Chapter 1

I flew into New York, heard it's the greatest city.
I rented a PT Cruiser, I know, it's old. But I took it anyway because it was cheap.
I put my stuff in the back and drove into town, looking for the fair set up. In the distance I saw tents and booths being set up with a lady yelling and waving a clipboard around.
"Volunteer for set up!" She yelled over and over.
I parked the car and walked up, "Volunteer?" She held the clipboard to me.
"If it means I get a booth?" I asked her. She nodded frantically, the lady looked desperate to have someone help.
I nodded and signed. "I'll go get my stuff." She nodded and smiled, relieved someone signed up.
I grabbed a few of my posters and went to a booth, hanging them up with the price tags.
I always had a banner with me whenever I went to these, I took it and hung it on the bottom of the booth.
I smiled at the progress and continued setting up.
"Hey." A guy across from me waved, he was selling bouquets, flower crowns, and anything that was associated as a plant.
I smiled and waved back. "Sup."
"You new to New York?" He asked, leaning against the table.
I hummed and nodded, "Yep!" I set up the last piece, happy with the result of my booth.
"Well we have some time before we open for the fair. Maybe we can get some lunch together?"
Did he just ask me out on a date?
I shook my head, "Oh sorry, I already had lunch on the flight down."
He looked disappointed but left for his lunch anyway.

The fair had opened 10 minutes ago and I had finished rehearsal, so I drove on over.
I saw a lot of things being sold like dresses, fruits, flowers, art.
The art caught my attention, mainly because an old friend of mine said she wanted to be an artist when she grew up.
The lady behind the art booth had black hair that just reached her chin, her bangs were long and she had a gold clip holding it back.
Her shirt was white with some 'paint splotches' on it. A pencil was in the middle and the words underneath read, 'Art is my life.'
The lady smiled at me and I smiled back, looking at the posters.
I enjoyed the art until a little watercolored page caught my attention.
It was a stone girl in the forest on her knees next to a river, a wolf was there with her.
"Ya like that one? I call it 'The Stone Girl and The Wolf.'" The lady said.
"I do like it." I looked at her, "An old friend of mine had a more childish picture of this." I chuckled, remembering the childish drawing.
"She probably would've loved your art, she told me that she wanted to be an artist when she grew up." I smiled warmly at the memories. "How much for this?"
The lady hummed, "20! 25 if you want a frame added."
I took out my wallet and grabbed 25 dollars, she took the money and framed it, adding the glass as well.
"Thank you miss..?"
"Emy Pask!" She extended her hand, offering a hand shake.
My jaw dropped and I almost dropped the picture. "I know I know, weird name." Emy said.
"EMY!" I screeched and hugged her. She was surprised and confused.
"Do I know you?" She asked, hesitantly hugging back.
I let go, a big smile on my face, "It's me! Parry Liuge!"
She covered her mouth and ran out of the booth, hugging me tightly.
We both silently cried from joy.
"Where have you been?!" I asked.
"I've been in Nevada, and I became an artist! What about you?"
"I became a background dancer here in New York!" I couldn't stop crying as I had just found my childhood best friend.
