Chapter 25

Later that Day....

Gabe walked into the bedroom to find Thea propped up on pillows asleep and mumbled sadly, "I shouldn't wake her up."

Gabe sighed as he removed his jacket and white dress shirt and laid them on the window seat.  "What am I going to do if she rejects me," he wondered out loud to himself.  "I can try to force her to stay but she'd definitely hate me."

Gabe sat down and started to remove his shoes. "And the babies," he groaned as he tucked the socks together and tossed them toward the walk in closet.  "They all are shi-."

"Gabe," mumbled Thea as she stared at him with clear brown eyes. "Are you and your family in the mob?"  She struggled to sit higher up on the pillow and smoothed the covers below her stomach as she eyed him wearily.

Gabe face furrowed before a slow smile curved his lips and a small husky laugh escaped.  "No we are not made men."

"Russian spies bent on world domination starting with the USA and Canada" asked Thea half serious and half joking.

Gabe stood up and started to undo his belt.  "No and for your information my family's businesses stretch all seven continents," he laughed as he unbuttoned his pants.

"Are you a futuristic vampire from Ah'Taria come to dominate me," she asked as amusement flickered in her eyes.

Gabe expression flickered with distaste before it was replaced with a puzzled expression. He watched she wave her phone and point at the Wattpad app.  "I'm reading a book called 'The Academy," she stated in answer to his unspoken question.

Gabe shook his head as he looped his fingers into the waistband of his boxers, "So it's about futuristic vampires at school?"

"Nope," laughed Thea as she popped the 'p'.  "The woman that wrote it should consider changing the title," she laughed as she stared appreciatively at his body as the black boxes slid down.  When he started toward the bed she shook her head, "Aren't you going to put on pajama bottoms or something?"

Gabe sat on the edge of the bed next to her and sighed before he picked up her hand and stared imploringly into her eyes.  "Thea I need to tell you a few things," he whispered.

"Okay," replied Thea without confidence as she slowly pulled her hand away.  She smiled slightly as she tried not to let tears gather in her eyes, "Are you going to tell me you cheated on me?  If you are just lie to me."

Gabe grabbed her hand and squeezed as he looked into her eyes, "I've made mistakes but while we were together I've never cheated on you."

Thea shifted uncomfortably, "Gabe I have to use the bathroom, the kids are dancing on my bladder."  She threw the covers back and attempted to swing her legs off the bed. "Can you help me," she asked as she struggled to sit the rest of the way up, "and we can talk about this once I'm out of the bathroom?"

"Sure," replied Gabe as he pulled her up against him.  He smiled as he felt warmth envelop them.  "I'll be right here," he said after he led her to the en suite and closed the door.

"Okay," whispered Thea forlornly as she watched him close the door.  Thea gingerly sat down on the toilet and stared at her belly. "I can't even see my freaking feet," she mumbled as she wiggled her toes and took care of her urgent business.  "Stop kicking," she snapped as she watched the skin of her stomach move as either a foot or hand stretched out.

After she finished she grabbed the sink and tissue roll and attempted to heave herself off the toilet.  "Double fuck," she groaned when she couldn't get up.  She could feel heat creep up her neck as embarrassment washed over her.  "Gabe!  Can you help me," she called as she twisted to flush the toilet.

Gabe opened the door and stared in and scrunched his face, "Number One or Two?"

"One," groaned Thea as she dropped her head in shame.

"Okay," chuckled Gabe as he rushed in and help her off.  "I had to ask in case it needed to air a little," he bit back another chuckle.

"Ha ha," responded Thea as color bloomed on her cheeks.

Gabe pressed his lips together to stop himself from laughing as he led her to the bed.  Gently he helped her lie back down and arrange he covers over her.  With a sigh he sat down on the bed, as naked as the day he was born.

"Are you going to put on some clothes," asked Thea as her eyes trailed down his golden toned abs and rested on his semi-erect penis.

"In a minute," he mumbled as he grabbed her hand.  "I know I should wait until after the babies are born to tell you everything but I'm afraid if I wait you'll leave me."

"Okay," nodded Thea as she tried to pull her hand away.  "Go ahead."  Thea watched as he opened his mouth and held up a hand, "You know what before you just start telling me what you think I should know let me ask you a few things?"

Gabe shook his head, "Like what?"

"The girl Mr. Henderson said he saw you with in Zion.  Where you cheating on me with her?"

Gabe grip on her hands tightened, "I made dumb mistakes but I did not ever sleep with her after you and I started going out officially."

"Officially," responded Thea skeptically.  "So you and she did use to go out."

"I stopped fucking with her that day you asked if we wanted to go celebrate your 16th birthday in high school," stated Gabe as his jade green eyes stared into her brown ones.

Various emotions flickered across Thea's face before she nodded and pursed her lips. "Say I believe you," she began, "why were you with her in Addly?"

"Her parents are investors and mine didn't know about our sordid past," sighed Gabe.

