[I MISS YOU, I'M SORRY]

1.11 || just gonna rebound and kill her

.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.

Aurelia walks out to the lacrosse field, muttering under her breath about the fact that Stiles was likely making her trek all the way out there to deal with Jackson and/or Lydia when she needed to be dealing with Scott. She looks up before pausing a little when she sees Stiles and Peter standing on the lacrosse field with Lydia on the floor. "Oh, I guess the text message was justified this time." Aurelia says.

"He attacked Lydia." Stiles says immediately, pointing at Peter and Aurelia glances at him dryly.

"Yes, I can see that. Thank you, Stiles." Aurelia says and he shrugs a little. "What the fuck are you doing here?" Aurelia asks, looking back at Peter.

"I said I had a plan." Peter responds with a shrug.

"This was the plan?" Aurelia asks incredulously, gesturing at Lydia briefly.

"This was part of the plan." He says and Aurelia stares at him for a moment.

"You're grounded. I'll look for Derek." Aurelia says and Peter rolls his eyes. "I'm not kidding."

"I know. That's the ridiculous part." Peter responds and Aurelia narrows her eyes at him briefly before kicking his shin. "Ow."

"You're not allowed to make plans for this exact reason. What do you mean your plan was mauling a teenager and then kidnapping Stiles?" Aurelia asks.

"I haven't touched him." Peter says.

"I said you were shit at making plans, I didn't say you were braindead." Aurelia retorts and he hums.

"Do you two want five?" Stiles asks.

"No!" Both of them respond at the same time.

"I'm doing what you asked me to do. I'm finding Derek. Stiles here has an idea." Peter says.

"I don't care what Stiles has. He could have the cure to cancer for all I care. I would still be pissed off you didn't come to me before including him." Aurelia snaps.

"Technically you just specified I couldn't hurt him. You said nothing about involving him in plans where his involvement was entirely harmless for him." Peter counters and Aurelia kicks his shin again. "Okay, you get one more of those and then I'm gonna start stopping you."

"Wait, you set rules? Who else did you involve?" Stiles asks, looking at Aurelia and the witch glances at him briefly.

"You and Scott." Peter says before Aurelia can speak and she glances at him briefly. "Can we get a move on now please?" Peter asks.

"Where are we going?" Aurelia asks.

"To find Derek." Peter responds.

"We can't just leave Lydia here."  Stiles says and Aurelia glances at Peter briefly, tilting her head a little towards Stiles and Peter frowns slightly at her in respond. "What are you doing?" Stiles asks as Aurelia looks at Peter pointedly before the Alpha rolls his eyes, nodding his head a little.

"Call Jackson and then we'll go." Aurelia says to Stiles and Stiles looks between them both with a slightly bewildered expression.

"Did the two of you just have an entire conversation with facial expressions?" He asks.

"Call your friend before my patience runs out." Peter says and Aurelia looks at him impatiently as Stiles fumbles slightly with his phone to pull it out. "I'm letting him call his friend. That should be more than enough leniency considering you're the one that wanted me to look for Derek." He says.

"You're a werewolf! You've been one your whole life! I thought you'd look for him as a werewolf!" Aurelia argues.

"This is faster." Peter says.

"You've been gone all day and you've gotten nowhere!" Aurelia exclaims.

"I had other things to do simultaneously." Peter counters and she narrows her eyes before kicking him in the shin again. "What was that for?"

"You said I had one more and you're being an asshole." Aurelia says.

"Okay."

.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.

"Oh, uh," Stiles starts as Peter opens the passenger side door of the Jeep and Peter raises a brow. "No, it's just uh, Lia sits in the front when she's with me. It's like a rule." Stiles says and Peter sighs impatiently.

"I'm gonna take my car. So we can go find Derek after and you can go. You can follow us." Aurelia says.

"I'm gonna ride with Stiles." Peter says.

"Peter," Aurelia trails off when he looks at her pointedly. "Jesus, try not to kill each other." Aurelia says.

"Are you serious?" Stiles asks.

"It's fine. He's not going to hurt you." Aurelia says.

"Oh, like he hasn't hurt Scott?" Stiles retorts.

"Not since we had the conversation. I've only known since the night at the school, Stiles." Aurelia says and Stiles stares at her for a moment before climbing into the Jeep and slamming the door shut.

"Aurelia," Peter starts quietly.

"Just get in the car so we can get this over with." Aurelia says before walking over to her car and Peter sighs.

.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.

Aurelia climbs out of her after parking a few spaces away from the Jeep before rushing slightly to keep up with Stiles and Peter as she looks around at the parking garage in confusion and then at Peter's clothes. "Hey, what are you wearing? That's not what you left in this morning." Aurelia says and Stiles glances at her incredulously. "Sorry. New question. Why are we in a parking garage?"

