It Wasn't Me!

The members were known to share absolutely everything. Clothes, food, sometimes even toothbrushes if they were desperate. They even spent a lot of time in eachother's studios either helping with music or just hanging out for some company.
Jungkook was doing some vocals for Yoongi in Yoongi's studio, and once he was done he told Jungkook he was free to go. However Jungkook was done with his work for the day and wanted to hang out with his hyung, so he made his way to the couch and lay down, playing on his phone. He kept asking his hyung if they could play a game together that Yoongi had on his computer but his hyung kept telling him that today wasn't a good day, he had way too much work to do. Sometimes Jungkook didn't like taking no for an answer so kept pouting, but Yoongi stood his ground and told him today wouldn't work. Jungkook decided to stay anyway.
"Could I play the game by myself after you leave then?" Jungkook asked his hyung. He loved the game Yoongi had bought for his computer, and his hyungs computer was the only one that had it.
"After I leave, do whatever you want. Just don't touch anything else on the computer, got it?" Yoongi said while staying focused on his work. Jungkook smiled and nodded in agreement.
After a few hours, Jungkook heard Yoongi clicking his mouse a million times a second. Which meant he was going through and saving all his files a million times, which meant he was done with his work. He pulled the game up on the computer and got up from his chair, "All yours. Make sure you lock up when you leave."
"Got it, hyung!"
Jungkook made his way over and played the game for hours. When he finally decided he got a little bored with it, he closed out of the game and left Yoongi's studio, making sure to lock up. He headed home for the night with the rest of his hyungs.
The next morning at the HYBE building started with intense choreography. Hobi was in strict dance leader mode today, which meant everyone was working their hardest, even a little too much. After hours of practice it was time for everyone to head back to their studios. Everyone's studio was in the same hallway, and not even 20 minutes after settling in, everyone could hear Yoongi start screaming and cursing at his computer. Everyone ran out of their studios and met him in his, he looked angry.
"What's wrong hyung?" Taehyung asked concerned.
Yoongi immediately turned to Jungkook with narrowed, angry eyes, "Jungkook what the hell did you do to my computer?!?!" Yoongi screamed at him.
"What? Me? I didn't do anything to it hyung!"
"You were the last person to use it and all the files I saved yesterday are gone! I told you not to touch anything else on here except the damn game!"
"I didn't!" Jungkook protested with tears forming in his eyes, "Hyung I just closed out of the game and left! I didn't get rid of anything I swear!"
"Don't lie to me Jungkook!" Yoongi screamed at him while the rest of the members silently watched the two fight, "I know I saved everything a million times, and you were the last one to touch my shit!"
"Hyung I'd tell you if I deleted something! And I am telling you I didn't!" Jungkook had tears pouring out of his eyes. He looked to the other members and they looked equally as angry.
"Jungkook why would you delete his stuff?!" Namjoon asked angrily.
"I didn't! Hyungs you have to believe me, I didn't touch anything but the game!"
"Then how are his files missing? Huh? If you were the last one to touch his computer and he had just saved everything, you're the only one who could have deleted stuff," Hobi pointed out.
Jungkook turned back to Yoongi in frustration, "Maybe you didn't fuckin save it right! I don't know!"
"I know how to save files on my damn computer!" Yoongi spat back. He was also on the verge of tears over the lost work.
"Maybe your computer is broken then!" Jungkook argued.
"Why can't you just admit you did it?" Jimin asked annoyed. It wasn't like Jungkook to lie.
"Because I didn't!"
"Jungkook, do you know how long I spent on that music?! Now I have to re-do every damn thing because you decided to be irresponsible!" Yoongi stood up and walked right up to Jungkook, "Is it because I didn't want to play the damn game with you? What did you want revenge or something? Huh?"
Jungkook took a nervous step back, "No, hyung. I..I didn't do it." Jungkook wiped his tears with his sleeve. Yoongi had enough and yelled at everyone to get the hell out of his studio. The members watched Jungkook run to his own and slam the door closed, locking it. He threw himself down on his couch and cried into his pillow. I didn't delete any of hyungs files! I didn't touch anything! Why won't they believe me!?
Jungkook didn't feel like getting any more work done the rest of the day. He continued to lay on the couch in his studio and alternate between crying and napping. Namjoon finally came banging on his door to let him know it was time to go home.
The car ride home was awkward for the maknae. Nobody seemed to want to talk to him. If anyone made eye contact they'd look away like it was awkward. Yoongi didn't say a word. He wouldn't even look at Jungkook. The maknae sunk as far back into his seat as he could. He wished to be invisible, to disappear. It wasn't normal for his hyungs to be mad at him. It hurt. Especially because it was over something he didn't do, yet none of his hyungs would believe him. He had no idea how his hyungs files got deleted. He knew Yoongi had saved everything a million times, so where could they have gone?
At the dorm that night, Jungkook realized he needed to be careful what he wished for, because everyone was treating him like he was invisible and it hurt.
He would ask anyone if they needed help with anything, to which the simple answer he got every time was "No."
He asked Jin if he needed help with the dishes but his oldest hyung told him it'd be better if he just didn't touch anything. Jungkook quickly felt like a burden. Do they think I'll just destroy everything? They aren't even this mean to Namjoon and all he does is break stuff!
The treatment he was getting from his hyungs was killing him. He decided he really needed to convince Yoongi he doesn't know what happened to his computer, and that he really didn't do anything. He made his way to Yoongi's room and walked in, his hyung was on his laptop reworking on the music, he had headphones on so Jungkook walked up and tapped him on the shoulder.
