Chapitre 44

ᕦ[ ✿ ]ᕤ

(Y/N) Pov:

That was a very long ride. You would have fallen asleep if you didn't stare nervously at your moving surroundings, seeing the familiar decors you would see on historical photos. You frowned at the sight of many, many n*zi flags and signs on several shops' showcases.

'It still is uncomfortable knowing I'm actually in this time period...' You sighed internally as you watched the streets unfold. Your eyes then perceived more details, such as a few children playing with a ball, surely oblivious to what was really happening in their country. But... The looks of happiness on their faces as they played, the sound of chatting in the street was filling your ears. Despite everything, how could this not be real?

...a few unconscious mumbles made you look down, seeing West Germany sleeping on you. His soft breathing hitting your clothes. Your eyes softened. This feeling... It reminded you that you were alive. Who cares if for them you're not real? Your life is still your life. No matter how 'unreal' it might be. It's time for you to turn the page, to enter another stage after you discovered the truth. You had to accept it. You would hate yourself if you kept being gloomy and uninterested all the time, disregarding everything simply because you think it's 'not real'. It was real for you. It was your reality, your world.

You hummed and leaned back on your seat, your back resting on the leather seat of the car. While your hand was still resting on top of West Germany's head, you breathed out quietly and started closing your eyes but then noticed East Germany a few seats in front looking back at you and his brother, with a little frown, looking sad. When he saw you were looking at him he furrowed his eyebrows and turned back to face the front. You sighed and closed back your eyes. That would be a future you problem.

。:゚timeskip゚:。

The sound of the car slowing down made you open back your eyes from your light slumber. You noticed both brothers were awake already. West Germany who stayed at your side grinned.

-"We're arrived! I can't wait to show you my room!" He giggled to himself, which made you smile a bit. However you were still full of apprehension. The car finally stopped at one particular building. It was really big, and it reminded you of an ancient roman construction or something with the detailed pillars and everything.

The few people that were in the car got out and stood around it, watching carefully the surroundings. East Germany said nothing and just get down the car as well. West Germany didn't wait a lot before opening the car's door and followed his brother, not without dragging you with him by the hand.

-"Well...it's a big building." You simply said awkwardly while looking up at the architecture in front of you, where stood a few rows of stairs leading to huge doors, and you couldn't help but want to walk away before they would open so that a familiar face could go through.

-"Right? This isn't our actual house but since Father always works here we still spend most of our time there, so we still get a room!" West Germany spoke up next to you with a grin, the kid was just tall enough to reach your waist.

-"But it still doesn't replace completely our actual rooms." East Germany popped in the discussion while crossing his arms, frowning.

-"It's been years since we haven't seen our house." East added, you stayed silent at his upset expression before West added towards you.

-"Don't mind him. He's just disappointed because his plush is still in our house." West said, making his brother flush in embarrassment.

-"It's not true!" He argued, and West simply smirked.

-"Yes it is!"

-"No!"

-"Yes!"

-"No!"

-"Yes!"

-"NO!"

-"Y-" The sound of the big doors opening made the three of you look up. At first it was just a crowd of random men who worked there, mostly ignored you three while some would glance in confusion since they recognised the children of the Reich.

Soon everyone just parted ways. 'Surely because it was time to eat' You thought since your stomach couldn't stop growling. Fortunately no one seemed to have heard, or else you would have been very embarrassed. For a few minutes there was silence, since no one else exited through the doors. West and East Germany were whispering to eachother quickly. You were a bit glad to see they were still talking to eachother, but you were less when you heard footsteps coming your way.

Since the children didn't really notice you were the only one who looked up, and saw a singular man standing in the stairs looking down at you while wearing a SS uniform with a red armband where was painted a certain cross: the Third Reich.

-"..." Let's just say the silence was awkward. You kept looking up at him in silence, honestly you didn't really know what to feel after seeing him now after everything that happened to you. The two boys just realised their father was there and shut up, while Third Reich hasn't said a word since he was here, he just stared at you, a shocked expression on his face, his eyes wide as he couldn't believe you were really there. In all honesty, he just looked like a boy who never had Christmas and stared down at a Christmas tree full of presents... That was cute... If only he wasn't a crazy murderer. Why is it always like this?

-"(Y/N)..." He whispered in disbelief, which made you blink a few times. You still weren't used to hear Countryhumans' voices. I mean, you always see their appearance so you're not really surprised anymore but their voice? Even more when you actually saw Third Reich before but his voice still massively changed from being a little boy to now. Good for him you guessed because he wouldn't really be charismatic if he looked like that while having a high-pitched voice of a little boy.

