Shinichi thrashed wildly, but Kaito's arms closed around him like an unbreakable cage, crushing every last shred of resistance. His grip was so tight Shinichi could feel the heat radiating from him-but it wasn't the warmth of safety. It was the suffocating, bone-deep heat of a prison.

"Shinichi... you've made me very sad." Kaito's tone was gentle, almost tender, yet the violet in his eyes had gone cold, stripped of all kindness. "I gave you a chance. I was patient with you... But you still refuse to understand, don't you?"

Shinichi clenched his jaw, straining to break free, only to make Kaito's gaze sharpen with irritation. A breath later, something icy brushed his neck.

"Must I really do this?" Kaito murmured, the edge of a blade kissing his skin-just enough to sear a thin line of pain, not enough to spill blood. "I don't want to hurt you, Shinichi. But if you keep defying me... I'll have no choice but to teach you obedience."

Shinichi's breath caught, cold sweat trickling down his spine. He knew-Kaito would do anything. He had made a mistake. A deadly mistake-underestimating just how far this man's madness could reach.

"Now..." Kaito's breath was warm against his ear, his voice a low coil of threat and desire. "Tell me you won't run from me again."

Shinichi stayed silent, teeth gritted.

A shallow cut traced across his neck.

"I didn't hear you, Shinichi." Kaito's voice was soft, but each word dripped with danger.

Shinichi swallowed hard, every nerve stretched to the breaking point.

"...I won't run away again." His voice trembled despite himself.

A slow, satisfied smile unfurled across Kaito's lips. His fingers ghosted over the fresh cut, savoring the shiver that ran through Shinichi.

"Good boy." He bent down, pressing a lingering kiss to the wound. The chill of his lips against raw skin made Shinichi shudder violently.

"But you know..." Kaito's laugh was low, unsettling, his arm snaking tighter around Shinichi's waist. "I don't believe you."

Before Shinichi could react, cold steel bit into his wrist-a handcuff, clicking shut, chaining him to Kaito.

"Now," Kaito whispered, violet eyes glinting with manic devotion, "you'll never leave me, Shinichi. Not ever. Whether you want to or not."

Shinichi bit his lip, eyes fixed in despair on the chain binding them together-realizing there would be no escape.
