In which sometimes people manipulate themselves.
They laid down in bed, holding each other in each one another's arms, as if letting go meant that they would disappear from their grasp. She combed her fingers through the strands of his raven hair, untangling the very few knots placed here and there. A mellow and soft hum escaped her lips, sending a plethora of comfort to bloom within his chest.
Suddenly his chest became tight, the need to cry rushed over his body though he never cries; she took notice of this. "Rin, are you alright?" She asked as his grip on her grew tighter ever so slightly, not enough to physically hurt her, but instead enough to pour his emotions onto her, looping amongst her heartstrings.
"I'm not good enough for you." His voice was a mere whisper. She couldn't believe that he felt this way, though she wasn't mad, nor was she upset in any way. The female let out a low laugh, "Oh Rin, I honestly don't know what to say to this."
The raven haired teenage boy curiously raised an eyebrow. Was she about to smear pity across his face?
"Rin. My beautiful, handsome, very talented boyfriend. You're so very amazing and admirable. To me, you're not known as Itoshi Sae's little brother, pfft, who needs that jerk anyway? You're known as Itoshi Rin, the most extraordinary football player out there. I don't care if you see yourself as 'cold' or 'blunt', in my eyes you're the kindest person I've ever met. You're always there when I need it, and I appreciate you for that." She exaggerated her words in an attempt to lighten the damp mood. "I love you so so so much and I'm super happy with you and ONLY you! Don't even dare think that I would be better without you, or that you're not good enough. I'm serious."
Rin let out a chuckle, a rare smile laced his thin lips, lighting euphoria within his girlfriend. "Thank you, [Y/N]. I needed that. And I'm sorry too."
[Y/N] kissed the side of his lips, "No worries. Besides, everyone needs a bit of reassurance from time to time, right?"
AUTHOR'S NOTE
i'm so done with putting fancy descriptions in my work, it's tiring and very draining... so just expect my writing style to change within the next several one shots (i'll also try to write longer chapters)
