Zara sat opposite Fejiro in an open restaurant, visibly waiting for him to lay out his excuses. Fejiro was scared to hell. He kept on ransacking his vocabulary for the right sentence to start with him but none was coming to mind. Zara almost rolled her eyes at how timid he looked.

"Oga Fejiro, I've been sitting here for ten minutes now. If you don't have anything to say, I'll like to take my leave." Zara said, grabbing her bag which was on the table and was about stand up. Fejiro immediately held onto her hands firmly and looked at her with pleading eyes. She looked at him for some time before reluctantly sitting down back on her seat.

Fejiro bowed his head as he spoke, "Aunty, I just got admission into UNILAG."

Zara frowned, "And how's that supposed to be any of my business?"

"I'm not trying to brag or anything but I'm just trying to tell you that I'm trying, I want to be a better person for Ajay." Fejiro confessed and Zara hissed loudly.

"I want to be a better person for Ajay." She mimicked him mockingly with her mouth spread widely, "Look, let me warn you. Stay. Away. From. My. Friend. Stay away from Ajay. That girl has suffered a lot already..." Zara's voice squeaked a little from all the emotions her voice held, "She's such a beautiful and hardworking girl with a pure soul. But you guys always make her seem stupid. She just wants to be happy and live happily with a guy that adores her. Is that so much to ask?"

Fejiro bowed his head in shame. Ajay truly deserved much more. She was a rare gem and his feelings for her seemed to overwhelm him. He truly wanted to be with her, and just her alone.

"Aunty Zara, I'm not married. I swear. Since when my papa born me, I never carry any woman go alter before. Efosa is lying. She just dey lie." Fejiro explained in a cracked voice that made him sound as if he wanted to cry.

"But....."

"Aunty, just wait make I explain." Fejiro pleaded, cutting in, "I met Efosa the day she was almost raped by some touts at Ajengunle. I managed to help her and we escaped. She had nowhere to stay so I offered her a place in my apartment. Yes, I agree we once had a spark but aunty I swear, I have never touched that girl before, like the fuck, I have never even  kissed her before. How can we even be married? I know I tried my best to convince Ajay not to visit me at my place, but Aunty Zara, I didn't want to introduce her to that part of me yet. It wasn't even because of Efosa." Fejiro explained and Zara listened very attentively.

"I don't know how to explain what I feel for Ajay. But the truth is every single thing she does drives me crazy; her smile, the way she walks, her scent, the way she laughs, even her terrible overly spicy porridge yam." That earned a giggle from Zara.

"Ajay is really a terrible cook." Zara chuckled

"She actually is." Fejiro concurred, nodding his head severally before both of them bursted into stifled laughter. Fejiro took a deep breath and drew his seat closer to the table, placing his palms together.

"Aunty Zara, please just arrange a meeting with Ajay for me. I just need a chance to explain to her that's all." Fejiro pleaded.

Zara nodded in agreement, taking a sip from her glass of juice.

Ajay stretched her arms as she yawned. She just concluded another vlog with the popular Tacha. It was really tiring as they carried out serious gaming activities. Her heels clicked as they come in contact with the floor as she moved towards her car. Her feet were really killing her and she had forgotten to put a spare slippers in her bag today as she would normally do, due to her extreme lateness. She had a lot to drink and even had a one night stand with two different guys as usual to get Fejiro off her mind.

When she got to her car, she met a pair of cute flip flops resting on the bonnet of her car. She couldn't help but admire them before even looking around to look for the mysterious owner but no one was close in sight. Admiring them for the last time, she took the pair and carefully placed them on the flower bed just beside where her car was parked.

When she turned to get into her car, she was shocked to see a nervous Fejiro standing few meters in front of her with very sad looking eyes. She froze and memories of what happened on his birthday came flooding back into her head once again and she found herself almost giving in to her emotions. She forced herself to snap out of it with a loud hiss.

The riff raff was not worth it

She walked straight to the door of her car and unlocked it, pretending like no one was standing there. It was only when she sat comfortably on the driver's seat, almost closing the door that Fejiro gathered the courage to run up to her.

"Ajay, please wait..." Fejiro said almost loudly, walking briskly towards her. Ajay totally ignored him, placing her car keys at the ignition. He ran past her, got the flipflops and stood against her open car door, placing the cute flipflops on the ground close to her.

