~12 yrs old~

My parents were arguing again. Just like they do every night. It broke my heart, and so I decided to run away that same night. I packed up as much clothes as I could. Some canned food, a tooth brush, toothpaste, and everything else I needed.

As soon as my parents went to sleep I grabbed my backpack and threw it over my back. I jumped out of my window. I looked down almost falling out. I have forgotten I lived in a 5 story house, up in the mountains, in the middle of nowhere. I breathed in deeply to calm my self. Once I was ready I jumped out and glided down to the one tree in our back yard.

I got a grip of a branch and did an Olympic flip and landed on all fours. I looked up to see the forest in front of me. I never felt so free in my life! So alive! I began running, starting my journey towards life!

That is if I find my reason in life.....

After I ran for several miles without stopping. I found a place under a fresh big tree. I stopped there and slept in for the night.

The next morning I kept walking. I daydreamed of my future to entertain myself. I kept walking aimlessly, until my feet became tired. But I didn't give up because I knew I would find my place.... sometime.....

??: Hey girly, wanna come over at my place?

I felt my ear twitch to the direction of the voice. I rubbed my ear making a disgusted face. 'I hate it when it does that!!' As I rubbed my ear I looked towards the voice.

Luxy: WHAT DO YOU WANT!!!!

The guy seemed afraid of me. Was it the way I spoke to him? I don't think so. I was pointing at something behind me. He took off running screaming. I looked behind me, and what I saw was unbelievable. It was a beautiful white dragon with dashing yellow spiked scales starting at its head going down the tip of its tail. Two yellow horns were sticking out of its head going on either side. I was too shocked to speak.

Dragon: Don't worry my child. You'll be safe. My name is Lumina. What is yours?

I could see the nature of a mother in her eyes. It calmed me down, it helped me remember what it felt like to have a mother. I felt her wrap herself around me. It felt nice.

Luxy: My name is Luxy.

Lumina: And your last name?

Luxy: My last name. I-i don't know it.

Lumina: Hmmm.... Then your last name will be Luxury.

'To be honest I thought it was very lame, but I liked having a Last name similar to my name!'

Luxy: OK! Uh but where are we going to live?

She just smiled mischievously and looked up at the storm clouds above us. I gulped, eyes wide.

Lumina: Don't you worry my child. We won't be going up there just yet. You first need to train so you can become a dragon slayer.

Luxy: A dragon slayer?

Lumina: Yes a dragon slayer. But you must rest now.

She comforted me in a nest of white clouds. She Cleared the storm clouds above us with a flap of her wings. She then wrapped herself around the nest and slept with me.

I finally found my new beginning. As well as a new family. I found my place...
