Date gone wrong
As I screamed, I felt a strange force pulling me out of my dream. I saw the guys trying desperately to pull me back to them, but it was too late. I woke up.
When I awoke I saw Aidou looking at me worriedly before he let out a sigh of relief,
"Finally! I was worried that something was wrong. Are you alright?"
He asked as he studied me more closely. I backed up slightly as I answered,
"Yeah I'm fine. I just had a bad dream. Why?"
I knew my response came out fast, but I ignored it. The blonde smiled comfortingly at me,
"Just making sure is all. You screamed in your sleep and I was worried about you."
He said with a kind ton. I smiled back, mind still reeling from the dream, but part of my mind told me not to tell him about it. He began to stand up once he saw that I was okay,
"I'll meet you at the gate at 10:00. I'll let you get ready. See you then!"
His voice was cheerful as he made his way out of the room. I smiled,
I guess I should get ready,
I thought as I put on a pair of black leggings with a plum v-neck and a misty gray cardigan. I quickly put on a little mascara, threw on my black converse, and went to meet him at the gate. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched, but brushed it off as anxiety over spending the day with Hanabusa. When I arrived at the gate, I saw him standing there in a baby blue t-shirt, dark blue jeans, and a black jacket. When he saw me he smiled brightly,
"Hi Y/N! You look great!"
I giggled slightly at his excited tone and replied,
"Thanks! So do you."
He smiled again as he opened the gate,
"Shall we go, Milady?"
I smiled happily and nodded as the two of us headed out into town, talking about random stuff the whole way.
After about half an hour of walking around town, we both decided to stop in a small café that he was interested in trying. We placed our orders at the counter and brought them to a small bistro table in front of the window. Once we sat down, Hanabusa to question me,
"So Y/N I was wondering, did you ask Rido why he wanted you? I know you figured that it was a trap for Lord Kaname, but did you ask him?"
I blinked in surprise at his question, knowing I couldn't tell him the truth. I quickly devised a lie in my head,
"No, I didn't ask. Why?"
"Because I want to know why a man like that wants a girl like you. When Lord Kaname found out that you were missing, all the glass in the room shattered."
"Really?"
I asked in surprise, knowing full well that Kaname knows my history with Rodi and that I was in no danger. But then again, he had no way of knowing that it was Rido that had me. Hanabusa nodded seriously,
"Yeah he was really upset about it. That's why he called in Zero to help find you."
"Is it because Zero is a vampire hunter?"
I inquired. Hanabusa nodded again,
"Yes, he can sniff out a vampire a mile away."
I raised a questioning eyebrow,
"If that's so, then why did it take him so long to realize that I'm a vampire? When he took me outside he was very kind to me. Then he looked in my eyes and started saying that I'm evil or something."
Hanabusa laughed,
"I remember that! You bitched him out pretty good. What'd you call him? Mr. MissyMiss?"
I smiled and laughed slightly,
"Yep."
Hanabusa chuckled,
"That was hilarious. I'm not sure why he couldn't tell that you were a vampire though. It's strange."
Hanabusa's eyes clouded over with a jumble of emotions, but just as quickly as they appeared they had vanished,
"Anyway that isn't important right now. What's important is getting to know you."
He began to ask me many questions about my life. Some were serious and some were funny. After lunch the two of us began walking around town just shopping and talking. We actually got to know each other pretty well and had a lot of fun. When we exited one of the shops, the same uneasy feeling from that morning rose up inside of me. I looked around and saw a tall, attractive man with light blonde hair and blue eyes wearing a dark grey shirt with a black hoodie and black jeans. My eyes widened in fear,
"No. It can't be him."
I mumbled to myself in shock as I turned to the blonde vampire next to me,
"Aidou I think we should go. Now."
I said quickly, grabbing his arm and pulling him in the opposite direction of the man who was now following us,
Shit.
I thought to myself in a panic as I picked up the pace,
"Slow down!"
Hanabusa shouted at me over the sound of the bustling streets as he tried to keep up. He saw me glance back and my eyes widen as I realized he was getting closer,
"What's going on?"
Aidou asked seriously as he tried to stop me. I turned around and looked at him,
Aidou, now is not the time. I'll explain everything but not now."
"But Y/N-"
"Hanabusa!"
I cut him off angrily while glaring at him,
"If we stop he's going to catch us. We have to keep moving, okay?"
He nodded quickly, seeing the panic in my eyes,
"O-Okay."
He said as the two of us ran back to the academy, taking side streets to avoid being seen by him. We were almost there when he appeared in front of us, causing Hanabusa and I to stop abruptly,
"A-Alek.."
I said fearfully. He smirked,
"Hello, Y/N. Long time no see. I'm surprised you're still alive, seeing as I killed you myself. You remember, don't you?"
He reached out and stroked my cheek, causing me to flinch away,
"Don't touch her!"
Hanabusa shouted as he froze Alek's feet to the ground. I saw Alek pull out a small ornate dagger, one that I recognized all too well,
"Aidou watch out!"
I couldn't move or speak fast enough before Alek threw the dagger. Hanabusa dodged it, but it was able to slice him. Hanabusa cried out in pain and fell to the ground,
"Aidou!"
I screamed as I ran to him. Unfortunately, once Aidou was incapacitated the ice around Alek's feet melted and he was able to grab me. As I was fighting to escape his grasp, I heard Hanabusa's weak voice,
"Y/N... don't worry. I'll save you..."
Alek laughed maniacally,
"If you want to save her, you'll have to try harder than that."
He said as he kicked Hanabusa in the head, making him lose consciousness. I put up an even bigger fight and Alek Just sighed in irritation,
"And here I was hoping you'd come without a fuss."
That was the last thing I heard before I lost consciousness.
