@RosyKun

Time for another interview with a very talented designer RosyKun!

What type of graphics do you make, and which type is your favorite?
I make covers, threads, icons and manipulations. My favorite type is threads because I think it’s a great way to showcase your style. You’re also not restricted by Wattpad’s image quality, you can make it any length you want, and you can use gifs. These factors make threads very fun to do!

How long have you been designing graphics?
I’ve made graphics for about six to seven years. I made a few in 2013 and in 2014-2015 started making them more consistently.

How did you start?
I was exploring the Wattpad clubs and came across the multimedia designs club. I looked through the various shops and threads posted there and though it’d be fun to try it out. Up until this point I only checked out the café, so this was like a whole another world. For my first few graphics I used like four different sites for different things (text, filters, etc.). Thinking back, I don’t know why I did that because I knew what Photoshop was and used it before lmao.

What is your favorite part about graphic design?
The freedom! There is so many kinds of graphics and styles you can do. It’s like there’s something for everyone here because you’re not restricted to only one thing.

Where do you get your inspiration?
Music and games! If you read the text on my graphics most of them are some song reference or lyric.  I’ll usually listen to music that’s the same mood as the graphic I’m working on. Just to make me a bit more inspired when working. To add on, I’ve grown up with games, so they’ve had a big impact on me. I personally find nothing more inspiring then games and their designs. The ui/ux designs on some games are so amazing and instantly give me inspiration.

How long does a graphic typically take you?
It depends on how much motivation and inspiration I have while I’m making a graphic. If I have the motivation and inspiration, it takes me a few hours. If I don’t have either it takes me days, mainly because I won’t work on anything if I don’t feel like it (unless I have a deadline).

What advice would you give aspiring designers?
Learn your program and practice. If you know how to work your program, you can do anything! It’ll help get rid of several limitations you may face as a new designer. By practicing you get used to your program and will learn something new that will aid you in your next design. Without practice you won’t develop into a better designer. Make mistakes, learn from them and improve. Also watch a lot of tutorials! I’m sure there’s something useful you find in them.

A fun fact about yourself:
My music taste is very mixed, I love rock but also will jam out to some rap or 90’s pop.
