Chapter 13
Author: before we begin, I made a small error on chapter 11. I accidentally called Amy a cat. I will try to not make mistakes like this again.
Dark Pit led us through a cave. I was quite suspicious of him still.
"You don't have to trust me," he finally said as if reading my mind.
"How-"
"You were very tense, plus you have your sword out." I looked down and saw he was right.
"I wasn't aware that it was out."
"Hmph." We continued.
"Why did you say we don't have to trust you?" Tails asked.
"Most people don't. I'm kind of an outcast. They don't trust me, I don't trust them. I've gotten use to it. Took me long enough to trust him," he pointed at Bowser Jr. Finally, we reached the end of the cave. Dark Pit put his hand on the wall. The ground started to rumble. The wall moved.
"Come on in," he said once the rumbling stopped. He led us into a large room. Dark curtains covered every wall. A elevated table was in the center. A black caldron leaned against the west wall. A bed on the east.
"You live here?" Bowser Jr asked in amazement.
"Yes, speaking of which," he turned towards us. "You were supposed to come alone. That's the promise we made."
"I know, but they're good at sneaking around."
"If you want to talk to him, you can tell us two," I replied.
"NO!" He shouted. We took a step back. "Sorry, I tend to lose my cool." He sighed. "Guess I'll tell you. I know who's leading the dark army." Again I took a step back.
"You do?!"
"Yes. Unfortunately I know him."
"Who?" Tails asked.
"A former fighter in the Smash Tournament. Gannondorf."
Silence.
"I assumed it was him after all the info we know of his army," I finally said after a long silence.
"How did you find out?" Tails asked.
"Simple, he told me."
"What?"
Again, Dark Pit sighed. "It was a long time ago. At the tournament, he approached me wanting me to help him with something. A master plan, he said. I refused. I may be a dark angel, nothing more than a clone of another, but I don't want to see this world destroyed. He threatened me. If I didn't help him, he would destroy me. I took that chance to run. After some thinking, I decided to leave the tournament, for my sake, and my allies. I gave Bowser Jr an amulet and map so if we ever needed the other, we could just touch the amulet to the map and find each other."
"Is that why you called me here? To tell me the info?" Bowser Jr asked.
"Yes. I wasn't aware you were fighting his army. I've been secluded here for sometime now. I attack you because I didn't want anyone to invade my privacy." He escorted us out the cave.
"You could come with us," Tails told him.
"What?"
"You said you didn't want to see this world destroyed. You can help us fight him." I was half expecting him to say no immediately.
"I'll think about it," he replied surprising me. We left back to the woods.
"That was nice of you," I finally told Tails.
"Well, it's true. The best way to save a world is to help." I couldn't help but admire his kindness. He was always kind and a tad sarcastic at times, but a good person. Suddenly my head started to hurt badly.
"I'm going to refill my water bottle. Stay here." I said running off.
Tails watched as Rhion ran off. Something was up. Before he could suggest the idea to BJ, a noice caught his attention. He pointed in the direction of the noice to BJ. His parter nodded and they went to investigate. They walked into a clearing.
"Tails I've got a bad feeling-" Bowser Jr was cut short as 12 Shadow Beasts surrounded them. Before either of them could scream, one of them pounced on Tails, covering his mouth. He tried to scream for Bowser Jr to run and get Rhion, but it held its claws to his throat. A warning sign to his friend not to run or else. Bowser Jr got the message and nodded. The Shadow Beast holding him wrapped its claws around Tails's neck. Six of them walked in front while 5 walked behind. Tails started shaking. His friend tried to get closer to him, but his captor screeched. Another warning sign. Suddenly, one of the leaders stoped. It screeched. A lightning strike hit the one holding Tails dropping him in the process. A blur of motion launched itself at the others. The others, ignoring there captives, charged straight at it. As soon as one came near, it fell. One managed to scratch it but it fell soon after. All the Shadow Beasts fell. The blur stood still. A female with short blue hair and eyes stood before them. She wore a black tank with white sleeves at the elbows and pink straps on it along black shorts and silver boots. She ran over to them.
"Are you two okay?" Tails nodded. Bowser Jr helped his friend up. The girl came eye level with them and looked at Tails's throat.
"Looks like those creatures didn't hurt you too much."
"What about your arm?" Tails asked. A large claw mark had opened a wound. She smiled.
"I'll be okay, my friend is a great healer."
"That blade-" Bowser Jr said pointing to her sword. It was silver and blue with a strange end to it.
"This?" She asked holding it up. "This is Rainfell, my Keyblade."
"Keyblade?" Tails asked. "I thought there were no more Keyblade Wielders." She laughed.
"We are still here," she said walking away, "if you know where to look."
"Wait!" Tails called. "What's your name?"
She turned around. "Aqua."
