Chapter 1

-Second Book To "In The Stars"-

It's been several months since the prophecy. It was already the beginning of December. Masai's birthday was soon. 19. Sometimes it's sad to think he's older than me. Though when we're older I'm sure I will cherish being younger.

I've been living in the castle like I said I would. I still have my house back in reality though I hardly go there these days. Still, it's nice when I want to escape magic and demon.

Today I will officially be introduced to the kingdom. Though someone apparently knew what I look like and posted a picture of me in the news so I can barely step out of the castle without people smothering me. Hopefully it gets better after today.

I flipped the page of the book I was reading. I scanned the page for what I was looking for but found nothing.

I sighed. A stack of books sat on the desk next to me. A little less than half I had already scanned to no avail.

I flipped the page once more. I started to scan the page when I heard the door open.

I looked up from my book to see who was at the door. Masai walked in, a smile on his face.

I smiled as I saw him. "How you doing?" I asked cheerfully.

Masai walked up to me. "Good. You know, the ceremony is only in half an hour," Masai said, kissing my cheek.

"I know," I sighed. "Just hoped I would be lucky today."

"Kai, this isn't good for you to be studying day and night. It happened months ago. This light magic stuff is getting to you." Masai frowned, looking at the stacks of books on the desk.

"It calms me."

"It stresses you out." Masai was quick to reply.

"Even if it does I feel like I need to uncover this," I said.

Masai sighed. "I know. Just... Relax every once in a while, ok?"

I nodded. "I will."

"Good! Now why don't you go get ready. I left something special for you in your room," Masai said with a smile.

I smiled. "Ok!"

I stood up from my seat and kissed Masai on the cheek before heading to my room.

I designed the room myself. The walls were a deep teal that reminded me of the sea.

My bed was dark blue with a pretty light purple feather pattern and black pillows. I thought it looked pretty.

A silver lotus wall art hung above the head of the bed.

When facing it, to the right of my bed is a bedside table. A vase with the lotus flower Masai gave me sat on the desk. Also on the desk was my phone (which I hardly use) and a dark blue and silver moon lamp.

Next to that is the glass door to my balcony. Great view of the kingdom. I set a desk out there so I could read in the sun.

Across from my bed was the black door leading to my bathroom. Next to that was a bookcase filled with my favorite books.

To the left of my bed was my closet, the door black like the one to the bathroom. In-between the bookcase and my closet was the door that led out of my room.

I walked into my room. A dress laid on my bed. Was it the surprise from Masai?

I walked over to the bed and looked at the dress.

It was a sweetheart neckline, the top being plain dark blue while the skirt had multiple clearish layers of purples, pinks, and blues, making it look like a galaxy. There was a silver belt around the waist (princess waist) and a diamond moon in the center of it.

The dress was absolutely stunning. I don't think I've ever seen a dress so pretty. And yet... It's something I would never wear. Ok, so I might wear it at a wedding (my wedding) but that's it.

I frowned as I looked at the dress. Masai, I don't know what you're thinking.

I ignored the dress and headed out to my balcony. I had a book out there that might help me find what I was looking for.

As I walked out to the balcony I noticed and white box sitting on top of my desk. I walked up to it curiously. This wasn't here before.

I opened the box. Instantly I saw a piece of paper with writing on it.

I grabbed the paper and read it aloud to myself.

"I know the maids probably brought you some dress to wear so I got you this. Thought it would fit you better. It is usually used for fancy battles. Hope to see you wearing it today. Love Masai."

I smiled. I knew Masai wouldn't give me a dress. The maids on the other hand... I could believe that.

I looked back in the box. An outfit laid inside. I pulled out the top to look at it.

The shirt looked like it would be pretty slim, fitting to my body. One sleeve was short, going halfway from my shoulder to my elbow. The other was long and hooked around my middle finger in a point with a cold shoulder cut out.

The top was dark silver with light blue accents and designs. It was pretty. And it definitely suited me better than the dress.

The pants were the same pattern and color and seemed just as slim, going down halfway from my knee to my ankle. A black belt was also there for weapons and a small white and blue dagger.

I smiled as I looked at the outfit. Masai, you know me so well.

I grabbed the box and headed back inside to go change. I pulled the curtains so the glass door was covered before I changed.

As I suspected the outfit was tight to my body. Though it was comfortable. I looked at the blue and white dagger before sliding it into my belt.

I looked at myself in the mirror. With me wearing all dark the white dagger really popped.

My hair fell onto my shoulders, still being black with red tips. The ends have naturally started to curl a bit and I kinda liked it that way.

My eyes shown bright blue. After living in the Omin for so long my eyes now change from blue to red depending on my emotions or how I use magic.

I've been working on my hair to do the same and I think I'm close. Though today I'm going to use magic to transform it back to it's original brown with blue. That was my surprise for Masai.

I smiled at my reflection. I loved the outfit. It was comfortable, movable, and yet pretty. It was perfect for me!

I grabbed a brush and started to comb my hair. I was happy it wasn't just plain straight anymore. I liked that it slightly curled.

My hair was as long as ever. I loved having long hair. I always thought I would look goofy with short hair so I always kept it long.

I looked back at the mirror. I didn't look like someone who would become queen one day. Not at all.

My Tsuki features only come out when I'm mad or want to so I looked mortal. I wore no makeup and the only jewelry I had was my ruby and black diamond necklace that didn't even go with my outfit. I mean, the outfit itself is not even royal like!

I sighed. I wasn't dit to be a queen and I doubted I ever would. Though I don't think my love for Masai will ever break.

There was a knock at the door. Instantly I turned my head. "Come in," I called.

One of the maids came in and bowed. I could tell her whole body was tense. All the maids were like this around me or Masai. I didn't bring it up.

The maid looked me up and down with wide eyes. It was sudel but I caught it. She probably wondered why I was wearing a training uniform. Still, I liked it.

"Lord Masai is waiting for you downstairs. Your ceremony will start soon my lady," she said quietly, just loud enough for me to hear.

I nodded. "Thank you Jin. Please tell Masai I'm on my way," I excused her.

The maid, Jin as I learned was her name, bowed once more before scurrying off to tell Masai I was coming.

I looked back at my reflection. I scanned my body one last time before my eyes flicked to the white box that laid on my bed.

Inside the box, from the shadows, appeared a silver tiara with dark blue opals so it looked like a galaxy. A small note appeared next to it.

I smiled as I picked up the note and read it out loud.

"I know you're not that into jewelry and that kind of stuff but when I saw this I instantly thought of you. Hope you where to the ceremony. Love, your Lord."

I burst into laughter. "My Lord?" I chuckled.

You know what? That wouldn't be a bad nickname for Masai. He already has grown to call me cheerleader. Time for me to give him a nickname.

I picked up the tiara, setting it atop my head. It fit well I must admit.

I looked back at the mirror. Blush instantly spread across my face. My smile widened. Perfect!
