006 — restraint

season two —
episode seven

WARNING: MISCARRIAGE
& LOSS

DAYS PASS SINCE the whole Marlo dying and the boys kidnapping Jackson and holding both him and Marlo hostage while looking for answers.

Both the boys end up with restraining orders against them by Jackson and his father.

Jackson was going to try and fight for Marlo to have one as well considering she was there with the teenage boys but he felt threatened at the older woman and didn't want to mess with his sort of alpha and a vampire at that.

After finding out she died for a while too he felt genuinely bad for her and completely changed his mind and just allowed his father to take him to the station to file the restraint against the boys.

The days that past Erica and Isaac haven't left Marlo's side knowing she needs someone since both the incidents including her death.

Although she told them she was perfectly fine being alone for a while both teens didn't allow that and continued looking out for their older guardian in a way.

Derek also stopped by a lot in the afternoons due to him being quite busy running around sorting things out.

Marlo filled him in on all the things that happened that night he basically ditched her at the nightclub, but she didn't hold that against him.

Sh understood he needed to leave as soon as the chaos began in the club and him biting the kanima.

The very next day she went out and got herself a new phone because she couldn't function without keeping in contact with people.

She made sure to promise her father she would keep in contact and she made sure she was going to keep her word.

As she was texting her brother to update him she was okay and thanking him for taking her to the hospital; she missed her family deeply, especially her mother Claudia.

Both Stiles and Marlo were there when she passed away and since then Marlo decided she'd always fend for herself and not allow anyone in.

All though that plan failed when Derek pushed himself into her life and allowed her to open up and tell him things about her being scared all the time; she cried and screamed in his arms for weeks and after a while she just became numb.

The two young teens were inseparable though, where Marlo was; Derek was always with her and Peter, he would tag along sometimes worried about his nephew sharing the Hale family secret.

Marlo wasn't dumb though, she knew things. She was close with Cora, Talia and Laura before the fire killing some of the family. Derek distanced himself after them blaming himself for ages because he lost basically all of his family.

Howe ver Marlo didn't allow him to completely isolate himself, she would fight for his attention, show up at his house and even sometimes steal her father's booze and go over and get drunk with him.

Derek always said he couldn't get drunk and didn't explain why, she didn't mind though, they were soulmates in everyone else's eyes but their own.

AFTER DEREK AND MARLO tell the werewolf betas they need help and that help being Scott and his pack.

Isaac begins to question them following them out of the train they're currently in; "So, why do we need their help?".

"Because it's harder to kill than we thought and I still don't know who it is" Derek says.

Marlo looking down at the floor avoiding eye contact because she knows it all but she doesn't want to suggest things or make things worse as she actually wants her brother to trust her.

She doesn't care much about Scott considering the whole breaking her phone for no reason thing but she adores her little brother and actually doesn't mind Allison either so she promised them.

"And they do?" Isaac asks, "They might, which is why I need one of you to get on their good side" Derek replies mainly looking the olden woman because she's a certain someone's bigger sister.

Before she has the chance to respond; Erica says "Hmm, Scott or Stiles?", "Either" Derek says looking at the younger girl,

"You know the full moons coming, Derek?" Isaac says, "I'm aware of that" Derek says in a duh tone and looks at Marlo as if they're sharing thoughts.

Isaac just sighs and watches his alpha open a chess like box on the abandoned buildings floor and begin looking at the items in it.

Marlo who is just standing behind them sighs and goes and helps the alpha; they're still a tad awkward after their near like sexual tendencies in the shower a few days ago.

Plus Marlo feels guilty for not sharing what she knows, plus the secret she really needs to tell Derek as well.

Marlo and Derek pull out chains and Erica just looks at them and so does Isaac in slight fear.

"Right, these look comfortable" Erica says handing over the other one to the vampire in the room smiling flirtatiously at her; she just smiles and grabs it.

"You both said you were gonna teach us the chains whenever we wanted" Isaac says, "There hasn't been time" Derek states pulling more things out of the box.

"But if you have to lock us up during the full moon that means you're both alone against the argents." Isaac says.

"They haven't found us" Derek says grabbing Marlo's hand and walking off, "Yet! So how about we forget the kanima?" Isaac states.

"We can't!" Derek yells growing angry not directly at their betas but mainly because this thing has managed to hurt Marlo twice already and he doesn't want her hurt again.

"But there was something about the Gerard looked at it; he wasn't afraid at all: now I don't know what he knows or what he's planning, but I'm sure about one thing.