"You....You can wear this." Fejiro offered nervously. Ajay glared at him for an explanation, "I noticed your....your feet hurt."

Ajay hissed loudly, "Please, excuse me." She eyeballed Fejiro disgustingly, grabbing onto the handle of her car door.

Fejiro fell on his knees at that instant, "A...Ajay, please let me explain, please."

"Mr man, kindly excuse me. You're in my way." Ajay harshly requested. It only broke Fejiro's heart the more.

"Babe, babe... Just believe me this time. Babe.. I swear to Almighty God and everything I live by, I'm not married." Fejiro said hurriedly in panic. He was so scared she would drive out on him if he didn't say anything. Ajay remained quiet, staring at him in contempt. Tears started streaming down Fejiro's eyes. She had never looked at him like that since he met her. He was so certain all that was left for him in her heart was hatred.

"Ajay, I swear, I'm not married. Efosa was lying, I promise you. Just give me a chance to explain everything please. I'll tell you everything, I promise. I won't hide any fucking damn thing from you ever again. Just one chance to explain, I beg you." Fejiro pleaded in tears, sobbing like a three-year old with his palms joined together.

Ajay started at him for some time before heaving a sigh, "Fejiro, please, I seriously am not in the mood for all these drama. If you don't mind, I'll like you to move so that I can close this door and leave this place." Ajay said, totally ignoring all his pleas. Fejiro just remained kneeling in his spot. His shoulders quavering and his lips trembling as he continued sobbing.

"Ajay please......" Fejiro muttered amidst sobs

When Fejiro made no move to leave where he was obstructing the closure of the door to her car, Ajay started the engine and began moving forward slowly. Fejiro kept crawling forward along with her still trying to beg his way through to her heart.

"Ajay, please don't do this to me. I honestly can't live without you. Just please let me explain." Fejiro begged, speaking very rapidly. His throat already felt dry due to his excessive crying. Ajay moved a little forward until she was able to close the door without hurting Fejiro in anyway. Then she made her way to reverse the car. Fejiro panicked at this, standing up and running after her. Her glasses were all whined up so Fejiro only knocked on them loudly as he begged her.

"...... Babe, please don't do this to me. I will just die." Fejiro begged as he kept knocking on her glass. Ajay paused the car at that. Fejiro heart almost came out through his mouth when he noticed she stopped. His heart rate increased when she whined down her glass and looked at him for some time.

"You should have thought of that when you decided to have another woman warming your bed even while we were together." Ajay snarled rather calmly. Fejiro shook his head severally as she spoke, in denial, fresh set of tears forming in his eyes.

"Ajay no....." Fejiro was saying, but Ajay already completed her turn and zoomed off. Fejiro kicked the cute flipflops in frustration, breaking down again. He cried so hard that passer-bys constantly wondered what was wrong with him, although none of them cared to ask.

Fejiro dried his tears after sometime. He wasn't going to give up easily. He decided to visit her every single day until she listens to him.

Zara watched as Ajay packed the last set of clothes into a big traveling bag. She was leaving the country in two hours. Zara had tried to talk to her concerning Fejiro but Ajay wouldn't bulge.

After that episode with Fejiro, Ajay called her dad and told him to process her application into the University of Massachusetts immediately, to continue with her Masters. Her father was both surprised and overjoyed to hear that she finally agreed to further her studies. It was more shocking that she wanted to leave the following day.

She was hell bent on becoming a vlogger and totally refused to further her engineering career. Her father was not so happy, but he respected her decision and allowed her choose what she wanted to do with her time. He knew she would succeed as always and encouraged her all the time.

With his connections, everything was put in place and she was set to leave 3pm the following day. Ajay was so happy. She needed a break from every single thing.

"Ajay, so you want to leave me here all alone?" Zara said sadly as she helped her zip the traveling bag.

"All alone ke? Is Kenechukwu Arinze not enough company for you, this girl.... Ohh sorry, this woman?" They both bursted into laughter. Since Zara's engagement, Ajay has made it a duty to refer to her as 'woman'. Ajay brought down the traveling bag from her bed and placed her hand bag on the handle.

"Oya my wedding nko... You know you're my chief bridesmaid abi?" Zara sniffed, taking a seat on the bed.

