TEN YEARS AGO

"Mommy! Mommy!" I said to her while she was back from work.

"Hey, baby." She said to me with a smile picking me up, spinning me around making me giggle.

"Did you behave for ms. Hazel?" She asked me making me nod.

"Yes, I did." I said to her, giving her a high five.

"Good job." She said to Mexican watching her let out a sigh.

"Are you okay, mommy?" I asked her.

"Oh, yeah, I'm fine sweetie." She said giving me a kiss on my neck giving me tickles making me laugh,

"mommy, it tickles." I said between laugh.

"Oh, yeah?" She said before tickling my stomach making me laugh even harder.

"Ha!" I said to her,

"m-mommy!" I said between laugh.

"Okay." She said to me sitting me on her lap.

"Did you do your homework?" She asked me making me nod as I got off and ran towards the table to get my paper.

"Look!" I said excitedly showing her my paper.

"Look, at this." My mother said with a smile.

"My little girl is smart." She said happily.

"Mommy, it's just an A." I said making her gasp.

"It's not just any A. It's an A showing how smart you are. You are Amazing." She said to me, watching her grab a nail.

"What are you doing?" I asked her sitting down on the couch.

"I'm putting this to remember my daughter's A." She said to me making me laugh.

"Mommy." I giggle as she smiled at me.

"Come here." She said picking me up and attacking me with kisses making me laugh.

"Mom!" I yelled as I laughed.

"You know I love you right?" She asked me making me nod.

"Yes, mom. I know." I said to her sassy.

"How much?" She asked making me laugh.

"To the earth to space." I said as she kissed my cheek.

"That's my baby." She said.

"Mommy?" I said to her.

"Yes?" She said looking at me.

"When will we ever go down to earth?" I asked her looking out the small glass window we have in our room.

"Well, sweetie. Now it's not the time yet." She said to me making me frown.

"Why not?" I asked her.

"Well, because we don't know if earth is survivable." She said to me making me look down to the ground.

"So, I won't see the cute little flowers?" I asked her, she hands touch my face lifting my head up.

"Not until we know we can survive earth." She said making me sigh.

"Do you think it's beautiful like the pictures in the books?" I asked her as she gave me a smile.

"Much beautiful. It's all green." She said to me making my smile grow bigger.

"Really! Is there animals?"  I asked as she laughed at me.

"Yes. What's your favorite animals?" My mother asked me making me hum.

"Mhm?" I said to her before I clapped my hands.

"Deer!" I said before shaking my head.

"No!" I said making her laugh.

"Fish!" I said excitedly before she laugh.

"I don't know. Too many animals." I said with a smile.

"Well, my beautiful girl. One day when we go down there you'll know what's your favorite animal." She said to me.

"Yeah, if we ever go." I said crossing my arms.

"What if we never do? I won't see those things," I told her.

"I won't be able to see earth." I told her sadly.

"Hey, you will. And I'll make sure of it. You my beautiful girl will see earth even if I have to do everything to take you down." She said to me.

"Yes! I want to see everything. I want to see butterflies! Oh my god. I wonder what type of butterflies?" I said to her.

"I don't but they'll be very colorful." She said giving me a tickle.

I was born in the ark. We never left. And my only dream is to go down to earth and to see how beautiful it is. The books just show pictures but not what it actually is. It was destroyed but throughout the years it has change. And I want to be the first to see how it is. My mom always said it's beautiful just like in the books but I don't know.

"Guess what?" I said to her.

"What's that?" She asked me, I got off the couch and ran towards my bed to grab another paper. My drawing.

"I made this!" I said happily. Running before I fell down and felt a sting on my leg making me cry out. I watched my mom run up to me and picking me up from the ground.

"Mommy, it hurts." I cried out as she took a look at my foot to see a small nail on my leg.

"Okay, give me your hand." She said to me placing my hand on hers.

"When you feel pain squeeze it as hard as you can." She said with a nod.

"Y-yes mom." I said to her with tears in my eyes.

"One..." she began to count.

"Two...." She said before letting out a breath.

"Three." She said and that exact time I squeezed her hand as hard as I could possibly.

"Hey." She said as she disinfects it.

"Your okay." She said to me as I wipe my tears.

"Mommy?" I asked her.

"Yes sweetie," she said to me.

"Am I going to die?" I asked my mom, as she was sitting next to me, cleaning my injury.

"I would say your chances of survival is a hundred percent." She told me.

"Are you going to die?" I asked her. She stopped cleaning my wound and looked up at me with blue eyes.

Same eyes as mine

"Well, everyone died eventually sweetie, but... not for a very long-long time." She said to me as I nod.

"But what if you die and I'm still here?" I asked her in a small voice.

"Well, then you'll be all grown up and you won't need me." She told me with a smile, touching my cheek making me look up at her with tears.

"I think I'll always need you." I told her letting out a small sniffle before I wrapped my arms around my mother feeling her kiss the top of my head hugging me.

"Promise me you won't leave me, mommy?" I asked her as I heard her heart, my head against her chest cuddling into her.

"I promise you, baby." She whispered to me as I smiled.

