Chapter 1: Fallen

I am Princess Jewels Adamore. I am the last bloodline of the Adamore's, but now I am the lost princess.

I am sure you have heard about the fall of my planet, the great war which ripped apart my people. I was sent away in the hope it would end the war.

Everyone I loved, everything I grew up with is now gone. I wish I could have turned that capsule around and return to my parents, but I could not.

My heart was slowly being torn to threads inside my chest, I remember seeing my mother and father's face for the last time. Both of their eyes were glossy and filled with tears that seeped over their brims. I watched the tears drip down their cheeks; slowly at first but then in a matter of seconds the tears made small rivers flowing over their skin.

If only I could return to my home, it was all just a memory now. I remembered how the grass felt against my feet as I ran across it, the air filling my lungs, and my father watching my every move with happiness in his eyes.

I remembered when my mother asked me to help our people when the time of the great fallout hit, and our energy source had run out. It was the time I found out I was different from everyone else. An Everotornian's blood is thick and green in colour, but I am not like them.

It was that same reason these men of Earth kept me prisoner in this dark place. The only light was coming from the tubes attached to my arms. You see, I do not have blood flowing through my veins, no, I have energy. I am energy, I am the ultimate energy source, I am the reason for the Zutorian's attack. They wanted me but my parents sent me away.

Oh, if only my mother and father knew the pain I would endure here on the dreaded planet, which is at war. I do not know the full details, I only know what I hear, whispers from people in the darkness. They speak of an outside world, a world where they fight over the simplest of things such as water, food and power.

I do not know how long they have kept me prisoner for because the time here seems to be different from back home. All I know is that I have grown from the young child I once was to a young woman.

The people whose faces I can not see were back and reattached tubes to me. I could feel my energy being drained through the tubes, for days they do this. My body does not get enough time to create more.

"That's enough, Derek," a voice echoed somewhere in the darkness. "She's had enough."

My eyes flickered open at the same moment a red light begins to flash in the corner of the darkness. I could feel small vibrations on this table where I have laid since I have been here.

"They're attacking again, don't they—" the voice gets interrupted by a large rumble coming through the floor. "Derek, they've broken through the door!"

"What?" a voice, I guess is Derek's, yelled, followed by a grunt. "Get the girl, we can't allow her to fall in J-J's hands."

"Yes, sir."

A face emerged out of the darkness, I gritted my teeth and said, "No, no, get away from me!"

"Relax." His voice was calm at first but when he realised I was not relaxing, he harshly grabs my wrists and rips both tubes free from my flesh. "I told you to relax, this will be all over in a few—"

My eyes narrowed at the needle in his hand, knowing very well what it was for because of the numerous of times they had done this to me before. Just like the same day my capsule crash-landed onto this world.

I did not think twice as I jerked my right arm upwards so fast the man does not see it until it connected with his jaw.

"What the—"

I could feel the energy spiralling within my veins, it was like fire, it burns me but it does not hurt, no, I feel hungry, greedy for more of the burning sensation.

It was not until I heard the man scream that I realised what I had done.

My body hovered above the table I once laid on, my hand was wrapped around his neck as my body was taking away his life force. I was draining every last bit of his energy I could just by touching his skin.

His eyes widened as his skin turned pale and then his eyes rolled to the back of his head. He is dead, I killed him.

It did not bother me because these people were ruthless, heartless, and their love for power was the same as Zutorians. I could have saved my planet, ended the war just like I had taken away this man's life by merely a touch of my hand. I would have done it, I'd have killed every last Zutorian without a thought.

My mother told me a long time ago, "Violence is never the answer, my child, please do not go down the same path your Father once did. War does not have to end with tragic".

She sent me away, how is that not tragic?

The man slipped from my grasp and his body falls with a thud onto the floor. I do not know how I managed to even bring myself to stand, I felt so weak from laying down all that time.

But here I was running through the endless tunnels, killing anyone in my way. I finally entered an area that looked as though it had been partly blown apart. I walked through it, holding onto what was left of the walls.

Then I could see the light. I could feel its heat just by looking at it. It was so close, so very close yet it felt so far away, too far for my weakened body to carry me.

I could hear struggles to my left and I diverted my attention to a man dressed in a strange black outfit fighting a guard. The man did not notice another guard approaching from his left.

My body reacted as the guard lifted his weapon to aim and possibly end the man in blacks life, I run. I dived when a loud bang erupted from the weapon then there was only pain. I could feel it in my left leg.

I had never felt pain before, it causes me to collapse to the ground. My hands covered the place where it hurt. I could feel the cold on my hand and when I bring my hand up to my line of vision, I am shocked.

Someone shouted behind me followed by more of those strange bangs.

"I-I miss them," I said out loud, catching the attention of the man in black who began to walk over to me. Tears fell from my eyes, I truly miss my mother, my father, everyone, and it hurt even more knowing that I could not return.

I flinched away as the man knelt beside me, his hazel eyes looked deeply into mine. He asked the same question my captives would ask, "Where did you come from?"

I did not answer because they never listened.

A gentle touch was placed under my chin which forced my head upwards to make eye contact again. "They captured you?" he questioned, his eyes looked into my blue ones.

Again I did not answer.

Then with a whimper and groan the pain in my leg became unbearable. My eyes fluttered closed for the first time since I arrived here.

But even with my eyes closed, just like before and all the times my captives would ask, he asked the very same question, "Where did it start?"

My answer was a simple one, it was one I had said many times before.

"It started with the stars."