"Ahhh... I am not even dragging it with anybody. Just inform me when the date is fixed. I will come down here immediately so that we'll plan everything together, you hear?" Ajay assured Zara, placing her palm lovingly on Zara's shoulder.

Zara shrugged it off, "Abeg leave me johh. Just because of one person you decided to leave everybody." Zara mumbled.

Ajay crouched beside Zara and looked at her face. Zara was already tearing up. Ajay smiled at her friends childishness, "Mumu, so very soon now you'll carry belle." Ajay teased, and Zara laughed.

"Werey! So that's the only thing that you can think of?"

"Yes now! Abeg don't carry this your cry cry and teach my godchildren o." Zara laughed loudly and Ajay smiled, happy that she was able to release the tension.

"I'll miss you." Ajay said after sometime.

"I'll miss you so much, Ajayziskosko." Zara drawled, and they held each other tightly in an embrace. The tears they were trying to conceal all poured out at that moment. They had stayed together for so long and being apart was going to be very difficult to adapt to. Ajay's popular ringtone ended their little moment. It was her cab driver.

"Hello, I'll be out in a minute." Ajay spoke into the phone drying her tears with her palms. Zara helped Ajay call the gateman, Sule, who helped them carry Ajay's two travelling bags outside the gate where the cab was parked.

"Don't worry, I'll video call you every Friday." Ajay waved Zara as she got into the back seat of the car.

"Except you want to die ni." Zara warned and Ajay laughed.

"Bye baby girl. I'll miss you." Ajay screamed, waving Zara as the taxi moved. Both Sule and Zara waved her back. They both waved each other until they could no longer see each other.

"Sule, why were you trying to collect my bye bye?" Zara asked, glaring at him.

"Second madam, no vex." Sule bowed in apology. Zara eyeballed him, hissed and walked into the house, banging the gate on purpose.

A few hours later, Fejiro came to see Ajay as promised to try to explain himself to her only to meet an empty house with only Sule at the gate who outrightly refused to let him in. Ajay had blocked all his numbers so he couldn't get across to her and Zara had returned back to her fiance's house so he didn't want to interrupt.

"Sule abeg, na madam I wan follow talk. I no go waste time."

"How many times I go tell you say madam don travel? She travel go obodoyibo this afternoon. E never tey like that the time she comot."

Fejiro's heart stopped for a moment, but he shook his head in disbelief, "Sule a.abeg, if na joke, just stop am."

"If you no go believe, you leave na. This house no go get occupant until further notice, na just me dey here."

Fejiro staggered back in shock as his knees grew weak. He held onto the wall for support as he pulled his phone out of his pocket. He just had to call Zara to at least hear what she had to say.

She picked after the fourth ring, "Hello, Aunty Zara..." Fejiro's cracked voice only confirmed Zara's suspicion.

"I'm so sorry Fejiro. You know how stubborn Ajay can be."

"But you would have told me...." Fejiro sniffed as a lone tear rolled down his cheek.

"Fejiro, it wouldn't have changed anything. Ajay's mind was already made up."

"But I would've tried at least. Aunty Zara, you don't understand, I can't live without Ajay. I just can't. That girl is my life!" Fejiro screamed in frustration. He didn't know what else to do.

"I'm sorry Fejiro. But you just have to move on. Ajay is not coming back anytime soon." Fejiro's heart shattered into tinier pieces as he bursted into sobs. He rubbed his head in frustration and sat down on the bare ground using the wall for support.

"I'm really sorry Fejiro. I need to go now. Take care of yourself." Zara felt really bad for poor Fejiro. She sighed loudly, ending the call. She really did try her best to talk to Ajay.

Fejiro sat there crying as he stared at a picture of Ajay she had placed in his wallet to look at whenever he missed her. Just when he decided to let go of his past and brace happiness, life decided to play tricks on him. She was everything he wanted. He really loved her and had plans for their future together. He didn't know where he was headed to and what plans he had for his life anymore because everything he did was for Ajay.

She was his world in a solar system of people.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Ajay has finally left Fejiro in shambles.

It wasn't easy for them to be together and they ended things so easily. Why is it always that way?

Relationships are very hard to build, but one mistake and everything you've worked hard for just goes down the drain.

I want to really appreciate you guys for being with me up to this point. Your votes and comments, corrections, really went a very long way for me.

This may or may not be the end of LTMS...

BUT ANYWAYS, THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