"We have to find it first" Derek says looking at Marlo then his betas; Marlo just smirks.

"I think I need a new pair of boots anyways; so bring it the fuck on" Marlo states in a tone all of the werewolves are aware of; now all of them are smirking because they know she's angry and she'll now fight with them properly and not stand back.

"Now that's what I call an inspirational speech; let's do this!" Erica says clapping excitedly.

As Marlo goes to leave the building the two betas call out to her; "Do you think you could drop us off at school since you're the one with a car here please?" Erica asks.

"Of course; give me five minutes" Marlo answers being dragged away somewhere privately by Derek; "You can't be here when I'm chaining them up; okay?" He states.

Marlo just nods knowing why his saying this; "Don't worry; I'll be upstairs at all times and staying out of the way; I'll be safe" Marlo says putting her hands on his shoulders.

"Good; just thought I'd mention it" Derek says kissing her cheek and walking off to get everything ready for the full moon.

Marlo enters the main room again and gestures for Erica and Isaac to follow her; "Come on you two; school time" Marlo says shaking her keys.

Isaac and Erica just grab their things and run after the vampire; "Shotgun" Erica says to Isaac; the boy just sighs out frustratedly.

They both get in Marlo's vehicle; Marlo's playlist comes blaring through the speakers and she turns it down.

"Now you two, I won't be on the same floor with you during the full moon due to well circumstances but I'll be there okay, the whole time upstairs" Marlo states dropping the two at the school and smiling at them before driving off.

She sighs to herself and focuses on the road; she has to tell Derek soon it's eating her up inside.

At the school Erica overhears the end of Lydia and Stiles conversation and smirks to herself following after the Stilinski boy to question him; and pushes him against the corridor wall; "Ow, hey, Erica" Stiles snarls.

"Why are you asking Lydia about Jackson's real parents?" Erica asks having her claws against his chest so he replies.

"Why are you bringing out the claws on camera?" motioning to the camera behind them.

Erica just looks behind her with a confused expression on her face and immediately takes off her hand and puts the claws away.

"That's right; you wanna play Catwoman, I'll be your Batman" Stiles states walking off.

"If you're wondering about Jackson's real parents, they're about half a mile from here; in Beacon Hills Cemetery" tilting her head in a smug way and walks off leaving Stiles staring at the wall the previous werewolf was standing.

Immediately he starts following her not aware of the smirk of her face knowing her plans going perfectly taking on Marlo's confidence boost and using her advice really works.

"Wait, wait, wait, do you know how they died?" Stiles asks from behind the blonde.

"Maybe, if you tell me why you're so interested" Erica slowing down her walking pace now figuring it out; "It's him, isn't it?" Erica asks.

"What? Who, him who?" Stiles says playing dumb; "the test didn't work, but it's still him, it's Jackson" she says smugly walking off ready to tell her alpha.

Stiles stops with a wide open mouth in shock at he basically outed himself and let the girl figure it out and chases after her.

"You can't tell Derek or Marlo okay? There's a lot more to this that you don't know about" Stiles states following the blonde beta.

"Hmm" Erica hums; "And just because you got the alpha bite makeover doesn't give you a license to around destroying people" Stiles states.

"Why not? That's all anybody ever used to do to me; I used to have the worst crush in the world on you, yeah you Stiles and you never once even noticed me, exactly how you're noticing me right now; you wanna know who helped me become like this? Who gave me the confidence to be hot and seductive, your sister Stiles" Erica states.

As Stiles line of sight goes to the puddle of water leading out of the boys locker room.

Erica immediately catches on now averting her gaze there as well and noticing it.

She flinches Scott is thrown out of the door into the hallway with Jackson attacking him.

Erica and Stiles step into motion as soon as they see them; Erica grabbing Jackson and holding him back as for Stiles holding Scott back.

"What the hell's going on? hey enough. Enough" Mr Harris questions and states; walking over to the now crowded hallway where the teenagers are.

"What do you idiots think you're doing? Jackson; calm down; Mr McCall; you wanna explain yourself? Stilinski?" Mr Harris asks.

While another student named Matt says "You dropped this" aiming at Scott; Mr Harris immediately snatches the device up and says "You and you, Actually, all of you, detention at three o'clock".

Erica immediately glares at Scott and Stiles plus Allison for involving her in this incident.

She gets her phone out of her pocket and sends Marlo a quick text message saying she doesn't need to worry about picking her up at three anymore as she now has detention.

"Are you seriously texting right now Erica?" Stiles asks; "As a matter of fact I am, unlike some people I had plans after school, I just had to text them and let them know not to pick me up anymore" Erica seethes at the boy.

