Prisoner...

Narrator's POV

Ciel Phantomhive hummed as he walked down the hallway from the secret set of stairs that lead to Undertaker's lab.

The reaper had been showing him some very infesting things like what the inside of a human eyeball looked like and now the undead teen was ready to go spend time with his beloved twin.

So, when he arrived to the library where Astre had said he would be waiting for him, he was suprised to see it vacant.

But, not deterred, as Astre might have decided to retire to their bedroom to rest since it was nearly midnight, Ciel went down the hall to their shared bedroom.

Much to his surprise, Astre was not there either.

Ciel knew the public party was tonight, so perhaps Astre had gone down there to enjoy a few post-dinner sweets before bed.

When he began to go down the main stairs towards the ballroom, he came across Elizabeth and Sieglinde and asked if they had seen Astre.

"No, we did not see him at all and we were there the whole time." Sieglinde replied

"And the party just finished so no one is there." Lizzy added, "Besides the servants cleaning up."

Believing that his cousin and her lover had not noticed his twin, Ciel went to Blavat and asked him if he saw Astre.

"I have not see Lord Sirius the Younger since before the party, my lord." The fortune teller replied, "If he is not in your chambers or the library perhaps he is in my office finishing up his company's paperwork."

Going there with the lavender haired man, Ciel was frustrated that Astre was not there either.

Blavat was concerned as well and had the entire Music Hall searched in their efforts to locate the missing Star Lord.

Unfortunately, he was nowhere to be found.

So, he had either left on his own or was kidnapped.

And since Astre rarely did anything without Ciel knowing about it, it was definitely the latter.

Astre Phantomhive groaned as he woke up in an unfamiliar room.

Rubbing his functional eye, he looked around and instantly knew he was in a wealthy household simply by the decor.

Trying to get off the bed, his efforts were thwarted by the chain keeping his left ankle connected to the bed post.

He wondered why he had been captured and whom the black haired man was working for.

His questions were slightly answered when a blond teen dressed as a noble walked in.

"Hi! I am Earl Alois Trancy!" The taller boy introduced, "Who are you?"

Astre now knew that the people who captured him did not know of his lineage, so why kidnap him?

"That depends, why have you kidnapped me?" The blunette asked

"Well it is a mess I do not really want to go into, but basically we are holding you hostage so your group surrenders Lizzy to us." Alois answered

"And what makes you think this Lizzy you speak of is even there?" Astre asked

"We tracked her there," Alois replied, "we know she is, do not play stupid."

"Even if she is there, what makes you think I am important enough to get them to hand her over for me?" The undead teen questioned

That seemed to catch the blond by surprise, "I do not know, but we will try anyways. So tell me who you are!"

Not wanting to give his real name nor his title in the cult, he answered, "You may address me as Starshine."

Astre knew that Ciel would understand why he used their special nickname instead of his real names, but then again his lover had a jealous streak that had no rival.

"Starshine, huh, that a code name or something?" Alois asked, "I have a code name too! I am the Queen's Spider."

That intrigued the blunette as his own family had been the Queen's Watch Dog —it made sense for her to have multiple families protecting the masses from the criminal underworld but how had the families never interacted before?

After a few moments of awkward silence, Alois asked, "Why is Lizzy at a music hall?"

Astre did not answer that nor any other questions, which eventually made Alois get bored and leave.

***

Like many people had learned before, it was never a good idea to let Ciel get bored.

What most people did not realize, is that Ciel's anger was so much worse than his boredom.

Three servants had already learned that in the last two hours, the would-be Earl refusing to go to sleep while his twin was missing.

Everyone had tried to convince him to rest, that he could better find Astre after resting and that they needed to wait for a ransom, but Ciel refused.

He could not rest until his other half was returned to him.

Unfortunately, because of how stressed and tired he was, Ciel passed out in need of a transfusion.

A full twenty four hours after Astre was taken, while Ciel was still bed bound awaiting his transfusion to finish, the ransom letter arrived...