As soon as Yoongi saw him he put his arm up and pushed him back, "Stay away from my stuff!" the rapper spat.
Jungkook took a few steps back and bit his bottom lip, trying to stop it from shaking as tears stung his eyes, "Yoongy hyung..I-"
"Save it Jungkook, just go away."
"But I didn't-"
"First you want to ruin my things, and now you want to disrespect your hyung by not listening? I told you to go away!"
Hobi came in after hearing Yoongi yell at the maknae and told Jungkook he really needed to listen and leave Yoongi alone.
Jungkook pushed past Hobi crying, "I can't believe you all hate me this much over something I never even did!" He ran into his room and slammed the door. Jimin and Taehyung glanced at eachother with concern after seeing Jungkook run by so upset. They both weren't too sure on whose side to take, so they decided to stay neutral on the matter and tried to stay out of it the best they could. This was an issue between the maknae and hyungs. Not to mention, seeing Yoongi so angry was scary.
The next few days were no different. There was a lot of tension in the group. Jungkook stopped trying to even talk things out with his hyungs, it was clear they didn't want to hear anything he had to say. He spent a lot of his time alone in his studio, and during dance practice he wouldn't talk to anyone. They had some interviews they had to do and he didn't act his lively self in them. He stayed quiet in the back.
Being home wasn't any better. Jungkook spent all his time in his room. The members would periodically knock and tell him dinner was ready, but he didn't bother going out to eat with them. He'd wait until they were done and then go out and grab something. Yoongi still wouldn't even look at him. Jungkook wondered if Yoongi was really just going to hate him forever, and if Yoongi was going to hate him forever, did that mean the rest of the group would too? Jungkook was falling into a pretty bad bout of depression. He was questioning if the members even wanted him in the band anymore at this point, because why would they? Why want someone in a band if you didn't even want to talk to them?
One morning the members had a meeting with one of their producers and someone from their IT department to talk about some software.
"Have you guys explored the new software updates we did on the computers?" The IT guy asked. The members looked around confused, "We didn't know there was one," Hobi told the man.
"When did we get software updates?" Taehyung asked.
"We updated the systems overnight about a week ago," the IT guy said, "I'm surprised it worked honestly. We've had issues in the past with some stuff being moved around on the systems on people's computers."
The members all started looking between Yoongi and Jungkook. Jungkook didn't want to make eye contact. He figured they were all about to tell their staff that Jungkook already messed up Yoongi's computer.
"Wait..so....the system could have moved files around? Could it delete stuff?" Jimin asked.
"We haven't had an issue with things being deleted. We usually find the files elsewhere on the computer," The IT guy said.
The members all became curious and the first thing they did was ask the IT guy to check Yoongi's computer for the files he thought were deleted. Jungkook stood in the back corner with his arms crossed anticipating to be proven right.
And he was.
"They weren't deleted, Yoongi. They were moved to this part of your hard-drive. The system update also switched them back to their original names which is why you couldn't find them when you searched," the IT guy said he was glad to help and disappeared.
All the members silently turned to Jungkook, who was glaring at them angrily.
"Oh...no..." Jin pouted.
"Jungkook you were telling the truth..." Jimin added. Everyone turned and looked to Yoongi, whose face was flushed red with remorse and embarrassment.
"Jungkook-ah.....I'm-" Yoongi started but Jungkook cut him off, "You're what? Huh? Sorry? Is that what you plan to say? What if maybe I don't believe you, or don't want to hear it, just like you didn't care to listen to me either?"
Yoongi paused for a moment, "That's...fair...but Jungkook I am really sorry. Please know none of us knew about this update...."
"So your first instinct was to blame me even though I told you a million times I didn't do it? Hyung that wasn't fair! I've been treated like shit by you all for the past week and I didn't deserve it! You cared more about your files than you cared about me. Do you know how much that hurt?" Jungkook backed right into the corner and began to cry. Jimin and Taehyung both walked over to him and wrapped him in a hug.
Everyone's eyes flooded with tears of guilt. They apologized to their maknae a million times over. Yoongi tried walking to Jungkook to hug him but he pushed his hyung the same way he had been pushed, "Yeah, see? How do you like it?" Jungkook pouted.
To his surprise, tears started pouring out of Yoongi's eyes too. Which was an extremely rare sight.
"We shouldn't have blamed you. You didn't deserve that, I'm really sorry. And if you don't want to ever forgive me again I understand. But please know I'm really sorry," Yoongi pouted.
"We're all terribly sorry. We shouldn't have been so mean to you either, maknae," Namjoon added. They all stood there waiting for Jungkook to reply. Luckily for them, their maknae was a very forgiving person and hated seeing his hyungs sad. He opened his arms and gestured for everyone to come hug him.
"You're forgiven. This time anyway! Maybe this will teach you to believe me from now on!" Jungkook couldn't help but let out a small laugh. It was fun scolding his hyungs. He never really got to do it.
"You can play the game on my computer as much as you want!" Yoongi said, trying to find more ways to make it up to his maknae.
"No thank you hyung, I wouldn't want to accidentally delete it or something," Jungkook smiled. The members hugged for a few minutes before they needed to all get back to work. They all apologized more and Jin even told Jungkook he'd cook him whatever he wanted for dinner. The maknae liked the sound of that.
For the first time in a week, the maknae had his loving hyungs back.
-Fin.