"Let me guess Marlo?" Scott asks quiet rudely. "Yes Marlo!" Erica says walking off in the other direction getting ready for detention at three; she just sighs deeply.

As detention begins the teens make ways into the library sitting down; Jackson mentions the restraining order having the teacher move Scott and Stiles to another table; after a while the boys talk about their plans and look at Erica who is just texting secretly on her phone and doing homework.

The others are sitting down doing something random as well; a few minutes after that Jackson rushes out of the classroom claiming he needs to get some water and the boys look over at a smirking Erica as she knows what's coming now Mr Harris walked out of the classroom as well making sure Jackson was okay.

Scott and Stiles immediately deciding against the teachers orders and get out of their seats and jump into the chairs across from Erica; "Stiles says you know how Jackson's parents died" Scott says looking at her.

"Maybe" Erica replies writing notes down in her notebook; "Talk" Scott demands; "It was a car accident; my dad was the insurance investigator and every time he sees Jackson drive by in his Porsche, he makes some comment about the huge settlement he'll be getting when he's eighteen" Erica says.

"So, not only is Jackson rich now—but he's getting richer at eighteen?" Stiles asks.

"Yep" Erica smugly says: "There's something so deeply wrong with that" Stiles says as Scott nods looking at Erica.

"You know what? I can try to find the insurance report in my dad's inbox—he keeps everything" Erica says getting her laptop and opening it up going into emails to check things over while both boys look at her but mainly Stiles as Scott is called to the principals office.

Leaving all of the students looking at the teenage boy who was just called in pity.

Allison and Scott share mutual glances worried about what the reasoning behind this was.

Jackson and Mr Harris eventually return back to the library; meanwhile Erica and Stiles are browsing through the emails trying to find answers; "Oh look at the dates" Stiles says after they find something.

"Passengers arrived at the hospital DOA; the estimated time of death nine-twenty-six pm, june fourteenth, nineteen-ninety-five" Erica reads aloud.

"Jackson's birthdays June fifteenth" Stiles states while Erica and him share a similar glance and sigh out loudly.

Mr Harris gets up to leave stating to the students in detention they're free to leave as soon as they're finished re-shelving the shelves in the library.

Scott returns from the threatening conversation with his girlfriends mother; Stiles fills them in on what both he and Erica found on her laptop.

"It means he was born after his mom died by C-section. They had to pull him out of her dead body" Stiles states as Scott and Allison listen carefully; "So was it an accident or not?" Allison asks.

"Word all of the report is inconclusive" Stiles says looking down; "What, his parents could've been murdered?" Scott asks as Stiles nods and says.

"Well, if they were then it falls in line with the kanima myth; you know seeks out and kills the murderers".

"But for Jackson or the person controlling him?" Allison wonders; sharing glances with the two teenage boys.

"We have to talk to him, we have to tell him" Scott says making his way over to where Jackson currently is.

"He's not gonna listen" Allison says but Scott doesn't listen and continues making his way over only finding a leftover book in the middle of the floor.

As an unconscious Matt lying on the floor with book's surrounding him; as Scott goes to investigate the slice on the back of the teenage boys neck; the glass shatters above him.

Jackson lunges around the library; in his wolf form now; he calls out to the only other wolf inside the library "Erica!".

Erica growls and protects herself from the shattering glass above her; not realising the kanima behind her slashing her neck now paralysing her; she yells out from the pain and collapses on the ground; alerting Scott and the others.

Scott standing in the way protecting both his girlfriend and best friend gets thrown against the book holder and groans out but immediately sits in front of both Stiles and Allison.

All watching Jackson now in the kanima's form writing on the board 'stay out of my way or i'll kill all of you' in big words; leaving the teens now it jumps out of the library's window.

Scott, Stiles and Allison look at the board and shudder in fear and disbelief that just happened.

Stiles now aware of Erica's bolting jolting; runs over checking on his classmate.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey" Stiles says alerting the couple; "I think she's having a seizure" Stiles states.

Scott rushes over helping the human boy with the werewolf, Allison checks on Matt checking if he still has a pulse; "He's alive" Allison says.

"We need to get her to a hospital" Stiles says, immediately declining the offer; Erica shakily says "Marlo and Derek; I need them" Scott listening tells his girlfriend.

"Okay, when we get her to the hospital" Scott goes to say but Erica says once again.

"Marlo and Derek, to them" Stiles looking at the girl in her arms not knowing what to do but Allison says looking at Scott; "Go".

