cageurcreativity ok ok i looked up 'whale'
    and 'chess' and came up with the whale
    variation, which is 1. e4 2. e5 3.c4.
    idk what that means but i looked further
    into it and the general consensus is that
   it's a risky maneuver on white's part & you
    take a huge risk & leave a hole in
    d4 pretty early in the game, which isn't good.
    if black is good, the plan fails.
cageurcreativity HOWEVER, i also
    discovered smth called 'whale shogi',
    which is a modern version of the japanese
    game shogi, but all the pieces are
    named after whales??