"Because we're going to a car." Peter responds.

"I don't appreciate the tone." Aurelia mutters under her breath as they stop by a car and Peter fishes a set of keys out of his pocket.

"Who's car is this?" Stiles asks as Aurelia watches Peter with a confused frown.

"It belonged to my nurse." Peter responds.

"What happened to your- Oh, my God!" Stiles exclaims as Peter opens the trunk and Aurelia looks down as he lifts the nurse's arm to grab the bag under it, handing it off to Stiles.

Peter looks between Stiles and the body before shrugging a little and nonchalantly responding with, "I got better" before closing the trunk.

"Are you kidding me?" Aurelia asks.

"Yeah, I know. We'll talk about it later." Peter responds as he takes the bag back and starts setting up a laptop on top of the trunk.

"Good luck getting a signal down here." Stiles remarks as Peter hands him something from the bag. "Oh, MiFi. And you're a Mac guy. Lia hates Apple." Stiles remarks.

"Because they suck." Aurelia retorts.

"Yeah, you've mentioned that. But does that go for all werewolves, or just a personal preference?" Stiles asks and Peter glances at him slightly impatiently as he shifts back.

"Turn it on. Get connected." Peter instructs.

"You know, you're really killing the whole werewolf mystique thing here." Stiles says as he starts typing. "Look, you still need Scott's username and password, and I'm sorry, but I don't know them." Stiles says.

"Wait, what are we doing?" Aurelia asks. She'd never actually asked what the plan was.

"Derek has Scott's phone. We're using the GPS to find him." Peter says.

"Oh, right, of course." Aurelia responds.

"But, you know both his username and password." Peter says, glancing at Stiles.

"No, I don't." Stiles says.

"Even if I couldn't hear your heartbeat, I would still be able to tell that you're lying." Peter says.

"Dude, I swear to God-"

"Hey!" Aurelia says when Peter pins Stiles to the trunk of the Jeep with a hand at the back of his neck before ducking between them to push Peter backwards. "No. Hands to yourself." Aurelia says, forcefully pushing him backwards when he doesn't immediately let go.

"Either you make him do it or I do." Peter says.

"Okay, just," Aurelia says, gently nudging him backwards before turning back to Stiles when he steps away. "You okay?" She asks and Stiles nods, straightening out his shirt. "Look, don't help him. Help me. I'm really worried about Derek." Aurelia says gently and Stiles glances at her briefly, making her frown a little.

"Fine." Stiles says after a moment and Aurelia nods a little, shifting back out of the way and Peter moves back in between them both as she stands more to the side of the car. "What happens after you find Derek?" Stiles asks.

"Don't think, Stiles. Type." Peter instructs.

"You're gonna kill people, aren't you?" Stiles asks.

"Only the responsible ones." Peter responds.

That reminded her, she should probably mention what Nike had said to her.

"Look, if I do this, you have to promise to leave Scott out of it." Stiles demands and Peter sighs.

"Do you know why wolves hunt in packs?" Peter asks. "It's because their favoured prey are too large to be brought down by one wolf alone. I need Derek, Aurelia and Scott."

"Aurelia's not a wolf." Stiles says.

"No, but that doesn't mean she's not pack." Peter responds and Stiles glances at the witch.

"Maybe if you'd actually let me try to explain a few things to you, you'd know that." Aurelia says with a shrug.

"Scott's not gonna help you." Stiles says.

"Oh, he will. Because it'll save Allison. And you will, because it will save Scott." Peter says and Aurelia glances over at the two of them briefly. "Your best friend whom you know so well, you even have his username and password."

Stiles sighs for a moment before pulling the laptop forwards slightly and starting to type. "What?" Aurelia asks when Peter frowns at the screen a little incredulously.

"His username is 'Allison'?" He asks and Aurelia raises a brow as Stiles keeps typing. "His password is also 'Allison'?" Peter asks incredulously as he glances at Stiles and Aurelia snorts lightly in amusement.

"You still want him in your pack?" Stiles asks, looking at the werewolf and Peter rolls his eyes, glancing at Aurelia who just shrugs a little. "Wait, what the- That's where they're keeping him? At his own house?" Stiles asks incredulously and Aurelia glances at the screen again briefly before looking at Peter when he glances over at her, shaking her head a little.

"Can't be in the house. She's stupid but she's not that stupid. There not exactly anywhere hidden in a burnt down house. It doesn't even have a whole roof." Aurelia says.

"That's because they're not in the house." Peter says after a moment.

"They're under it." Aurelia realises as Peter closes the laptop.