Scott shaking his head runs around to his girlfriend and says "No, I'm staying with you." Stiles who is quite worried about Erica says urgently "No Scott", Scott looks at Allison and she says.

"He can't take her alone; not like this and Matt; I've gotta call an ambulance for him, just go", "This doesn't feel right" Scott says, "It's okay" Allison states.

After a conversation and a forehead kiss; Scott eventually gets up and helps Stiles pick Erica up to take her to Marlo and Derek.

As for Marlo and Derek they're just chilling around together for the day since they didn't really have anything to do except for him setting up for the full moon that's coming soon.

Marlo gets a text from Stiles explaining what's going on and asking where they're and Marlo being the mother she is immediately sends him the address her and Derek are currently letting Derek know what's going on also as both grown ups are ready to jump into action when they arrive; not even ten minutes later.

Scott and Stiles are rushing in with a panting and groaning girl looking puzzled and scared.

Derek immediately steps into action grabbing the seizing girl and putting her in the train and telling the other two while Marlo runs and grabs a few things.

A towel, wipes, water and spoon for the girl to bite down her while Derek does what his about to do, "Pull her up" Derek demands Stiles, the said boy immediately helps; Erica still breathing heavily mumbles out; "Mar, where's Mar".

Marlo steps into the girls vision and rests her head in her lap running her hands in her hair like a mother does when their child is sick.

Erica who is now a little relaxed knowing Marlo is in the train allows Derek and the other boys to help her out; "Is she dying?" Stiles asks. "She might; I, which is why this is gonna hurt" Derek says leaning down breaking the girls help.

Stiles who doesn't understand immediately shouts "You broke her arm!" Derek who doesn't get angry at the scared teenage boy says.

"It'll trigger the healing process; I still gotta get the venom out; this is where it's really gonna hurt" Derek says looking at Marlo seeing her teary eyed; she holds onto the girl with her super strength and nods for Derek to go ahead.

Derek squeezes out the venom causing Erica to scream out in agony and both Stiles and Scott to look at the girl worried; she soon collapses but is still conscious in Marlo's lap and looks up at the older woman and smiles.

Marlo rubs her forehead just letting the girl rest; Erica looks to the side where Stiles still is cramped over her; "Stiles; you make a good Batman" she says before rolling her head back on Marlo's lap.

Stiles and Scott breathe out in relief knowing the girl was going to be okay before mumbling out 'oh my god's' Derek who is wrapping the blonde betas arm incase the healing takes a while due to the amount of blood he had to squeeze out.

Marlo continues running her hands in the girls hair and forehead; whispering things to her. "You're okay E, you're okay" she says wiping her tears.

Derek sighs before getting up and leaving Marlo, Stiles and a passed out weak Erica in the abandoned train not before looking at Scott, the teenage beta gets to his feet almost immediately following the alpha out to discuss things.

"You know who it is" Scott says following him as Derek continues walking; the alpha turns around before looking over at the train Marlo and Stiles are in and sighs; "Jackson" he answers Scott's question.

"You just wanted Erica to confirm it, didn't you?" Scott asks and Derek nods before motioning his head over to the woman who's still holding Erica like a child; "She already knew too didn't she?" Derek asks.

"Yeah she was with us the other day when you ditched her at the club for god knows what" Scott says confused on why his sticking up for Marlo but he is.

Derek just sighs "I had an emergency" Derek states.

Scott just scoffs; "so you ditch her? Why's that Derek?" Scott can't help but ask; "She died Derek! Actually died in Stiles arms and you were no where to be seen!" Scott says frustrated.

"I had a family emergency and after biting Jackson at the club; I saw the argents" Derek says calmly.

"Marlo knows how sorry I am about the ditching thing; but can't say as much for you Scott; you broke her phone; you messed with the wrong woman to do that" Derek shrugs.

Scott just sighs growing tired of the conversation. "I'm gonna help you stop him as part of your pack" Scott says earning a shocked look from Derek.

"If you want me in it, then fine; but we do it on one condition; we're gonna catch him and not kill him" Scott says.

"And?" Derek asks folding his arms and raising an eyebrow at Scott in question; "And we do it my way;" He says.

As Stiles and Marlo sit in the train with Erica making sure she's okay; Marlo in like a mother like form.

Stiles looks at her in confusion on why she keeps tearing up and then nearly sobbing out; after talking with Derek.

Scott comes back in telling Stiles they're leaving now; Marlo promises him, Erica will be okay; so he does go willing; as for Marlo and her trauma in her past; she looks down at Erica and sobs not knowing Derek is only outside and just allows herself to feel for a while.

