【SEASON 6 EPISODE 12: PART TWO】
When Jules ran into the hospital with Robby and Miguel, she was shocked to see her godfather, Bobby, standing in the waiting room with her dad, Rosa, Daniel and Amanda. Even though Jules was a little confused about the LaRusso's being there, she smiled at her godfather.
"Uncle Bobby!"
Bobby, who was talking to Johnny, turned when he heard Julianna's voice and immediately smiled when he saw the girl running up to him.
"Hey, kiddo!" Bobby groaned as Jules pounced into his arms. He quickly returned Julianna's hug and ran his hand up and down her back.
When they pulled away, Julianna looked up at the man with a confused smile. "What are you doing here?" Jules asked, her eyes moving back and forth between Bobby and her dad.
"Here to officiate your dad and Carmen's wedding." Bobby said with a big smile.
From behind him, Johnny's head dropped as Julianna's eyes widened. She blinked in shock, completely frozen. "Here to what my dad and Carmen's what?"
The three teens and Bobby all turned to Johnny, who refused to make eye contact with any of the kids. "I haven't told them yet..." Johnny whispered harshly to Bobby. From Julianna's right, Robby started to smile at his dad. "You're gonna ask Carmen to marry you?" He asked as his smile grew completely.
Johnny relaxed when he realized Miguel and Robby were happy about his plan. He already knew Jules was completely on board with the idea of him marrying Carmen. She had been making jokes about it since the day she saw Carmen walk out of his bedroom. His smile was just as big as Robby's when he nodded.
And the smile was wiped clean from his face when Jules smacked his arm.
"And you didn't get my advice?" Jules reprimanded, hitting her dad on the arm with every syllable she spoke. Johnny winced, jumping back and holding his arm away from Jules.
"We agreed I would help you with the proposal!" Jules groaned and Johnny's shoulders practically raised to touch his ears defensively. "You were busy!" Johnny defended, whispering so Carmen wouldn't hear them from down the hall. He quickly looked back at the woman's hospital room
before he turned back to his daughter, pointing back at it with his thumb. "Now, can I go in there and propose?"
Even though Jules was bummed she didn't get to help her dad with the proposal, she was excited for him and Carmen nonetheless. She smiled up at her dad, rolling her eyes playfully. "Fine."
As Johnny started to walk toward Carmen's room, Jules turned around to Miguel with a smile that spread across her entire face. "Our parents are getting married! We're gonna officially be siblings!" Jules cheered like an excited little kid. She had her hands clasped together and resting under her chin as she bounced on her toes.
Miguel playfully rolled his eyes, but Jules could see the smile he was fighting to keep off his face. "She could say no..." He muttered teasingly, his smile finally breaking through as he spoke and Julianna's smile dropped. She smacked Miguel's shoulder.
"Shut up! She's gonna say yes." She grumbled as Rosa walked up to the three with a big smile on her face. She moved to Miguel first, grabbing both of his shoulders and leading him to his moms hospital room.
Jules and Robby trailed behind Miguel and Rosa, her hand clasped tightly in her twins beside her. The LaRusso's were following behind her, but Julianna's main focus as soon as she walked into the room was Carmen in her hospital bed. The woman's jaw dropped as she watched everyone walk in and Jules gave her a soft smile, waving to her.
"I know this probably isn't how you imagined your wedding day. We can do a big celebration later at Don Cuco's if you want. But right now, I wanna be your husband." Johnny whispered, grabbing one of Carmen's hands in both of his. Jules smiled at her fathers words and Robby let go of her hand to wrap his arm around her shoulder.
"Everybody who I love is here." Carmen muttered, her voice cracking as she looked around the room. When her eyes landed back on Johnny, she squeezed his hand and smiled. "Let's do this." She whispered, her smile wide.
They turned back to Bobby, nodding their heads to silently tell him to start.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of two remarkable people, who will remain best friends no matter what the future brings." Bobby started and immediately, Jules felt a hand grab hers as she started to tear up.
Julianna's head snapped down and she relaxed when she saw Miguel's hand interlocked with hers. She slowly lifted her head to look up at the boy and smiled when she saw he was tearing up too.
