She Pays the Price 

What is the worth, of a mother's love;
of the sacrifice and the price she pays?
Her brow of sweat and cheeks of tears,
nights of sleep that can not be found.
Days spent in love's labor, long.

Knees bruised in earnest prayers,
for the child of her womb, covers...
A debit that is repaid leisurely, through
single moments of harvested joy,
mingled with pain's wretched taste.

Her own flesh given sentient breath,
through a willing sacrifice of her life's
blood. The worth can not be counted;
but in the Heaven's...among smiling eyes,
of the child who speaks, "Mother".