Four hours later and both Marlo and Derek help Erica inside Marlo's apartment in the guest bedroom knowing they don't have the time to explain this to her parents; she kisses Erica's head and closes the door.

Derek is waiting in the living room on her couch noticed the way Marlo is dazed and not paying attention; "Lo, what's wrong?" Derek asks walking towards her and rubbing her shoulder.

She flinches away from him; scared for his reaction in the next few minutes; she can't keep hiding this from him; he deserves to know.

She looks up at his face and it's shown his hurt by her flinching; "You won't want to touch me soon so I'm just gonna hug you for a second okay?" Marlo says.

Derek is beyond confused looks around and nods and lets the woman hug him; she snuggles into his chest and in like a squish tight hug; she mumbles "I'm sorry", now his even more confused; "Sorry about what, Lo?" Derek asks.

Her lips wobbles and mascara is running down her cheeks; "There's a reason why I acted the way I did tonight with Erica, Der" Marlo sobs out.

Derek rushes towards her to try and comfort her but she shrugs him off.

"Three years ago when we were together for those months, they were amazing and adventurous; between those cities; Paris, Rome and even London; there's a reason I ran away" Marlo says starting, "You might wanna sit down for this next part" She says.

He takes a seat on the couch beside her looking at her to continue; "The reason I ran away wasn't you Der, it was me" she mumbles tears dripping down her cheeks; "What do you mean, you?" Derek asks.

"I was pregnant; three years ago Derek; that's the reason after everything you couldn't get a hold of me" Marlo says finally saying it out loud to the man she should've told ages ago.

"Was?" Derek mumbles, "When I first took the test I was over the moon, I was ready to tell you and then everything turned to disaster" Marlo says sitting on the couch now.

"After I left you in Rome; Derek. I was followed over and over again by someone who wanted me dead, they poisoned me and I lost our baby and I never told you because I didn't want to go through that pain ever again; I was four months pregnant and the poison came out of no where and I don't remember much from the time but I do remember the blood, the pain, the agony I was in afterwards and I had no one! That's the reason I stopped replying; I blocked your number because I was miserable Derek; not because I regret it at all, I was scared you would hate me after I lost the baby; it was my fault" Marlo says now shaking and breaking down.

Derek looks up in shock and anger, he gets up and looks at Marlo not in disgust but in a way she never wanted him to look at with.

He grabs his coat and walks out of the apartment slamming the door in the process leaving a broken hearted Marlo behind breaking down on the floor beside her couch.

She doesn't hear her door opening until she feels arms wrap around her and whispering soothing things into her ears.

She looks up to find Isaac comforting her and over at the door Erica has just walked out of; she immediately starts sobbing in Isaac's arms.

Erica who is a little disoriented, immediately rushes over to her mother like—best friend figure and hugs her and shares a look with Isaac; they both grab onto the woman and help her up from the floor and take her into her bedroom and lay her down on the bed.

Isaac eventually leaves Erica in the room with Marlo and rushes downstairs to check on Derek.

He finds the loft door wide open and glass and things smashed everywhere and a sobbing Derek in the middle of the walkway.

Isaac rushes down to his Alpha and puts his hand on his shoulder showing his support.

The one thing Isaac never thought Derek would do happened; the sour wolf broke down and clung onto his beta.

"I don't know what happened; but I'm here for you; both of you" Isaac states; letting the man go and watches as he goes into the lofts bedroom and collapses onto his bed.

"I never got to know and it was all taken away from me" Derek mumbles.

While Erica finally calms the woman down and is asleep beside her; she grabs her phone and texts Stiles.

'hey; i know this text message is weird but thank you for earlier and i was wondering if you'd come to marlo's apartment; her and derek had a fight and she isn't coping very well and needs family right now - erica' she sends the message and waits a few minutes for response

'hi, it's not a problem at all erica, i wasn't going to let you die, yeah sure i'll be there as soon as i can - stiles'

She looks over to see the tear stained Marlo moving in her sleep whimpering about something she can't hear as it's inaudible sounds.

As both adults sleep the teens calm down and get people to come around for them, Derek manages things on his own but Isaac won't let that happen this time.

He stays in on his living room couch and hopes Marlo is okay, Stiles shows up a little while later and supports his sister in this time, all she can wonder is does Derek hate her for not telling him any of this and will he ever talk to her again? she really doesn't know; she has no tears left to cry and just feels numb but at least the truths out now.
