"camp jaha," the radio spoke clear as day. "this is mount weather. can anyone read me?" kodie was sleeping with her head in her arms at the table while raven worked on her leg brace.
raven's eyes widened and she smacked kodie's back. "kodie!"
kodie shot up, worried and looked at raven. "what? what happened?"
"camp jaha," the radio repeated. "this is mount weather. can anyone read me?"
kodie immediately reached for the walkie and picked it up, holding down the button. "bellamy?"
"kodie?" his voice sounded relieved.
"are you okay?" she asked.
"i'm fine." his voice was a little staticy so raven started messing with the knobs until his voice was clear. "that's it for good news though. we have to talk fast. is clarke there?"
clarke took the walkie from kodie. "yeah, i'm here."
"something has changed." bellamy stated. "jasper, monty, everyone, they just locked them in the dorm."
"but they're alive, all of them?" clarke asked.
"i think so, for now." he said. "maya says that they're already using their blood, and things are gonna get ugly in here real fast."
clarke nodded mostly to herself. "maya is with you?"
"she helped me escape. if not for her, i'd be dead." kodie didn't like hearing that. "and, clarke, there are kids here. we need a plan that doesn't kill everyone. please tell me we have one."
"i hear you, but we can't do anything until you disable to acid fog. raven is going to help you."
"got it." bellamy responded. "what else?"
"you have to figure out a way to free the grounder prisoners. there is a whole arm inside that mountain and they don't even realize it."
"trojan horse. good plan."
"what does maya think?" kodie asked clarke.
clarke repeated kodie's question. "what does maya think? is it doable?"
it was silent for a moment before bellamy's voice rang through the radio again. "she says it's not a problem. clarke, if i'm gonna pull this off, i need you to buy me some time. It won't be long before they realize i don't belong here, and if that happens--"
kodie snatched the walkie. "that can't happen. we'll come up with something"
"come up with it quick." he responded.
"copy that." clarke took the walkie back. "and bellamy?"
"yeah?"
"you came through." she smiled. "i knew you would."
"all i've done so far is not get killed." he scoffed.
"keep doing that." she handed the walkie over to raven so she could help him disable the acid fog. "you're up."
"what are you gonna do?" raven questioned.
clarke grabbed kodie's hand and looked at raven. "we're gonna keep them looking outside instead of in." clarke had a plan. they had captured one of the mountain men that were outside the wall and were keeping him in the prison ward. clarke burst through the door and looked at the guy whose last name was emerson. that's what they called him. "get ready. you're coming with us."
kane appeared outside the prison ward. "clarke, what are you doing?"
"clarke, stop." abby stood next to him.
"no." clarke shook his head. "i'm letting the prisoner go." kodie's eyes widened at her ridiculous plan.
"absolutely not." abby shook her head, stepping closer to the three of them.
"he hasn't told us anything yet." kane stated.
"and he won't." kodie chimed in.
"he doesn't have to." clarke stated. "he's going to tell them something."
"get the prisoner back to the airlock, now." abby ordered and the guards behind her nodded.
clarke stepped forward, challenging her mom. "you may be the chancellor, but i'm in charge." she turned to emerson. "can you hear me all right? because i need to make sure you get this."
"loud and clear."
clarke stood in front of him. "i have a message for your leader." she eyed him. "we're coming for him. you're watching us, but you haven't seen a thing. the grounder army is bigger than you think, and even if you could find it, your acid fog can't hurt them, and now, thanks to you..." she trailed off and kodie raised an eyebrow, unsure of what she was about to say. "neither can the reapers." kodie had no idea what she was talking about, but she was grateful that the reapers couldn't hurt them anymore. "so you have one last chance. let our people go, and we'll let you live. it's just that simple."
emerson nodded. "i got it."
clarke grabbed his oxygen tank and trained some of the air. "it's an eight hour walk back to mount weather. you're gonna do it in six."
"six hours?" emerson looked at her in disbelief. "that's not enough. how am i supposed to deliver your message?"
"that's your problem." clarke stated. "now go."
octavia stepped forward once emerson was gone. "hold on, you want to explain to me how this helps my brother."
kodie nodded, "clarke just told him that we had a secret arm to worry about. the more theyre looking at us, the less they're looking at him."
clarke nodded in agreement. "bellamy is the key to everything, octavia. if he dies, we die."
kodie made her way back to raven to see that the girl was finished talking with bellamy. she was slightly disappointed because she wanted to be able to talk to the boy for even a few minutes, but knew it was for the best and she would see him when he saved the day and got out of mount weather.
she decided to lay down on the small bed that was in the room and drifted back to sleep, waiting for raven to wake her up again with news from bellamy.