"Excuse me?" Stiles asks.

"We know exactly where he is." Peter says before looking sharply to the side. "And we're not the only ones." He says lightly. "We need to go." Peter says and Aurelia nods as he puts the bag with the laptop in the backseat of Jennifer's car before looking to Stiles. "Give me your keys."

Stiles sighs as she looks at him before fishing them out of his pocket. "I'd rather Lia drove but if she doesn't then she grinds in second." Stiles says handing them to the werewolf and Peter just grips them tight, bending them all before handing them back.

"So, you're not gonna kill me?" Stiles asks and Peter steps back towards him. "Oh, God."

"Don't you understand yet? I'm not the bad guy here." Peter says.

"You turn into a giant monster with red eyes and fangs, and you're not the bad guy here?" Stiles asks incredulously.

"I like you, Stiles. Since you've helped me, I'm going to give you something in return. Do you want the bite?" Peter asks and Aurelia glances at him briefly.

"What?" Stiles asks.

"Do you want the bite?" Peter asks. "If it doesn't kill you, and it could, you'll become like us."

"Like you."

"Yes, a werewolf. Would you like me to draw you a picture?" Peter asks dryly.

"Kinda." Aurelia mutters and he glances at her pointedly. "Sorry, not the time. I'll ask later."

"That first night in the woods, I took Scott because I needed a new pack. It could've easily been you. You'd be every bit as powerful ask him. No more standing by his side, watching him become stronger, and quicker, more popular, watching him get the girl. You'd be equals. Or maybe more." Peter says, grabbing Stiles' arm. "Yes or no?"

There's a pause and then just as Peter goes to bite him, Stiles wrenches his arm back towards him and Aurelia exhales softly in relief. "I don't want to be like you." Stiles says.

"Do you know what I heard just then? Your heart beating slightly faster over the words 'I don't want'." Peter says. "You may believe you're telling me the truth, but you are lying to yourself. Goodbye, Stiles." He says before turning to Aurelia and she holds out her keys.

"Go pull the car up out front." She says.

"Aurelia,"

"I would at least appreciate the illusion of privacy, please." She says and Peter sighs before taking the keys off her. "Thank you."

"Don't be long." He says before walking off towards her car.

She waits until she sees him pull her car out of the parking space before turning to Stiles. "I'll give you the money to replace your keys, okay?" She says.

"You're really gonna help him? You're gonna go help him kill people?" Stiles asks.

"Look, I don't expect you to understand-"

"Explain it to me." Stiles cuts in.

"I don't have time for that right now. I wouldn't be helping him if I didn't think it was necessary. You know that, right?" Aurelia says.

"I'm not sure I do right now, no." Stiles responds and she hesitates a little.

"Are you going to the hospital?" She asks after a moment.

"I'll walk." Stiles says and she falters slightly.

"Stiles, I can-"

"Are you kidding me? No." Stiles says.

"Stiles, he's not going to hurt you." Aurelia says.

"And I'm just supposed to believe that?" He asks and she frowns.

"What? Don't you trust me all of a sudden?" She asks.

"Honestly? Not right this second. Not when you're about to go help an Alpha werewolf murder people." Stiles says and she stares at him for a moment.

"Right, okay." Aurelia says softly. "I'd say text me if you need me but I guess you probably won't do that. I'll drop off the money for your keys in the morning. I have to go." She says before walking past him.

Stiles hesitates slightly with a sigh before turning around. "Lia," He starts.

"No, it's fine. Need to get to Derek anyway. The less detours the better." She says without stopping and Stiles scrubs his hands over his face.

She walks outside, stopping briefly when she sees Peter standing beside the car before walking over to him. "I don't want to talk about it." She says.

"Aurelia," Peter says gently.

"I really don't want to talk about it." She repeats and he gently grabs her wrist to pull her over to him.

"I'm sorry." He says quietly and she sighs softly.

"No, it's not your fault. This is exactly the reason I never wanted him to know to begin with. I'd have liked to have been wrong once." Aurelia says.

"Ah, you've been wrong plenty of times before." He says and she tilts her head a little.

"You've actually gotten less comforting and empathetic, I think. Which, you were already terrible at both so that's actually impressive." She says lightly and he rolls his eyes briefly. "Can we just go rescue Derek's dumb ass and kill Kate and I'll be grumpy about it after?" Aurelia says and he hums softly.

"Okay." He says and she nods a little before moving to step away.

"I need you to let go so I can drive. And no, you can't drive, you don't have a valid licence." Aurelia says.

"One more thing before we go?" He asks and she raises a brow briefly.