"What the hell are you doing?" Kane asked me as I put on a suit.

"What does it look like." I said zipping it up.

"Madison, you can't go out there." Abby said to me making me shake my head.

"You can't stop me." I said to them angrily.

"I get your mad." Kane said to me, I tossed my bag on the floor harshly.

"Mad?" I asked him.

"You tossed my mother out there." I said to him angrily.

"I'm more than mad." I said to him.

"And I'm sorry but your mother-,"

"my mother what? She told you too? I don't care what she said you could've told me." I said to him putting on my mask.

"I can't let you walk through that door." Kane said to me.

"To stop me your going have it kill me." I said to Kane.

"I'm not going to stay here without saying good bye." I told Kane.

"I'm not going to loose her." I said pulling my arm away from Kane.

"Madison listen to me."

"No! Kane. You listen to me. She's my mother. The woman that gave birth to me. She's been with me through worst and-," I said letting out a tear.

"I-I'm not going to stay here knowing that my mother is about to die out there and she didn't get to touch-touch me- or hold me." I said letting out a small whimper.

"I can't-I can't." I cried out.

"So-so either you let me or your going to have to kill me." I said to Kane.

"Or you can get killed. It's up to you." I said to him.

"The death wave is almost here." Abby said to me.

"Yeah, and my mom is out there." I said to her.

"She's not dying because of me. It's because of you." I said to her.

"You let Jaha stay but not my mother?" I asked with a scoff.

"She's much more helpful then Jaha. But oh well." I said to him picking up my small bag and grabbing my gun. But Kane stopped me.

"Out of my way or I will shoot you right here." I said to Kane angrily.

"Look, I won't take long." I said to Kane.

"I'll go find my mom. And come back." I said to him.

"If not then I'll die with her." I said to Kane.

"Madison-," Abby said.

"Don't Madison me. Don't tell me not to go. Your aren't my mother. My mother is about to take her last breath without seeing her daughter. So I suggest to keep your mother daughter lecture for Clarke when you see her." I said angrily pushing Kane and Abby out the way and heading up the stairs, before stopping mid way.

"I suggest you two so head back instead, don't want to end up dead do you?" I asked them as they stare at me hesitating before I let out a sigh hearing the door close.

"Here, I come mother." I said pushing the button to open the door and getting out. I could hear the wind hitting.

It felt hard. I was still inside the temple where the bunker was found. I saw all of the people Kane chosen to die. But none of them was my mother. Turning on the flashlight while I walked around looking for my mom.

It wasn't just going to take a few minutes. And minutes isn't what I had. But i wasn't just going to back without saying bye to her or leave her here to die. That's why I brought another suit. She was going to come with me.

"Mom." I said trying to see if I could hear her or if she was still alive. I saw how some people skins had burn up already and I was hoping it wasn't like that with her's. I saw a women with blonde hair looking down her back facing me with a grey shirt.

"Mom?" I asked walking towards her as I flipped her around to see it wasn't her. But I could tell she was already gone. He whole body was all burned you could barely see who it was.

"Come on." I whispered to myself as I let out a shaky breath getting up and kept walking down the body's trying my hardest not to step on any of them. Stupid list.

Why would we ever do that. I thought when Clarke made it she put my mother like she did to her's but no. And Kane- he still decided to throw her out. And then come Bellamy- god, my anger towards him.

He decided to sedate me than going out there to help and save Raven. And he was right as much as I love him I do hate him for what he did to me. Would never let that happen. I get he wanted to protect me but I don't need no ones protection. I don't why they don't get that.

"Mom." I said still looking the temple before I jumped when I felt someone grabbed my leg.

"You." He said to me. It was a grounder.

"You should've died when I had the chance to kill you!" He said to me angrily. He was trying to get up but before he did I pulled out the gun from my bag and shot him between his eyes. I watched his body fall to the ground making me just stare at it.

"That's for what you did to me." I said to him as his blood began to spread.

"Jus drien jus daun." I ask before turning around and continuing to walk. But I couldn't find her. At all. I don't think this was even have of it. So I walked further down letting to a small corridor.

"Mom." I said again trying to find her, hoping she could recognize my voice.

"Madison." I heard my radio go off. I though the radios went off.

"Madison." Kane said to me.

"What?" I asked.

"you have to come back. T-the wave is about to hit." Kane said as the radio kept cutting out.

"I'm not leaving until I find her," i said.

"M-Madison-come -back-you-," I heard before the radio went off and all I heard was the static.

"Damn it. It's out." I whispered in a breath putting the radio back to my back and continue to finding my mom.

"Mom." I whispered as I heard a small groan coming from the right making me turn.

"Mom?" I asked again hearing it once again.

Please, please, I beg you. Please let it be her. Please tell me she's okay.

"Mom!" I yelled a little more.

"M-Madison?" She ask my flashlight pointing towards her as she covers her face.

"Mommy." I said to her running up to her putting my back to the floor.

"What are you doing here?" She asked me.

"Y-you can't be here. Y-you-," she said to me letting out a cough.

"No, don't talk." I said taking out the suit from my bag.

