@OrangeDusk

What type of graphics do you make and which is your favorite?

I juggle fantasy and science fiction mostly. But, fantasy is my favourite.

How long have you been designing graphics?

It's been a year now, I suppose. (Wow! Didn't even realize! xD)

How did you start?

How did I start? *points at Rachel* Her covers filled me with so much inspiration you cannot imagine! The first time I'd seen her cover was back in 2015 when I was very much new to wattpad. I recall Franny using one of her covers on her book Mist Bound (previously Spirited in Mist). I absolutely loved it! That cover was like the first love of my life! Ever since then, I made a point to stalk her graphic book, her tutorial book, her imgur account. Everything! I wanted to make graphics like she did. That's how I started. All thanks to Rachel, honestly. <3

What is your favorite part about graphic design?

My favourite part would be the entire process of making a graphic. Like the blending, the colouring and just...everything. Who knew those simple stocks we use could be turned into something so much more fantastical and beautiful? It's nothing less than magic, honestly.

Where do you get your inspiration?

My source of inspiration varies from time to time. It could be a novel, a movie or just a lonely tree standing erect in the middle of a field xD It could be anything.

How long do graphics typically take you?

That too differs from one graphic to another. For example a simple manipulation might consume one hour. While a complex one might take up four hours or more.

What advice would you give aspiring designers?

Like every other designer have stated before, I presume, don't ever give up!

"Yeah everyone says that. So what's the big deal, Jenna? How do I improve?" you might ask. Well, honestly I would say a few things. First off, be proud of your graphics, no matter how trashy you assume them to be. Let your imagination run wild. Stalk designers, (that helps. A LOT) because that's where you'll learn from.

Take every chance of watching live streams when designers host one. LS is like a free ticket to snatching away secrets xD But, the reality is, that's how you improve! Yes, you might want to compare yourself with the best designers out there, but don't ever demean your work. There's a difference between demeaning and looking for obvious faults. And lastly, practise. Practise as much as you can, for as long as you can.

Do not ever give up thinking you're not good enough. Trust me I've been there and done that, but those thoughts never help. Try competing with your own self, but never belittle your work. You don't know the abilities that's there within you, as cheesy as it might sound lol xD

A fun fact about yourself:

I am the Queen of Tartarus. That's all you need to know. Ciao! ;)