"Is it important? Because we probably should get to Derek as quickly as we can." Aurelia says before letting out a slightly surprised hum when he suddenly leans down, kissing her, sliding a hand up to gently cup her jaw. She hesitates a little when he pulls back without letting go of her and she gently messes with the edge of his jacket. "Okay."

"Okay?" Peter asks.

"Shut up." Aurelia mutters and he rolls his eyes briefly. "You've had plenty of time to do that. Why are you doing it when we need to save your stupid nephew from getting murdered?" Aurelia asks.

"Seemed like the right time." He says.

"You're stupid. Derek must get it from you." Aurelia says.

"Yes, because that's exactly how that works." He responds and she hums.

"We should probably go." She mutters after a moment.

"Everyone can wait two minutes." Peter responds.

"Yeah, you hope." Aurelia retorts and he hums, rolling his eyes again. "If we're gonna keep standing here for a little while, can I ask you something?"

"If it's something stupid, I'm leaving you here." Peter says and this time Aurelia rolls her eyes.

"What was the actual plan? Like before the Fire. When was this actually going to happen?" She asks.

"Honestly? I was waiting for you to bring it up. But I figured it'd be after you went to college." He responds and she stares at him.

"You were waiting for me to bring it up? You really are stupid. That never would have happened." Aurelia says.

"Yeah, I was realising that. So, probably after college." He says and she nods a little.

"Yeah, that's what I figured. This wasn't the best time. It's fine, just not your best plan. Derek's being tortured somewhere." Aurelia says.

"Scott knows where he is." Peter responds.

"That does nothing to comfort me. Absolutely nothing." Aurelia says and he hums briefly. "I can't believe you killed Jennifer without me." She mutters.

"Oh, for the love of God." He mutters.

"The one thing I asked." She continues.

"The one thing?" He retorts and she shrugs. "I'll make it up to you."

"Hmm, you can try. I'm not happy about it."

.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.

Aurelia glances at her phone when it rings before picking it up from the cupholder and handing it to Peter when she sees the unknown number. "Answer that for me." She says.

"I kiss you once and now I'm answering phone calls for you." He mutters.

"I can talk on the phone and drive if you'd like." She says.

"No, you focus on the road. I refuse to die in a car crash." He says and she rolls her eyes as he answers the phone. "Hello?" She glances at him briefly when he lowers the phone. "It's for you."

"Well, I figured as much, it's my mobile, you idiot. Who is it and what do they want?" Aurelia asks and he raises the phone again before repeating the question.

"They won't tell me who they are and they want to talk to you." He says and she huffs impatiently.

"Oh, for the love of God." She mutters before taking the phone off him. "Yes, hello, what?" She asks, gesturing at the gearstick with her elbow.

"Aurelia, hi. It's Kiki. Uh, I thought you'd want to know that my Uncle is currently attempting to intimidate Stiles into answering his questions. We're in the hospital. In the morgue." Nike says and Aurelia sighs.

"Oh, my God. Jesus. Okay, I'll-" She hesitates, glancing around briefly. "I'll be right there, I guess. I've just got to pull over somewhere." Aurelia says.

"Okay, cool." Nike says before hanging up.

"Five seconds. Five seconds without getting kidnapped is not a difficult task to complete." Aurelia says incredulously. "Fuck, uh, okay, I'll park the car at home and teleport because it'll be faster. I guess. I'll go, yell at a hunter and then come back and we can head up to the house." Aurelia says.

"We probably shouldn't try driving up there in your car anyway." Peter remarks and she inclines her head a little.

"Yeah, that's a good point. I don't need to get it out of the mud after." She says.

She parks the car in the drive before turning the engine off and grabbing her phone. "I'll be five minutes, okay. Just wait here." She says.

"Yeah, five minutes." He says and she nods a little as she climbs out of the car before disappearing.

.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.

She reappears in the morgue immediately grabbing Chris' arm to forcefully turn him to face her before hitting him. "Oh, shit!" Nike says quietly behind her.

"Last I checked, he was human. Both of them are. So, what the fuck are you doing?" Aurelia snaps. "You wanna pick a fight with someone, I'd love to. Go ahead."

"He wanted to know where Scott is." Jackson pipes up.

"Huh. Tell you what. I'll tell you where Scott is. But only if you tell me where your sister is." Aurelia says.

"What does she have to do with this?" Chris asks.

"Oh, she has everything to do with this. And if you're oblivious to that, then you're even more of an idiot than I originally thought you were." Aurelia retorts.

"She's on her way out of town." Chris says.

"Yeah, that's likely." Nike mutters under her breath just behind Aurelia.

