Poha/Chivda
Ingredients (Serves 2-3 people)
Poha- 1 glass
Refined oil
Onion- 2 medium sized (Thinly sliced)
Peas- around half cup
Mustard seeds- ¼ spoon
Peanuts/groundnuts
Green Chilly- 1
Turmeric- ½ spoon
Suger- ½ spoon
Red chilly powder- ⅓ spoon
Salt- 1¼ spoon
Lemon- 1
Corriander leaves (optional)
How to make Poha/Chivda?
1. First of all, you need to wash the poha/chivda. Do not stir it with your hand in the process of washing as it may cause the poha to dissolve in water. After the water starts coming clean, strain the poha in a strainer and keep the strainer containing poha aside so that if there is still any water left, it can seep out.
2. In a container, add some refined oil. Add peanuts to it and saute it for a few minutes. Take out the peanuts and keep it aside.
3. Add some more refined oil (if required) and add mustard seeds to it. Add onion and saute it till onion becomes light brownish in colour.
4, Add peas and saute again for a few minutes.
5. Add the peanuts that you had kept aside earlier. Also add green chilly to it after cutting it in small pieces.
6. Now add salt, sugar, turmeric, red chilly powder. Squeeze one lemon in it. Mix everything and saute.
7. Add poha to it and mix it gently. After mixing, turn off the gas and cover it with a lid for sometime.
Andddd, the poha is ready to eat. Sprinkle corriander leaves on the top before serving.
