The cyborg leers down at Silas's unconscious form as his ship settles into more smooth flight with the launch behind us.

Unknowing to him, I stare back through Silas's cyborg eye, sizing him up even as he takes in Silas.

I calculate when would be the best time to strike once I finish downloading the controls for the rest of Silas's mechanical system, even as my physical body hooks into the controls of a ship it's not used to. It syncs quickly, since they are the same model, just different years, and acclimates to the process quickly.

My hologram, however, is still facing its job with some difficulty.

Orion scrubs his face. "He was only on Eros for what, five minutes?"

"Seventeen earth minutes, sir."

He waves my words again, accidentally flapping his hand through my hologram. "Same difference."

I refrain from correcting him.

Not looking up from scrubbing his face, Orion asks, "Where are they taking him?"

"I don't have that intel yet. But I did trigger Silas's GPS in his spine to give off his location. I have a smaller ship zoning in on him."

"And ours?"

"Coordinates are aligned, captain. You don't even have to ask."

Orion sighs heavily and drops his hands. "Finally, some good news."

Killa looks up from where she was staring at her meal. "It'll be even better news if we can rescue the boy before his father wakes up because I, for one, don't want to be the one to tell him the news."

Nicholas turns to her, over his own empty plate. "Why not? You already got to be the one to knock his lights out."

"Exactly. I've done enough violence to that poor man for one day."

"Just make sure he is securely buckled," I say. "We might have to break a few speed limits."

"Good thing we're cops," Nicholas says, going to check on Reverend Shipping, or at least that is what the best outcome would be.

Orion brings his hat down firmly on his head. "And that there aren't any speed limits in space."