You stayed silent, narrowing your eyes at him. You couldn't forget who or what he was. Don't he dare to expect you to jump in his arms just because you spent a little time together when he was a child. Now he's one of the sickest men you could see that has an unhealthy attachment to you aside of every crime he already committed. After another few seconds of silence he walked down the stairs, excitement creeping onto him.

-"(Y/N)! I can't believe I've finally found you again, after all those years! Now that we're back together, everything's gonna be perfect-" Third Reich rushed down the stairs and was ready to pull you into his arms but you pushed him away before he could do it. He stumbled a bit while looking at you in a bewildered face. You glared at him while clutching your fists.

-"Don't. I only came here because I knew perfectly you wouldn't leave me alone until I would finally go back to you. But don't expect me now to ignore everything that you caused and done, and keep doing! You're a murderer and a cold-hearted monster!" You told him while frowning, your tone and behaviour dead serious. Third Reich kept looking at you in shock, and silence followed your little speech.

As the quiet continued you started thinking nervously that maybe you messed up and shouldn't have angered him but then Third Reich suddenly started laughing. At first, it was fine, but the longer it lasted the more he sounded unhinged. You threw a concerned look at the twins but they just returned it back to you. After you don't know how much time his laughter finally calmed down.

-"AHAHA, How could I forget? Of course you wouldn't just comply, that you wouldn't be happy with my doing! An angel would never tolerate those crimes and atrocities now would it?" He kept laughing maniacally to himself. East Germany looked pissed while West Germany looked at his father with an awe-struck face. You on the other hand just looked confused.

-"There's nothing to do with being an angel it's just common sense..." You tried to say but got ignored as Third Reich put a hand to his chest with a grin towards you, showing you his pointy teeth.

-"I apologize, dear. After all those years of not seeing you, my mind might have imagined a few things about you differently, surely because it thought it was just my childish perception of you and that no one could be as perfect as you were!" He said, his eyes showing a complete admiration and passion towards you, that just made you uncomfortable.

-"Now, I should just feist on the fact that our angel is back to where they should, at our sides..." Third Reich grinned and stepped aside and motioned you to walk ahead, his eyes not leaving your figure to scan every detail, you threw him a glance mixed with anger and uncertainty. Nevertheless you started walking up the stairs, you threw a glance over your shoulder to see Third Reich was still staring at you from the bottom of the stair, his eyes piercing through your soul. It was clear on his face that he just wished the children weren't there so you'd be alone at his side. You nervously looked back in front of you as you climbed the stairs all alone. However, you got a bit relieved as you saw a familiar face standing next to the door you were supposed to walk through.

Berlin was looking a bit stressed out, but still let out a small smile upon seeing you. You were starting to know each other now since you talked to him often when you stayed at Prussia's, and already greeted him when you were with German Empire. Berlin looked a bit relieved, you got reminded that the last time he saw you, you then got injured during a battle. It still is weird to you to think that he already knew you from Prussia's timeline before you did. You now understood why he was so uncomfortable when German Empire introduced you to each other, surely because you didn't seem to remember anything (maybe because you didn't live through it yet).

-"Hi Berlin." You said with a small smile as you walked over to him, you heard Third Reich shattering with his children and not focusing on you, yet. The capital looked surprised and smiled, despite his sorrowful expression, you noticed how he looked overall quite depressed.

-"(Y/N), you remember!" Berlin said, his eyes lightening up a bit.

-"I'm glad you're fine. Even though he told me you'd be okay I was still worried when you got shot." He continued and sighed. You smiled at his concern but got curious.

-"But who's 'he'?" You asked. Berlin's expression softened.

-"oh! Prussia of course. He explained to me back then what would happen. At first I didn't believe him but when German Empire introduced you I was nervous it'd be true which it was." He explained, which made you smile and shook your head in amusement.

-"Of course he would..." You chuckled slightly, amused. It was obvious Prussia wouldn't care and just rant about the future to Berlin even though the poor city had no idea what he was talking about. But oh well, at least it made Berlin a bit more trusting.

-"Yes... But now he isn't leading anymore, nor German Empire...nor Weimar Republic..." Berlin mumbles, now frowning again as he looked back at the bottom of the stairs where Third Reich was still listening to his kids with a malicious grin. You looked at him as well and frowned.

-"I guess it must be hard to you." You said but Berlin sighed and shook his head.

