You sit on the bench, tapping your pencil on the clipboard as you watch Shūtoku's basketball team practice. You immediately avert your eyes towards a green-haired man. Midorima Shintaro, the ace shooting guard from Teiko Middle School, shoots a ball in the air and makes it perfectly in.

You've always had a crush on the shooting guard, but you'll never admit it because you knew his feelings weren't going to be mutual. He only saw you as the team's manager, but you've hung out with him a lot after practices. You've told his best friend Takao Kazunari, who tries his best to get you with him every time there was a chance, but the plans never worked.

"Good work today everyone." The coach lets them off, and you wait outside the gym for Midorima and Takao as they change out of their practice clothes.

"(FIRST NAME)-CHAN!" You hear Takao shouting as he runs up to you, with Midorima following behind holding his lucky item in his hand. Takao elbows you on the arm and gives you a wink. "Shin-chan, I got to go on ahead. Take (First Name)-chan home~" Takao waves and runs widely grinning off to who knows where.

Then you received a text message from Takao saying,

"Good luck, (First Name)-chan! I have a GOOD feeling today will be the day! （＾ω＾）"

Goddammit, Takao! He would leave you without telling you the plan.

As you and Midorima walk home, there is an awkward silence the whole entire time. Until Midorima pushes up his glasses and decides to break the silence.

"I've read from Oha Asa that today is a good day for (Zodiac Sign) to confess their feelings to the person they like. Have you confessed yet?" He asks straightforwardly.

You blush. "U-uh... N-no not yet..." You admit nervously. Why would he ask such a question? Was he curious or did he like you? You didn't know at all.

"I see." Again awkward silence.

Once you've reach your house, you turn back to face Midorima.

"T-thanks Midori-"

"Shintaro." He interrupts. "Just call me Shintaro." He turns his face. You glance over at him and see a slight blush forming across his face.

"U-Um, you know how you asked me if I have confessed to the person I like."

"Y-yes..." He says still looking away.

"I l-like you, Midori- I mean... Shintaro." You stammer. "I've liked you ever since the first day of basketball tryouts."

He's taken back by your confession, he honestly thought you would like Takao since you two are always laughing and smiling together. He has a blank face on, and you were afraid he might reject your feelings. So you turn around and start to walk to the porch of your house.

"G-goodnight Shinta-"

He grabs you by the hand and pulls you in for a hug. You're stunned by his actions, but you smile and hug him back gently.

You pull back to see him smile. God is his smile so beautiful. He ruffles your hair softly.

"Goodnight (First Name)."
