OUT OF ALL THE VACUOUS STATEMENTS I hear, this is the most witless of them all.
First, one of the staff hands me a red flashlight, half of which is covered with cardboard to block its luninescence.
"Now close your eyes. We're going to shuffle everyone for the maze."
I scoff at the ludicrous statement, because it is pitch black here.
"Close my eyes? But it's already dark!"
The outlying pit pat of footsteps tells me he left, making me look like a braty high schooler. I calm my nerves and remind myself that this is a stimulated house -- which means it is a dark maze you have to get through.
We are told to switch off our flashlights for the time being, and I sense someone start relocating me from my previous standing.
My shoes clash with the floor, echoing screeching noises through the room.
"Anyone here?" I offer, spreading my arms to feel any sign of human presence.
"Oh, it's you, shorty." a deep, lazy voice responds.
"Violet guy. Great." I'd contemplate on how fairy-tale like this coincidence is, but sadly, I don't have the luxury of time. One of those monotone robotic voices suddenly cuts through the silence.
"Attention, attention. All of you will be given ten minutes before the zombies come eat your brains. Every turn and corner will have a scary surprise. But make it to the center of the maze, and you'll be safe."
"Okay, maybe we can be civilized today. What's your name?" I ask, decreasing the viciousness in my voice.
He growls quietly, and I deductively conclude that he is a petty child.
"Julian." he responds flatly.
"Alexandria."
"Well, we might as well start walking to get this thing over with."
In spite of the darkness, I manage to spat him on his shoulder.
"What was that for?!" he hisses, rubbing the injured spot.
"I have been saving up money to go here for like, my whole life. I'm not going to let your childish, insolent ways disrupt my fun."
"You call this 'fun'?" he asks.
"I expected it to be, but you're here, so my whole experience is ruined."
"Well chill out, because I expected it to be fun too, but an annoying girl shows up and ruins my night."
I ignore him because someone taps me on the shoulder and when I turn around, a doll magically falls from the ceiling, as an inaudible squeak escapes my lips.
BOOM! A loud gunshot-like sound reverberates, and I flinch inwardly. Curse haunted house attractions and their annoying features.
"You afraid?" asks Julian.
"No. None of this is real, maybe you're afraid." I say.
But then I feel someone grab me by the shoulders. The hand is cool and slimy -- definitely un-normal.
I shriek, springing towards Julian and slapping the hand until it goes away. And my clumsy, clumsy arms find their way to wrap around him.
My heart beats a hundred times faster, as the whole world disintegrates into nothingness. He stiffens at the intimate contact, but I eventually find the sense to untangle myself from him.
"You're definitely scared. You can keep hugging me till the end of the world if you'd like."

It is so extremely hard to write something when you're basing it off real events and people! Ugh. Also, I know Alexandria is kinda amnoying for some of you, but trust me, it gets better (:
And guys, I got braces. My teeth hurt. Just wanted to let ya'll know HAHA.
