first day back
Allure lowly sung along to All The Way Home by Tamar Braxton as she pulled into her Aunt Isla's driveway. The teen released a sigh as she got out of the Bronco. She grabbed as much as she could and made her way up the pavement.
Pursing her full lips, the teen walked up the driveway and raised her hand to knock, but instead was met with the door swinging open and being pulled into a bear crushing hug.
"Can't... Breathe." She told her aunt in between short breaths. Isla quickly pulled back and pulled her niece inside with a big bright smile.
"How are you? And how's your dad?" The older woman asked the brown-skinned girl as they walked into the big somewhat dirty kitchen.
"Hey so, let's call him and ask!" Allure exclaimed with a straight face.
Isla looked at back at the teen, taking note of the sarcasm. "Y'know... You don't have to hate him for sending you down here."
"I don't hate him. I just wanted an explanation, but he was acting like it was so hard." The teen grumbled as she took a seat at the empty table.
"Did you ever try to think about why it was so hard to explain?" Her aunt asked as she sat a cup of tea down in front of her.
Allure shook her head. "No. It just felt like he was just kicking me out with no explanation."
Isla inhaled before rushing out, "I told him to send you down here. But it was for your own good! Because soon, you'll be awakening your gifts and I'll be there to help so you wont have to face it all alone."
"They already started coming through." The teen informed her aunt after counting to three to calm down. She then started staring out the window. "Some came through when I was at poms practice. The lockers kept opening and shutting and the lights kept flickering. I had to leave early because I was sick. Then I was basically damn near kicked out and forced here."
Isla only nodded. "Right. Wellll, at least you have someone to help you rather than someone who has no experience." She started off. "Do you want to go out back and practice?"
"Probably later." Allure answered as she stood up. "I still have to unpack sadly."
"Ok. I'll call you down when lunch is finished."
The teen hummed in acknowledgement before walking down the hallway and into the bedroom that had her name on the door.
