Human Waste
I breathe through my gills, lodged in the underbelly of the Earth, careful not to strike my figure against the grassy borders. I see a school to my left of identically colored and spotted figures who follow their bigger leader, forming circular motions that only serve to twist them around and around and around, like the shape of my eyes. I swim closer to see what all the fuss is about, but they swim away as a result. But now I see it. On the bottom of the ocean floor I see a coral-like structure that does not have the vividness of my environment, and spots of yellow emanating from it. It contaminates my holy water, and the gills I use to breathe stall ever so slightly. Instinctually, I swim away. As I maneuver through the twists and turns of that beauty of the coral reef unlike that filthy object, I feel the blue growing smaller by the day. It turns into the circle of the school that I saw before, shrinking from all sides. The smell has followed me.
I bump into the rock and I hear nothing but bubbling and circular motion.