"Bullshit." Aurelia responds. "Listen to me," Aurelia starts, stepping towards him. "You don't have moral high ground. You don't have any kind of high ground full stop. I came in here to see you and your buddies harassing and physically assaulting two sixteen-year-olds. How do you think that's gonna go down when I go and tell his father, the Sheriff and his father, the lawyer? Hmm? Your sister is a homicidal, raging bitch and the only thing that makes you better than her is the fact that you didn't set a family on fire while they slept. I don't care what you believe happened that night, I know what happened that night. I know your sister was there. I know she caused the Hale Fire." Aurelia says.

"We have a code." Chris says.

"If you people really had a code that kept the innocent safe, then the Hales would be alive, my Grandparents would be alive and my mother would be alive. And I'm sure a lot of other people would still be alive too. You know a hunter killed the Hales. You know your sister was in town at the time. If you still say she didn't do it, you're lying to yourself. And you know it." Aurelia says. "I'll tell you where Scott is. Where Derek is. Where the Alpha is. Where Kate is. But all you'd be doing is going down there to watch your sister get what she deserves. After she killed an entire family. And after she kidnapped Derek Hale and likely tortured him after the fact. So, what would you like to do? Go and watch your sister die or go home blissfully ignorant like you have your entire life?" Aurelia asks.

"Where are they?" He asks.

"Where do you think? Where all this started. At the Hale House." Aurelia says with a light shrug and he nods a little before walking over to the door to unlock it before storming out with the other two hunters right behind him. "Thank you." Aurelia says quietly to Nike when she hesitates slightly on her way out the door and the girl nods. "How'd you get my number?"

"I have my ways." Nike responds with a shrug before walking out into the hall.

"Left you alone for five minutes and you get kidnapped again. Try to last a little longer this time, would you? I have to go before Peter gets bored of waiting." Aurelia says, glancing between Stiles and Jackson.

"Thank you." Stiles says and she hums.

"Stay out of trouble, both of you." Aurelia says before disappearing again.

"She might actually be a little scarier than I thought she was." Jackson admits after a moment.

"Yeah, yeah, she might be." Stiles responds.

.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.

Aurelia reappears beside her car before looking around briefly and groaning when she realises Peter wasn't there. She really should have known he wouldn't wait five minutes. She runs a hand over her face briefly before walking up to the house and opening the front door. "Hello?" She calls as she steps inside, shutting it behind her. At least she'd be out of the street when teleporting this time.

"Yo, what's up?" Sebastian calls back.

"Peter isn't here, is he?" Aurelia calls.

"Not last I checked! Why, should he be?" Sebastian asks.

"Yes! Fuck. Okay. I'll be back later, okay?" She says.

"Yeah, okay!" He responds before she teleports to the Hale House just in time to see Kate aim her gun at Derek and deflect the bullet with her magic and without the blonde noticing.

She moves over to Derek when Kate moves away towards Allison and Scott, helping him up. "Are you okay?" She asks quietly and Derek nods a little. "I'm sorry, we had to figure out where you were and we had no idea you'd been with Scott or that you'd have his phone and Peter thought I was being dramatic when I said you'd been kidnapped." Aurelia says.

"It's okay but can you do your apology ramble later?" Derek asks, glancing up towards the two Argents and Scott.

"Okay, yeah, sure. Sounds fair. Peter's not here yet?" Aurelia asks and Derek shakes his head a little.

"Haven't seen him." Derek responds and she frowns a little in confusion.

"Kate!" Aurelia and Derek both glance to the side to see Chris walking over with Nike a little bit behind him. "I know what you did." He says and Aurelia glances back at Kate to see her glance towards the house briefly before looking back at her brother. "Put the gun down."

"I did what I was told to do." Kate responds.

"That I believe. Never thought for a second she was smart enough to plan, pull off and get away with it." Aurelia mutters to Derek.

"Not the time." He whispers back and she shrugs a little.

"No one asked you to murder innocent people." Chris responds.

"Bet Gerard has said exactly that." Aurelia whispers.

"Aurelia." Derek whispers impatiently.

"Sorry." She mutters.

"There were children in that house, ones that were human." Chris says.

"Why does it take there being kids or human kids specifically in the house to get a reaction? Why isn't an entire family enough?" Aurelia asks quietly.

"I don't know." Derek responds.

"Look what you're doing now. You're holding a gun at a sixteen-year-old boy with no proof he spilled human blood. We go by the code." Chris says and Aurelia scoffs lightly, rolling her eyes as he recites the code in French.

"We go by the code." Aurelia mutters mockingly under her breath.

"Aurelia." Derek's voice adopts a more exasperated tone now.

"We hunt those who hunt us." Allison translates softly and Aurelia glances over at her briefly.

"Oh, give the girl a prize." Aurelia mutters.

