurelia asks.
"You're not helpful. You are so very unhelpful that it's insane." Stiles says and Aurelia hums.
"I'm sorry?" Aurelia says.
"Yeah, so you should be." Stiles responds and Aurelia rolls her eyes with an amused smile.
"Goodbye, Stiles." Aurelia says pointedly.
"No, but like, if I do something, what should I do?" Stiles asks.
"I don't know. What do you want me to say? Drive into the back of the car?" Aurelia suggests.
"Oh, wait! That's a genius idea! Thank you, talk to you later!" Stiles says.
"No, Stiles, I was kidding!" Aurelia says.
"Bye, Lia!" He says.
"Stiles-" She sighs when he hangs up, pulling her phone away from her ear to look at it. "Ah, shit. Yeah, that one's on me. That's one hundred percent my bad." Aurelia says with a nod. "Yeah. Oh, I should probably go and stop him." She glances at Arlo when he plants his head on her lap, staring at her and she sighs softly, resting a hand on the top of his head and gently scratching behind his ear. "Yeah, okay, I'll leave them to it. Melissa can handle Stiles. I'll only get the blame if I turn up."

Aurelia glances over the back of the sofa when the front door opens and she rests her chin on her arm on the back of the sofa. "Hi. Have any luck?" Aurelia asks with an amused smile.
"Shut up." Peter says before walking off and Aurelia snorts in amusement before looking back at her book.
"How's your neck?" She calls and she hears him pause before making his way back to the living room. "Stiles called me for help. I made a joke without thinking he'd actually go through with it."
"I hate you." He says and she nods with an amused smile. "You're a nightmare, genuinely. Even if it's accidentally, why do half of the things you do make my life more difficult?"
"I would never want your life to be too boring. Someone's gotta keep you on your toes." Aurelia responds and he hums.
"I'm not making dinner for you tonight." Peter says.
"Wh- Hey! That's not fair. I didn't mean to give you whiplash." She complains.
"I don't care. Fend for yourself." He says before heading back down the hall and she hums a little before glancing over her shoulder.
"Peter?" She calls, waiting for a moment before continuing. "Can we have enchiladas?" She looks down the hall for a moment, waiting for his response as she idly taps her fingers against the back of the sofa.
"Give me half an hour." He responds after a moment.
"Thank you."
