"Ms. Hu-"

"Alright. First, my name is ___, second, expect me to ignore you if people are around," You tell him calmly, glancing around the empty street.

"Then I would like you to call me Law, ___," He tells you.

"Law.... I like that name..." You comment. He pauses since you're not lying and looks away.

"Thanks," He mutters. "So, Ms. Hu-" He pauses, "Ms. ___," He corrects, letting your name roll off his tongue carefully. "Do you have companions?" He inquires. You throw him a questioning look. "Friends." He clarifies.

"Yeah I have friends, and if you're mean to any of them, I'll have you exorcised," You warn.

"Relax, I have no interest in anyone else but you," He responds simply. You feel yourself blush and your head. He looks at you then, tilting his head, "Your energy just got really warm. How do you feel?" He asks.

"Embarrassed," You answer, it was true, but not the entire truth. Honestly you felt kinda special having such an attractive- er <i>being</i> say that to you. He blinks, observing you carefully as you avoid eye contact before chuckling.

"Not used to hearing such things are you?" He guesses.

"Is it sad that a demon was the first to say something like that to me?" You sigh. He blinks, looking at you for a bit before a frown ghosts his lips.

"Yes, is there something mentally wrong with humans?" He inquires. You look over at him in confusion. "If I am the first to say such a thing to you, then perhaps humans are stupider than I originally thought," He comments, seeming serious. Your eyes widen, another blush creeps onto your cheeks.

"Perhaps," You murmur with a smile and slight giggle. His silver eyes widen briefly as you look away, still smiling a bit.

"Interesting," He rumbles.

"What is?" You ask, looking back at him.

"Your energy is all warm again..." He says. He then frowns, "It's highly uncomfortable," He adds.

"Oh right, demons feed off of negative energy... Sorry, but I'm in a surprisingly good mood today," You tell him. He glances back at you and touches your cheek, making you pause, instantly becoming wary. He relaxes a bit.

"There, that's better," He breathes, retracting his hand. "The fact that you are so wary of me is quite useful."

"I'm not gonna be your personal thermostat Mr. Law," You grumble.

"We'll see about that Ms. ___," He chuckles.

"___!" Luffy calls cheerfully. You smile as you reach the group.

"Hey guys," You greet.

"You're just in time, Usopp is about to set off his trap!" He snickers. You look toward the direction where everyone was looking, the gym door.

"Wait for it..." Usopp breathes getting ready to press the button. The door open and the football team come out led by Eustass Kid.

"Do it," You breathe. Usopp presses the button and suddenly the football team is . hit by numerous water balloons filled with different sauces. The whole team froze.

"Impressive, that's a lot of negative energy," Law comments, reminding you he was there.

"Nicely done Usopp," You chuckle as the whole courtyard fills with laughter. You could see Kid's sauce covered face turn red.

"No one picks on our group," He rumbles, turning away from the seen with a slightly pale face. You had to admire the long nosed guy. Though he was terrified of the entire football team, he still went out of his way to pay them back for picking on Chopper.

"That was so awesome!" Chopper and Luffy cheer quietly. You straighten up, glancing at Law to find the demon watching you with a slight smirk. You give him a slight smile before turning back to your group which still silently congratulated Usopp.

"RAH! WHICH ONE OF YOU BASTARDS DID THIS!?" Kid's yell drew your gazes back to the football captain to see him pointing at your group.

"Everyone look at me." You breathe only loud enough for them to hear. They all look at you to hear what you had to say. You sheepishly raise your hand, making yourself obviously guilty. "Uh... Got ya?" You laugh nervously to Kid who was starting right for you.

"I sense a lot of wrath ___-ya, you might want to run," Law tells you. You nod and take off into the building as the entire football team gives chase. "How will you escape them all?" The demon asks, gliding backwards beside you as he watches the pack of pissed of jocks weave through the crowded hallway after you.

"Hide..." You answer, suddenly cutting into a classroom and hiding in a closet, praying no one saw. You couldn't see in the darkness, but you were well aware of Law watching your face in amusement.

"Should I be insulted that you are giving off more fearful energy now then you were last night? Do you truly fear humans more than a demon?" He inquires, sounding like he was right in front of you.

"I can't send human's away by praying," You point out quietly.

"Touché," He comments, peering out through the door. "I knew this would be an interesting day," He says when he pulled his head back in.

"Damn," You breathe. You hear him chuckle.

"I even let you have that prayer too," He comments. You pause, how did he know? "Your energy becomes lighter when you pray, whether it be spoken or silent," He explains as if he could see the confusion on your face.

"I can't hide anything from you can I?" You mutter.

"You may try, I'll just correct you," He responds. You let out a sigh. It felt like you had psychic stalker that only you could see.

"Why me?" You mutter to yourself. You feel him poke your forehead.

"Because you're different," He rumbles. You feel yourself blush at that. "I sense a lot of wrath in the other room, you might want to get ready to run ___-ya." He adds. You swallow and get ready to run in case the door flung open. However, you heard the door handle jiggle instead, and the sound of a lock sliding into place.

"I'll deal with you after school," Kid's voice snarls from the otherside and you pale. You stand in a stunned silence for a bit before reaching out and trying the door handle. Yep, it was locked. Your heart sunk.

"Shit.." You murmur, starting to feel around the closet for something.

"Can't you unlock the door yourself?" Law asks.

"I can only see and touch spirits, I can't move things with my brain," You reply, tripping on something and falling into the demon's bare chest. You tense, blush creeping onto your cheeks. He smelt like cinnamon. You swiftly trying to straighten up, but youfeel something coil around your leg and his arm move around your waist. "U-um..." You mentally kick yourself for stammering as your heart beats wildly.

"Let me borrow some energy, I'll get you out of here," He rumbles in your ear. The coil around your leg gives a slight squeeze.

"Y-You'd do that for me?" You ask carefully.

"It's either that or I can mess with you while we're in here and then you can deal with that teen's wrath," He points out.

"Please get me out of here Law," You whisper. The demon pauses, ears perking at the request and he shifts, suddenly releasing you.

"Alright," He says, touching the door handle there's a click and the door creaks open to reveal the empty classroom. He looks back at you and you smile in relief.

"Thank you Law." You murmur, smiling at him. He pauses, ears twitching before looking away.

"Shouldn't you be running to class?" He asks as the bell rings.

"Oh no!" You gasp, rushing out. You hear Law chuckle as he easily follows after you. You smile a bit.
