chapter 1 : You Belong to Me
That night, as Shinichi left the police station after a long, exhausting case, he felt something strange. A chill ran down his spine. He turned around, but the street was empty, only dim streetlights casting sickly yellow glows.
“Just my imagination…?” Shinichi muttered, trying to shake off the unease.
But the moment he stepped into the small alley near his home, a shadow appeared from behind.
His arms were yanked back, a cloth soaked in chloroform pressed tightly over his face.
He struggled, but the dizziness came too fast.
Before losing consciousness, the last thing Shinichi saw was a familiar smile—and a voice, gentle yet chilling, whispered in his ear:
“You’re not going anywhere, Shinichi. Because you’re mine… forever.”
Shinichi’s eyes snapped open, a wave of nausea crashing in. He tried to move, but his wrists and ankles were tied tightly to a chair.
The room was dim, only a soft lamp casting a warm light—ironically making everything feel even scarier.
“What the hell is going on…?”
He tried to recall, but only scattered flashes came to mind:
a dark alley, the scent of sedatives, and a familiar figure approaching.
Shinichi bit his lip, trying to stay calm—but a sound shattered the silence.
Footsteps.
Slow. Steady.
Then, a voice—so familiar, so gentle it sent shivers down his spine.
“Good morning, Shinichi.”
Shinichi flinched. He looked up—into those familiar violet eyes.
But the mischief they once held was gone.
Now, there was only madness.
Soft. Obsessive.
“Kaito…?” he whispered, trying to stay composed. “What the hell are you doing?”
Kaito tilted his head, a sweet smile curling on his lips.
“Oh? You don’t get it?”
He placed a finger to his lips thoughtfully, then leaned in, warm breath grazing Shinichi’s neck.
“I’m just keeping you close… so you won’t leave me again.”
Shinichi clenched his fists, hiding the tension.
“This isn’t funny, Kaito. Let me go. Now.”
But Kaito only chuckled softly.
He reached out, gently brushing Shinichi’s cheek—affectionate, but with a chilling edge.
“I will... eventually. Just not yet.”
His voice dropped, his eyes darkening.
“Do you have any idea how much you’ve hurt me? You kept running. Pretending not to see how I feel… That was cruel, Shinichi.
But it’s okay. I’ll fix it. I’ll make you understand there’s no need to run anymore. Because you can’t.”
Shinichi’s skin crawled under that gaze.
This wasn’t the playful Kaito Kuroba he knew.
This was a predator who had decided to never let his prey go.
“Kaito… you’ve really lost your mind…”
Kaito laughed—joyful, yet soaked in madness.
He grabbed Shinichi’s chin, forcing him to look up.
“Maybe I have. But if being crazy means keeping you forever… I don’t mind, Shinichi.”
He leaned in closer, warm breath brushing against Shinichi’s lips.
“You’re mine. And you’re not leaving. Ever.”
Shinichi yanked at the ropes, but they only cut deeper into his skin.
Kaito watched, sighing softly.
Then, he pulled out a small knife, the blade gleaming under the dim light.
“Don’t squirm, Shinichi.”
He dragged the tip gently across Shinichi’s wrist, just enough to leave a thin red line.
“I don’t want to hurt you… unless you force me to.”
His voice a whisper—calm, deadly.
Then he tilted his head, eyes lighting up with twisted joy.
“You look so adorable when you’re scared, you know~”