"I am going to push you down this hill." Derek whispers and she sniggers softly.

Aurelia raises a brow briefly when Chris points his gun at Kate after she focuses back on Scott. "Huh, he's not as much of a pushover as I thought he was. He's still a pushover. But not as much of one." Aurelia mutters and Derek hums.

"Shouldn't you be helping Scott?" Derek asks.

"I actually want her to shoot him because I already put up a shield. You can see a faint purple shimmer. Uh and any bullet she fires at it is actually just gonna rebound and kill her, so, Chris is actually ruining my plan right now by stopping her." Aurelia whispers and Derek nods a little.

"Huh, yeah, I see it now." He says before Chris fires a shot at her.

"Pussy. My warning shot would have been right between her fucking eyes." Aurelia mutters.

"He's mentally stable." Derek counters.

"Ouch."

"Before I put you down." Chris says.

"Did I miss the beginning of that sentence?" Aurelia mutters.

"I think you interrupted it." Derek responds.

"Ah." Aurelia says softly as Kate lowers the gun before sighing and clicking her tongue. "Well, that's disappointing." She mutters before the front door of the house slowly creaks open and Aurelia rolls her eyes again. "Oh, for the love of God. You know, he should have just done a degree in theatre. Fucking drama queen." Aurelia remarks.

"Allison, get back." Chris instructs as everyone shifts their focus to the house.

"What is it?" Allison asks.

"What do you think it is?" Aurelia mutters.

"I don't think she knows anything." Derek whispers.

"Oh, okay. Fair question then, I guess. But still, werewolves, you've gotta figure it's a werewolf. It's not gonna be a My Little Pony, is it?" Aurelia says and Derek sighs impatiently.

"I think I liked it better when I was being tortured." He mutters.

"It's the Alpha." Scott says and Aurelia glances down as she closes her eyes to stop herself from laughing.

"It's just Peter." Aurelia mutters under her breath. "Oh, he kissed me." Aurelia whispers.

"Can we please do this later?" Derek asks incredulously.

"Well, yeah, but he kissed me." She says.

"Wonderful. Is that what you were doing instead of finding me when I was kidnapped? Making out with my crazy uncle?" Derek asks and she pauses.

"Let's talk about this later, yeah? God, Derek. Alpha." Aurelia says, gesturing at the house and he rolls his eyes at her.

Aurelia leans against the tree beside Derek, watching as Peter takes everyone out until Kate is the only one still standing, tilting her head a little. "Should we be doing something?" Aurelia asks, looking over at Derek before pausing a little when she sees the space beside her empty, glancing around briefly. "How the hell does he do that?" Aurelia mutters under her breath before looking forwards when she hears a gun shot to see Peter break Kate's arm before grabbing her by the throat and throwing her towards the house.

She hesitates slightly before pushing away from the tree as he drags her into the house, moving to follow when Allison rushes up into the house. "Allison!" Nike calls before rushing after her cousin.

"Oh, fucking hell." Aurelia mutters, picking up the pace a little as she heads over to the porch.

"Say it and I'll let them live." Peter says as Aurelia steps into the house to see Nike standing just behind Allison, trying to get her to leave the house with her.

"I'm sorry." Kate says and Aurelia hesitates a step behind Allison and Nike until Peter tears the blonde's throat out, moving forwards as her body hits the floor with a thud.

"Kiki, get her out of her." Aurelia says, gently pushing the two girls back when Allison moves forwards a step.

"I don't know about all of you but that apology didn't sound very sincere." Peter says and Aurelia hesitates a little as she glances at him before Scott appears next to her, slightly crouched and Aurelia stumbles slightly when someone grabs her arm, dragging her to the side before frowning at Derek.

"Derek," Aurelia starts, glancing over her shoulder when she hears Scott tell Allison to run before growling at Peter.

"Stay here." Derek says quietly.

"Derek, give me five minutes." Aurelia whispers.

"Aurelia, he's not going to listen to you." Derek says.

"At least let me try." She argues as Scott attacks Peter.

"No, stay here. Out of the way." Derek says, gently pushing her towards the back of the house before moving to help Scott.

"Oh, my God. Aurelia, help. Aurelia, don't help. Aurelia, do everything at once. Aurelia, do nothing. Fuck me." She mutters under her breath before rubbing her face roughly as she leans against the wall.

She glances around the corner briefly, hesitating slightly as she raises her hand before flinging Derek into the side of the staircase with her magic and he looks over at her incredulously. "I don't want to hurt you, Derek, I really don't but I need you to back off for five minutes." Aurelia says.

"He killed Kate and he didn't stop! You're the only person ignoring that!" Derek snaps, gesturing at him as Scott attacks him again.