"So you were with her for money," asked Thea with a look of distaste.  "Money?  Gabriel August DuPont was with someone for their parent's money."

"You don’t have to sound so skeptical," sighed Gabe as his thumb swirled circles on the back of her hand.  "We can't use all our capital for new ventures."

Thea shrugged as she turned away, "I'm not a business person so I'm not gonna sit here and act like I know so whatever."  Thea brought his hand to her stomach so he could feel as the babies kicked and moved around searching for space.

"That looks and feels painful," whispered Gabe as he stared at her stomach with a look of disbelief and amazement.  "I can't believe it'll go back to its old size."

"Thanks," snapped Thea as she threw his hand off her stomach.  "It's good to know that's what you can't believe!"

"I'm sorry," responded Gabe as he stared at her stomach still.

"Whatever," sighed Thea as she shook her head and grabbed his hand and placed it back on her stomach.  "I guess you should go head and tell me what you want to say.  Shoots!  Sitting there naked and there's nothing I can do about it," mumbled Thea as she rolled her eyes and found herself staring between his legs.

"Eyes up here," purred Gabe as his little friend jumped under Thea's inspection.  He smirked when her eyes slowly came back to his face.  "Any other questions?"

Thea waved a hand, "Seems like you'll deny cheating on me to your dying breath so I'm not going to ask again."

"Thanks, I think," responded Gabe with a hurt expression.

"Well dang," Thea as she placed her hand on top of his.  "I didn't mean it like that."

Gabe shrugged and gave her the puppy dog eyes, "My mom thinks you don't want to marry me."

Thea's eyes went to the gigantic ring on her finger and frowned, "You're keeping too many secrets.  Your mom called me your mate.  Not your fiancé or future wife but soul mate."

"I really should wait but I'm gonna tell you know."  Gabe rubbed her stomach and smiled, "Remember when we first met and you were sitting there playing jacks on your parent front stoop?"

"Yeah," answered Thea hesitantly.

"Do you remember what I said to you?"

"Vaguely," whispered Thea as her eyes took on a faraway look.  "I remember you told me you were special and that you would make me special too."

Gabe nodded, "So you only remember that."

"Um," thought Thea as she rubbed his hand.  "You said you think about silver pups with green eyes!"

Gabe sighed and raked his finger through his dirty blond hair.  "That's not exactly what I said," he whispered as he stood up.  "I said that I was could turn into a silver pup with green eyes.  Don't you remember I showed you -?"

"That was a dream," responded Thea as she tried to sit up.

"I could have gotten into a shitload of trouble back then for showing you," frowned Gabe, "and the next day when I came to play with you you'd dismissed it as an illusion or dream."

Thea chewed her bottom lip as she stared at his naked form.  Her gaze seemed to stop directly on his manhood and she smiled a little when it started to dance for her.  "The doctor said -."

"Absolutely no sex," snapped Gabe as he waved his hand through the air.  "None! Zip! Zero!"

Thea pouted as she kicked her feet against the mattress and whined. "Then why are you naked."

Gabe gave her a dead pan look before he took a deep breath.  "Okay," he said as he raised his index finger.  "Don't freak out."

"Whatever," scowled Thea as she rolled her eyes.  "Not like I'm about to get some," she grumbled as she folded her arms over her stomach.

Gabe paused and narrowed his eyes, "Did you think not ten minutes ago I was cheating on you."

"And?  I can still fuck you," scoffed Thea.  "You put a ring on my finger so let's be real.  There's a 75% chance I would have forgiven you."

Gabe cocked an eyebrow, "75%?"

"Okay more like 30% but there's an 85% chance I would have still had sex with you every once and a while."

"You're amazing," laughed Gabe as he stared at her in disbelief.  "So if I would have confirmed that I had slept with her?"

"I would have made every day of your life hell," smiled Thea through clenched teeth.

"Good to know," mumbled Gabe as he shook his head.   Gabe took a deep breath and waved a hand as he dismissed her words, "I didn't so I want have to live in hell."   He held his index finger up again and said slowly, "Don't freak out.

Thea rolled her eyes as she stared at him, "Whatever."

"I'm a shifter and on my 25th birthday I will be alpha of the Midnight Pack," rushed Gabe as he stared into her eyes.

"What," asked Thea confused.  "What the heck is a shifter?  And what do you mean when you say alpha?"  Thea huffed as she stared at him, "I thought you said you weren't in the mob!"

Gabe gave Thea an exacerbated look, "I'm not in the mob."

"Then what the bloody hell are you talking about," yelled Thea.

"I'm a shifter," yelled Gabe.

"What the he-," Thea's voice caught in her thought and her eyes grew wide as she watched Gabe transform.  "Oh my GOD," yelled Thea as she now stared at a silver wolf with jade green eyes.  "Oh my god," screamed Thea hysterical as she clutch the covers as if they were going to protect her from what she'd just saw.

"Oh my god," screamed Thea as her eyes swung from the large wolf to her legs.  "I think my water just broke," she screamed before white dots floated in front of her eyes and her world went black.
