What type of graphics do you make and which is your favorite?

I make graphics that range to all kinds such as covers, banners, bookmarks, and even book jackets! GIF banners, both simple and complicated, are my favorite type of graphics by far and blends are a lot of fun too once I gather ideas.

How long have you been designing for?

I have the worst memory known to human kind so I'm not too sure for how long I've been doing graphics. I believe I officially began doing them for a year and a half so I'm fairly new at it.

How did you start?

Other people may have amazing stories on how they started designing but mine is by far the most common of them all. I downloaded Wattpad on 2015 and I immediately began to write a book, even though it was the worst thing that I've ever created. I never knew much about the designing community and making book covers never caught my attention ( look at me now, yikes I'm obsessed ) but once Wattpad notified me that I had to make a book cover, I tried making one. Being me, I try to make everything perfect and I didn't want to make a bad graphic. I downloaded an app called Write Behind and I made my first ever book cover! It was titled The Eye Of The Dragon and the background was a dark forest. I felt semi proud but I didn't want to make anymore covers other than that one. I deleted the app until someone asked me to make them a cover and I agreed thinking that I was a graphic God when clearly I wasn't. I enjoyed making the cover for the requester and I decided to open up a cover shop with my terrible apps. Eventually time passed and I got PicsArt until I transitioned on the app Superimpose. I used that app for most of my time of designing until I bought my own laptop. I recently got Photoshop a few weeks ago and I'm currently practicing on it. Hopefully I improve to further my skills.

What is your favorite part about graphic design?

What I like best about graphic design is that you are able to create things that are unimaginable and let your creativity go free. This knowledge of design that I have can help me later in life and I will be able to use it to my advantage. One example is that I'll be designing own quinceñera invitation so that's exciting. In addition, the designing world let's you meet hundreds of people that share the same passion as you and I've made many friends on Wattpad thanks to designing. Lastly, it's a time waster so if I'm bored I can just grab my iPad or laptop and make a graphic.

Where do you get your inspiration?

I get my inspiration from everywhere! Pinterest is a gold mine for seeing other graphics and it also allows you to find good photos for what you're making. The real world also helps me design and come up with ideas so they don't come out like trash, a lot of my nature themed covers are from something I've seen while I went outside or went hiking so that's fun. Music occasionally gives me ideas from time to time. I open up Spotify and I listen for hours while ideas spread in my head like a wildfire.

How long do graphics typically take you?

Depends what type of graphic I'm doing but it always takes more than an hour because I like to be extra and add little textures and overlay. Even if the cover or graphic is simple it will still take me a while to create and don't get me started on how hard it is to find good pictures for a graphic. The search is quite hard for me. 

What advice would you give aspiring designers? 

The worst thing you can do to yourself when it comes to designing is comparing yourself to other people. Don't try to become someone else and just be you! You can't compare yourself to someone who has 15 years of experience when you have 1 year so just practice, practice, practice! Speaking from experience, I've held myself back by thinking that I could never be good as someone else and I didn't improve at all that way. Have fun without the thought of supposedly being a bad designer.

A fun fact about yourself: 

I'm a simple person. I see a stupid meme and I laugh. Don't hesitate to message me dumb things because I'll probably return the favor. I also love popcorn with my entire life. I could eat ten bags without getting full if I wanted to and in addition, I'm gain no weight whenever I eat a lot. I could eat a horse and I would still be considered underweight by the doctors. I'm also an animal lover with cheetahs being my all time favorite animal!
