Part Two: Open Arms

As soon as the skeleton disappeared the ground which had seemingly died beneath his feet regrew, Toriel sighing.

"I am very sorry that I was not there to greet you, my child. But I must ask you how much you heard, sadly." She seemed serious, to a pain where I was a little scared.

"I-I heard you telling him that you can't just intrude on a God's home, him saying that he can even if he doesn't want to a-and then--"

"He noticed you were standing there and tried to kill you. Yes, I know, my child." Toriel interrupted me.

I sighed and nodded.

"I never knew that hearing a conversation could almost get me killed," I tried to joke.

She gave me a light laugh and I also laughed as soon as I knew that it was okay. After that, she asked, "How did you fall, my child?"

I laughed nervously, "Well, the other demi-Gods, felt that there was something off in this realm, and decided we should send someone. And I volunteered, being the demi-God of Determination and what not, heh."

Toriel kind of looked distracted at the mention of demi-Gods, but shook it off?

"Oh, well, I can see why you would all be worried. Death has been a bit irritating lately, but I don't think that you should've come here. This isn't exactly a place for demi-Gods."

I nodded, agreeing with her.

"We also felt the presence of another demi-God here. The one who's supposed to be the next Death, the one that was supposed to be reaped because they were just. . . Evil. We felt their presence here and also wanted to see what was causing that if it was really her."

Toriel seemed shaken again.

"Y-You know who I'm talking about, d-don't you?"

She nodded.

"Child, I fear for you. I do not think that you can get back out the way you came, but I fear that if you leave that they will kill you. . ." Toriel pondered the possible outcomes or futures that could come out of this.

Mostly the bad ones, though.

"I can make it. If they kill me, it will possibly upset the timeline. And we don't need that happening, especially not the Gods."

Toriel nodded but was still distant, thinking about what she could do. . .

I put a hand on her shoulder reassuringly, "I'll be fine, I promise. Even though I may be a demi-God, one of the many said and vowed to never do any wrong, I do have some tricks up my sleeve. You have to trust me, okay?"

She slowly nodded, still a bit distracted.

"Okay. I will head out tomorrow, then. Could you try and warn me of what to expect? I mean, it's better than nothing. . ."

Toriel nodded and took her to her house, where she told her how to prepare.

These next few days were going to be interesting. . .