"And you're ignoring the fact that I probably could have stopped him if you hadn't have dragged me out of the room before I could open my mouth!" Aurelia snaps.

"Probably! You don't know that, Aurelia! Now get out of here!" Derek snaps and she knocks him back towards the front door when he goes to re-enter the room before walking over to him.

"Derek, just give me five minutes, okay? I can't- I can't lose him again." She says.

"You never had him back. And if you think you did, you're lying to yourself." Derek responds and she hesitates slightly as she stares at him.

"I'm not letting you back in there, Derek." She says.

"You just gonna let him kill Scott? Because he's fighting him alone." Derek says.

"He's helping the Argents. Why are you helping them? Hm? Whether or not you think he's himself, Peter's still all the family you've got. Pack." Aurelia says.

"We're not Pack, Aurelia. You two are. And he has been slowly going feral since he woke up and the Alpha spark made it worse. Because one witch is not a pack and it is not enough to ground someone already on the wrong side of crazy. I know it. He knows it. You're the one ignoring that fact." Derek says.

"You don't-"

"Yes, I do! And so do you!" Derek snaps, cutting her off and she hesitates, swallowing harshly. "Get out of the way, Aurelia. There's no point in you being any more involved or hurt than you have to be." He says.

"I can't, Derek."

Both of them glance to the side at a loud crash, watching Scott land on the ground just beyond the porch and Derek looks back at Aurelia briefly. "Aurelia, just listen to me this once. Okay. Just this once?" Derek says, gently grabbing her arms as Peter attacks Scott.

"What part of 'I can't do this' are you not getting, Derek? Because I really can't." She says. "I can't listen to you because I'm gonna lose him if I do and I can't lose him. I already lost him once and it nearly killed me and he was still there. I can't lose him." Aurelia says quietly.

"Aurelia, look at me." Derek says and she looks back at him. "You didn't get him back. You know you didn't. You know that." He says quietly.

"I know he's been a little off but-"

"He killed Laura." Derek cuts in.

"That wasn't him, okay? That was- He was angry and she left and she would have done the same. So would you. You didn't spend six years feeling everything he felt. Okay? I know you don't understand why he did it, why he did any of this. Okay, I know you don't. But I do. And he's right." Aurelia says as a car horn sounds behind Derek, Stiles and Jackson climbing out.

"You want it to be right so you can justify helping him. It's not the same thing. You know none of this has been right. Not how he did any of it. But you want it to be right because if it is then it all goes away but it isn't going to. And no amount of talking to him is going to stop him. I could have given you five minutes, I could have given you an hour, he still would have tried to kill Allison and Nike." Derek says.

"You don't know that." Aurelia says.

"Aurelia, he knew he wasn't making it out of this. He knew he was too far gone." Derek says gently. "Look at me." Derek says when she glances past him briefly. "He kissed you because he knew he wasn't making it out of here tonight."

"Allison!" Scott shouts and Derek glances over his shoulder briefly before forcefully turning them around so Aurelia was facing the house.

"I can't do this again." She whispers, her voice cracking mid-sentence.

"I know. I'm sorry." Derek says gently and she crumples against him slightly, burying her face in his shoulder as he rests a hand on the back of her head.

Aurelia grips Derek's jacket tight when she feels her hands tremble slightly, exhaling slightly shakily. "Wait here for me, okay?" Derek says softly, gently moving away and Aurelia nods a little, leaning against the porch railing, resting her head against the post beside her as she stares at her feet. Derek gently squeezes her arm before walking past her and down the porch steps.

"Wait!" Scott exclaims, rushing towards Derek and Aurelia glances to the side briefly, half expecting him to take the stance of moral righteousness. "You said the cure comes from the one who bit you." Scott says and Aurelia falters slightly as she looks over at him before looking back down at her feet. "Derek. If you do this, I'm dead. Her father, her family. What am I supposed to do?" Scott asks desperately. "Wait, no, don't!"

Aurelia flinches slightly when Derek kills Peter, loosely winding her arms around her waist. She doesn't look up again until Derek stops in front of her, gently resting his hand on her arm to get her attention. "Do you want to go home? I'll meet you there, okay?" Derek says quietly and she nods a little after a moment. "I think Stiles is waiting to see if you want a ride." He says and she glances over her shoulder briefly.

"I'll walk." She says, moving past him and walking off without casting anyone a second glance.

Derek sighs slightly before walking over to Stiles when he glances from Aurelia to him, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Just give her a couple days. She's not going to handle this very well. So just give her space to figure it out." Derek says.

"Do you mean a couple days or does that mean something else?" Stiles asks.