As tears started to cloud her vision more, Jules turned back to her dad and Carmen, resting her head on Miguel's shoulder and squeezing his hand.
"Who will help one another one another grow into strong individuals."
At the All Valley Sports Center, Lexi raised her leg to kick Tory, Joey and Sam screaming at Tory to block or dodge it.
Just before the kick could land, Tory grabbed Lexi's leg and pulled the smaller girl toward her.
As Lexi came hurdling toward her, Tory had no time to hit Lexi before the brunette fell on top of her. The two girls hit the mat with a loud thumb and a handful of giggles. Sam and Joey slowly walked over to the girls on the floor, both of them holding back their own laughs as they watched the two girls roll on the floor.
When their laughter started to die down, Tory and Lexi turned to each other. Thinking the same thing, they both started to turn to Joey and Lexi standing above them, still giggling.
"Help us up!" Tory and Lexi giggled out, Tory holding an outstretched hand from Sam or Joey to grab.
Joey laughed as Sam took Tory's hand to pull her up. He shook his head and he tried to maneuver away from the girls as Tory started to tug Sam onto the floor with them. "Oh, I'm not falling for tha–"
Joey was cut off by Lexi and Tory kicking his crutches out from under him and as he started to fall, they all readjusted to catch the boy, all of them laughing.
"Who will choose to set aside their differences to forge something beautiful. Because marriage is about family. The people we choose to surround ourselves with and whom we support each and every day. By choosing to be married, you're committing to this family that you've built for the rest of your days." Bobby said before his eyes moved away from the couple to look around the room. To the kids and to Rosa. "And I can say, without question, it's a badass family."
Jules giggled, using this small break of laughter to wipe her eyes with her free hand. She sniffed as she dropped her hand almost immediately, it was picked up by Robby, who squeezed it tightly.
Julianna felt more tears brim her eyes as Bobby's smile settled on her dad. "Johnny... do you take Carmen to be your wife?"
Johnny's smile was so wide, Jules couldn't stop herself from smiling just as wide as him. He looked down at Carmen and let out a breathy chuckle.
"Hell yeah. I do."
Miguel's shoulders shook as he chuckled, making Jules head her head resting on them bounce up and down. She didn't mind though, she was too focused on Bobby turning his attention to Carmen.
"Carmen, do you take Johnny to be your husband?" He asked and Julianna's entire body buzzed with nerves as she waited for Carmen's answer. The woman's smile was soft as she looked up at Johnny and Jules finally let herself relax.
"I do."
Jules wasn't sure if her hands were hurting because she was squeezing Miguel and Robby's hands so tight or because they were. She had to force herself to clamp her mouth closed so she didn't make any excited squeal or laugh and ruin the moment.
Bobby's eyes made the mistake of moving to the three kids standing behind Johnny and when his eyes landed on Jules, he couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at the girls excitement and he turned back to his best friend since high school, his smile somehow growing in this moment.
"Then by the power vested in me by the state of California and the city of Burbank, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Johnny Lawrence, you may now kiss your bride." Bobby hummed and as the couple kissed, Jules smiled. She was so happy for her dad and for Carmen.
When Carmen and Johnny pulled away from their kiss, Camden hissed in pain, her hands shooting to her stomach. Miguel instantly let go of Julianna's hand, he, Johnny, and Rosa taking a step toward her worriedly.
"What?" Johnny whispered as Carmen tried to catch her breath. After a couple seconds, she looked up with wide eyes and a nervous smile.
"The baby's coming." She breathed out and in seconds, Julianna was grabbing Miguel by the sleeve of his shirt with one hand and pushing Robby toward the door with the other. "Alright, everybody! Get out! Let the woman have her privacy!" She screamed, not noticing Daniel and Amanda laughing at her eagerness.
As soon as she was out of the room, Julianna's stomach started to churn.
Soon her baby sister was gonna be here.
...
Julianna's leg bounced the entire three hours she waited for Carmen to be okay. She sat beside Robby, who fiddled with his hands almost all three hours. When Jules started to watch To All the Boys I've Loved Before on her phone, she felt Robby get more comfortable in his seat beside her so he could watch.