"I need you to put this on." I said to her as she tries to push it away from me. I didn't want to start bursting in tears seeing her like this. She's all pale, her body looks likes she's burning her lips dry.

"No-, Madison. Y-you need to l-leave." She said to making shake my head.

"No!" I said angrily raising my voice.

"I'm-I'm not leaving you!" I said tears forming in my eyes.

"So I need you to put this on. Please," I begged her as she hesitated before she gave me a nod.

"Okay." She said to me in a weak voice as I immediately helped her put the suit on one leg then the other pushing through her body zipping it up. I immediately grabbed the helmet from the floor before the slopes began to shake.

"Woah." I said grabbing a hold of my mom not wanting to let her go, hearing bricks falling around us.

"Madison, you need to leave."

"I'm not leaving you! No." I said to her.

"You're going to get hurt." She said to me making me shake my head. I don't want to leave her.

I'm not leaving my mom here and let her die. She can't die like this. She ain't ready-I'm not ready. She can't. I don't want more of people I love to die. I've lost too many and I'm not letting her leave me. Not now. Not ever. This can't be it.

"Mom. We have to go." I said as heard bricks falling down, i pushed my mom to the side as one big one fell.

"Madison, you have to go!" She said to me again making me shake my head.

"No." I let out my tears coming down.

"I-I'm not letting you die h-here. Mom, I need-need you." I said to her in tears. "And I need you to be safe." She said to me grabbing my hand.

"No-," I said shaking my head. "No." I said again.

"Madison, you can pull through this. You are a very brave girl. You are the strongest little woman." She said to me making me cry, I shook my head to her.

"No, mommy." I said to her shaking my head to her.

"Please, I need you to go back." She said to me as the walls began to fall.

"I-uh-I can't leave you." I said to through my tears.

"Madison. This is the reason I-chose this. I chose for you two stay down there. And I sacrifice myself for you to live." She told me.

"I can't live without you m-mom." I cried out.

"Your not alone. You have friends around you. Y-you have your dad." She said her tears running down her face as I cried out throughout the temple that was breaking down.

"B-but-but mom. You promised me." I whispered to her. "I know, baby." She sad to me as she touched my arms throughout the suit.

"You promised-you promised you wouldn't leave me." I said to her. She promised she would stay with me and never leave me.

"Y-you said-," I said but she cut me off.

"Yes, I know. But-I'm doing this for you." She said to me.

"M-mom-no." I said to her as she began to cough. "You are the best thing that I ever had. You are my beautiful baby. I love you so much and I'm so proud of a woman you've become. I hope one day you'll be happy and have kids of your own. You are the smartest girl. My little girl having her first highest grade." She said to me making me laugh between my laugh.l

"An A." We both said as we laughed together.

"I love you too mom. Thank you for being there for me. I'm sorry for not believing you about dad." I said to her in tears.

"I forgive you." She said to me as I looked down.

"Thank-thank you for believing me. Thank you for everything." I said to her.

"Thank you for keeping your promise." I told her.

"Even though I came here to die when Jaha sent me down." I said in a laugh letting out a hiccup.

"At least I got to see the ground." I said to her.

"And I'm glad I was with you after that." She said to me as stood in the middle of everything.

I wanted that both of us to make it out of here alive but no. None of us was coming out alive. The bunker wasn't near us. We weren't going to survive.

"I forgive for everything. I-i know you protecting me from the truth and I-i forgive mom." I said to her before the whole ceiling came down my mom pushing me out the way as I hit my self on the ground, my helmet hit hard to wall making my head bleed inside.

"M-mom?!" I yelled as I got up with my head injured.

"I-I'm not- I'm not done saying goodbye. Mom!" I yelled throwing the huge bricks out of the way. Looking down I saw blood. A lot.

"Mom! S-stay-with-me." I said struggling to push the others bricks off.

"Madison, promise me you'll live and move on." My mom said struggling to keep talking.

"Mom stop talking. I'm-I'm going to get you out." I said anxiously.

"No-I won't make it." She said to me.

"M-mom don't-don't say that, please." I cried out throwing my head back.

"My helmet is broken." She said to me.

"Mommy." I cried out to her. "I love you my little beautiful girl." She said to me as I pushed the brick revealing her.

She was already bleeding out. The metal stick right through her arm and the side of her stomach. They look deep. "P-promise you'll b-be happy?" She asked me.

"I-I can't do that." I said to her shaking my head, touching her hair and grabbing her hand.

"Promise me Madison. It's the only way I know you are happy." She said making me cry even more.

"I love you so-so much." She said to me. Her body was already reacting to the radiation.

"I-I love you mom." I said to her seeing her tear run down her cheek as she took her last breath looking at me.

I closed her eyes, my hands shaking as everything collapsed on us. And the last thing was that I was lying next to my mom.

A/n: this made me cry, I'm the worst writer. I can't believe I made Madison watch her mother die. What do you guys think? Am I that evil to do this to her? I think I am. It was so hard for me to decide whether or not to do this but I did. And it hurts me I'm so sorry. Hope you enjoy this chapter!
