@LlynWildr

What type of graphics do you make, and which type is your favorite?

I make banners (for characters, quotes, and chapters), profile headers, and mainly covers. My favorite is probably cover making, mostly because of how much room for creativity there is.

How long have you been designing graphics?

I've been designing graphics for maybe two months at most-- I'm still in the startup phase, as I don't have too many readers/viewers yet (I'm going to go ahead and say that graphic book readers are now 'viewers').

How did you start?

I started making graphics mostly to help my friend @MulanJiang out with her graphics shop. She introduced me to Pixlr, Phonto, PicsArt, and a few more apps, all of which I still use. It was really fun, so I decided to make my own shop, Llyn's Graphics.

What is your favorite part about graphic design?

I'd have to say that my favorite part about graphic design is having the ability to make any idea come to life on a cover. There's also that gigantic amount of time I spend looking for images to use for the covers-- that's pretty fun, too :)

Where do you get your inspiration?

As far as inspiration goes, I'd have to say that I get inspired by book covers I see out in the library (yes, libraries still exist, and people actually go there)... or from books I've seen in the past.

How long does a graphic typically take you?

When I first started out, graphics took me a couple of hours simply because I was still trying to get a good idea of how to make a graphic. They still take me several hours each, but now, that is because I want them to look as good as possible before finishing them, and also because of the time looking for images to use... it takes up a surprisingly big amount of time.

What advice would you give aspiring designers?

If I had to give one piece of advice to aspiring designers, I'd say that it's alright if you start out slow. You don't have to be perfect right from the get-go, and I can say from experience that the more graphics you make, the better and better you get, so don't worry if you think your graphics aren't as good as you want them to be. With a little time, you can do it!

A fun fact about yourself:

I am a huge fan of the BBC show Merlin-- it's pretty great... :) Anyone else?