Eli was texting Jules for updates every half hour. Asking how she was, Carmen was, if the baby was here yet, if she needed him to come over—anything that would get him the chance to keep texting her.
He sent a photo of him, Joey, Lexi, Demetri all on Demetri's couch and the text underneath that said they were all waiting for an update.
Jules smiled at the text and as she opened her keyboard to respond, her dad walked out of the delivery room out of breath with a big smile on his face.
She completely disregarded the message, sitting up straighter and accidentally knocking her shoulder into Robby's head since he was resting his head there. She muttered a small, a "sorry" to him before she turned back to her dad.
Johnny smiled at all the eyes watching him, but when his eyes landed on his daughter, his smile doubled in size. He knew how excited Jules was for this baby–to have a baby sister. She didn't have the best chance at siblings growing up, but she always used to ask him "when will you and mommy make up so Robby and I can have another sibling?"
"You guys ready to meet her?" Johnny asked, his voice shaking from both the smile on his face and the overall nerves and excitement that the baby was finally here!
Jules was the first on her feet, pushing Robby off of her. "Move! I need to meet my little sister!" Jules looked around the waiting room chairs and reached out to grab Rosa's hand, gently tugging her to stand up.
"Rosa! Come on!" Jules squealed and the woman chuckled, holding Julianna's hand a little tighter as the blonde started to tug her toward the room.
"I'm coming, princesa! I'm coming!" Rosa chuckled, looking back at Robby and Miguel still sitting. She cursed under her breath and gestured frantically for them to hurry up and follow her and Jules.
When Jules and Rosa walked into the hospital room, Julianna's eyes softened when she saw the small baby cradled in Carmen's hands. Her steps moved a little faster and once she reached the woman's bedside, Juliannas attention moved from her baby sister to Carmen.
"Are you okay?" Jules asked and Carmen smiled at the question bashfully. She gently nodded her head as a breathy chuckle left her lips. "I'm okay, sweetheart." She whispered reassuringly and Jules slowly nodded.
"She's beautiful." Rosa cooed, making Jules finally look down and face the baby in Carmen's hands.
As soon as her eyes landed on her sister, Julianna felt all the air leave her lungs. A small gasp passed through her lips and she felt her heartbeat grow harder. She could feel it in her chest, her fingertips, her ears. Everywhere. Julianna didn't move—maybe she couldn't from the shock and awe of the baby sleeping peacefully in Carmen's arms.
"This is your sister, Laura." Carmen hummed, looking between Jules, Miguel, and Robby, who were all crowded around the bedside now to hunch over the little girl.
Jules felt her heart lurching at Carmen's words. Her head snapped up from Laura and to Carmen, her eyes wide and her lips parted. Carmen smiled and nodded her head as a silent way to tell Jules it was true.
Miguel turned to face Jules, his eyebrows pinching together, confused by her reaction. He watched as her eyes moved to her dad, who was slowly walking to join the three teens by Carmens bedside.
"Like Grandma Laura..." Jules breathed out and Johnny nodded, wrapping an arm around his daughter's shoulder, pulling her into his chest. Julianna hugged her dad, but her eyes stayed glued on Laura.
"She's perfect."
Johnny hummed, rubbing his hand up and down Julianna's forearm. He squeezed her tighter, unintentionally pulling her closer into his embrace and with his other hand, he grasped Robby's shoulder and squeezed again because for a small moment, the guilt and regret of not being at the twins birth flashed through his mind.
But when Jules and Robby both looked up at him and smiled, both completely happy in the moment, Johnny let himself be happy too. He took a small step forward, pulling Jules with him since his arm was still around her.
He and Julianna leaned down to get closer to the baby's face and he smiled. "Welcome to the Valley, Laura. Your siblings and I are gonna bring you home a trophy." Johnny whispered, Jules instantly smirking at his words.
"Hell yeah, we are." She hummed, holding her hand out for Robby to high five and without even looking away from
Laura, Robby returned the high five and wrapped a lazy arm around her shoulder to rest some of his weight on her.