-"it's fine, during history a lot of leaders already caused atrocities, no one was like Third Reich but I must admit it's not the first time I have to obey a maniac. It might be hard but I think it'll be nothing compared to your case." Berlin explained and looked at you sadly. He then forced a small smile and opened the big door and motioned for you to follow him.

-"Come, I'll spare you the tour with Third Reich and do one myself instead." He said and entered the building. You glanced back down at Third Reich and his sons, where West Germany seemed to ramble excitedly to his father. You sighed before turning around and following Berlin into this new place you'll have to accommodate to.

Third person Pov:

-"So, what do you think of them?" Third Reich asked with a grin as he kneeled to his children's level. West Germany jumped up and down excitedly.

-"They're wonderful! Even more than what you told us! I don't even have the words to compliment them enough! They're uhm, they're..."

-"Perfect." West Germany blinked in mid-surprise at his father who finished his sentence.

-"They're perfect." Third Reich grinned sadistically, as if he talked to himself. West and East Germany shared a confused glance.

-"I guess? But no human is perfect, that's why we're merely humans." West Germany said, shaking his head, being reminded of what he was taught. Third Reich looked at him and put a hand over his son's head, while he smiled.

-"And that's why, Germany, that they aren't human. Remember? They're our angel, and should stay with us. And never leave." He said. While West Germany was looking at his father with big eyes full of admiration, East Germany beside them both frowned. Third Reich was always focusing more on West, to the point where he'd simply call him Germany, like if East didn't even exist.

On one hand East was a bit jealous since he was lonely and lacked of affection from his father but on the other he was somewhat relieved, since he could see how manipulative Third Reich was towards his twin, so he was glad he wasn't a target of his father. But still, despite every cruel thing Third Reich has ever done, it's still his father, and internally he still wants attention from him.

Third Reich tore his gaze from West and stood up glancing at his other son, his gaze hardening a bit more while doing so. Nevertheless, he put a grin on his face.

-"And you? What do you think of our dear guest?" He asked, his eyes narrowing as he looked at East Germany, since his older twin had the habit to always be grumpy, he was ready to make sure East wouldn't say anything bad about (Y/N), even though said boy wasn't even planning to.

-"They're... They're nice. I didn't expect them to be so... humble and... casual." East Germany said quietly avoiding his father's gaze. Third Reich's face light up at this and he grinned.

-"Obviously, they wouldn't be so perfect if they were too arrogant or prideful. I think I made the right choice to make you go see them instead of myself. At least you got a good first impression of them without me influencing your judgement." Third Reich told them, while he looked more particularly towards West Germany, as he ignored the fact that East Germany rolled his eyes when he said he wasn't influencing them.

-"Father, father! Are they gonna stay with us then?" West Germany asked, tucking on Third Reich's sleeve while looking up at him. Third Reich nodded with a grin.

-"Of course they will." He said and kneeled once again towards his son. Third Reich pushed slightly East aside when the boy mentioned how (Y/N) never gave their consent or anything. West Germany kept grinning but a pat on his head made him look up more calmly towards his father with a curious gaze.

-"By the way, since my 'friends' will arrive soon as well, I count on you to take care of (Y/N) when I'll not be there, and make sure she's not hurt with your little friends." Third Reich said, and frowned slightly in annoyance when mentioning it, West Germany tilted his head in confusion.

-"But Italy and Japan won't hurt anyone?" He said, and his father sighs while pulling West Germany close as he pat him, as he spoke in a manipulative tone.

-"Yes but they might want to take them for themselves, so be sure it won't happen. Only us are worthy to be with (Y/N). Got it?" Third Reich spoke, to which West Germany nodded. Third Reich smiled, satisfied and stood up.

-"Alright now. Go inside, show (Y/N) your rooms if you please . I'll try to take upon myself not to run at them." He said in a joking tone, and West Germany giggled while East Germany scoffed since Third Reich actually meant it and already turned around to start walking back inside the building.

-"Okay! Goodbye Father!" West Germany smiled and tried to salute him like one of the adults he saw with his father even though he almost stumbled. The child then started running up the stairs to catch up his brother.

When Third Reich was outside all alone, he immediately frowned and clutched his hands into fists. How he wanted to just give up his duties and runs at his angel to talk to them properly, to spend time together as they should. He took a big breath and breathed out slowly. He then fixed his hat and tie, while he then started walking. He still needed to come greet his allies, and continue to represent the wonderful empire he was.

Why do I imagine the Tokito twins while writing West and East? 😅

Also not me having troubles writing characters because I don't want people to think I sympathise with any of their doing... Which I obviously do not. Please know that.