"I don't know. I wish I did but I have no idea how long she's gonna need. I'll keep an eye on her, make sure she's okay as she'll be able to manage. I'd just wait until she comes to you. You push her before she's ready, she'll probably just get worse. I don't know." Derek says.

"Who would know?" Stiles asks.

"Peter." Derek responds and Stiles sighs.

"Oh." He says softly and Derek nods a little.

"They were always a little, well, my mom used to say they were a little co-dependent. Guess she had a reason to be worried about that. Peter was always a bit of an acquired taste and Aurelia's never really been one for letting people in. She could put up with him better than most, he always seemed to know how to help her when nobody else could. Neither of them felt like sharing the trick to either." Derek says with a slight shrug. "You should all get out of here." He says.

"Just waiting for someone to separate those two." Stiles remarks, gesturing at Scott and Allison.

"Allison, for the love of God, move before I drag you to the car by your hair!" Nike says impatiently and Allison glances at her cousin before turning back to say goodbye to Scott, walking over to the car.

"That's one way to do it." Stiles mutters.

Aurelia unlocks the front door before pushing it open and she moves to put her keys down as she closes the door behind her, hesitating as she goes to drop them to the side of the bowl before moving her hand to the right slightly to drop them into the middle of the bowl. She crouches down to unzip her boots, gently scratching the top of Arlo's head when he walks over to her, dropping his head against her knees with a low whine. She rests her head against Arlo's briefly as she gently runs her fingers through his fur.

"Okay, come on. Can't sit here all night." Aurelia mutters, kissing the top of Arlo's head before moving back to get up and finish taking her shoes off.

She heads through the apartment with Arlo trailing behind her and towards the bedroom, pushing open the door and heading over to the closet as he climbs onto the bed, lying down on the side she usually slept on. She grabs a t-shirt before closing the doors as she tosses it towards the end of the bed. She moves about the room, briefly slipping into the adjoined bathroom as she gets ready for bed before climbing into the bed beside Arlo and he gets up, moving across the bed to curl up beside her. She drops an arm, idly brushing her fingers through the first on the top of his head when he plants his head on her stomach.

She glances up a little while later when the bedroom door opens before Derek steps just inside the room. "I went to the house first but Freya said you hadn't been by." Derek says.

"I didn't want to talk to either of them. And Arlo was already here." Aurelia says and he nods a little.

"I told them, so they know why you're gonna be radio silent for a little while. I'm gonna stay here for a couple days if you need anything. I don't have anywhere to be." Derek says and she nods a little.

"Okay. Thank you." She says softly and he nods briefly before moving to step out of the room. "Derek?" He hums, looking back over at her. "Can you stay?" She asks and he nods.

"Yeah, okay." He responds, pulling the door back to before heading over to the bed, sitting in the empty space beside Arlo.

"I thought he was okay because Arlo didn't snap at him or growl. It's why I stopped by the house to pick him up when I did. Now I think he just knew I probably wouldn't have handled it very well. Finding out he wasn't okay." Aurelia admits quietly.

"Would knowing have made it easier or worse?" Derek asks, glancing at her and she shakes her head a little.

"I don't know." She says softly. "He just- He seemed okay when it was just us. Seemed normal." Aurelia says.

"Yeah, well, you're also the only person he never even made a move towards hurting. Even that night in the woods when he killed Laura. Like you said, he saw you, he stopped and he was totally out of his mind then." Derek says and Aurelia hums softly. "But that was only ever going to last for so long. You were probably the only pack bond he had. Or the only stable one at least. If I had one with him, wasn't strong enough for me to feel it. Even when he wasn't him, he knew who you were because you were pack. You're probably the reason he was ever able to wake up to begin with." Derek says.

"Lot of good that did." Aurelia mutters.

"It's not your fault, Aura. If anyone's to blame for what happened, it's me and Laura. We never should have left to begin with. He'd have had an Alpha, more than one stable pack bond. He probably would have woken up sooner and with a clearer mind." Derek says.

"If we're gonna start pointing fingers for that then it's just Laura we should be blaming. You didn't want to leave. You only did because Laura was and you were scared. If you didn't want to end up an omega, you had to go. She didn't give you a choice. She didn't give any of us a choice." Aurelia says. "You had to leave. I had to stay."

"You're probably right. But she was just doing what she thought was best too. She was just as scared." Derek says.

"I know that. But all of this could have been avoided if she'd just listened to me. Because this is what I said would happen." Aurelia says. "The second she decided not only to leave but to leave Peter behind, this was all only ever going to end one way. She just didn't want to see that."

The two of them sit in silence while Derek stews over Aurelia's words and she idly scratches behind Arlo's ear as she listens to the thoughts people in the flat below arguing in an attempt to keep her mind busy.
