"I'm not nervous."
Late 2000s
———————————————
Ji-Hye added a last touch of light makeup. She didn't want to put on a whole bunch of makeup since it was just for one party. Ji-Hye got up from her vanity, walking up to her mirror that was standing on her closet door. She observed her makeup and dress, the color red did suit her, the dress that her grandma gave her did suit her well. She was surprised that her own grandma would ever give her a dress like this. Ji-Hye's phone began to vibrate, she looked over to her side and looked who was calling, it was Gi-Hun. She picked up, answering the call.
"Hey, everything okay?" Ji-Hye asked
"Yeah, I just wanted to say that we're on our way to pick you up."
"Oh okay, I'll get my heels on."
"I'll recommend you to bring extra shoes just in case because." Gi-Hun chuckled in embarrassment "We're going by bus and we need to walk, sorry, we don't own a car."
"Well that's alright, that doesn't matter."
"Oh? I thought it would be a big deal since when you were with Joon-Ho, you always went in car with your friends." Gi-Hun and Sang-Woo sighed in relief, Ji-Hye smiled
"If you knew me, I actually do like walking. So it's not a big deal, just call me when you get here, bye Gi-Hun."

Sang-Woo was quiet as he and Gi-Hun were walking over to Ji-Hye's place. Sang-Woo didn't know what to say, he and Ji-Hye left on a confusing note, it was an unsolved feeling that they haven't talked about at all since Ji-Hye left to go back home. Sang-Woo wanted to talk to Gi-Hun about it but considering Gi-Hun had a lot of failing relationships, it wouldn't work out.
"What ya thinking about there?" Asked Gi-Hun, Sang-Woo looked over at his direction, shrugging. "Ah c'mon, don't be like that, you can tell me. Is it about Ji-Hye?"
"No, it's not about Ji-Hye."
"Then who else can it be? You barely have a social life. The only people you actually talk to are me, Ji-Hye, your mom... and that's it." Sang-Woo rolled his eyes at Gi-Hun "Hey, it was a joke."
"It is about Ji-Hye." Sang-Woo admitted "We left on a confusing note."
"Do you like her?" Gi-Hun asked, Sang-Woo shrugged "You two are the most confusing people that I ever met."
"Yeah there's feelings but I feel like me and Ji-Hye were better as friends, there wasn't any awkwardness, we hung out more when we were friends."
"Things can change a lot, look. It's about to be a new year, you and Ji-Hye should just start fresh, again. Act like you are just getting to know each other for the first time."
"That does sound like a good idea, I'll talk to Ji-Hye about it."
"Speaking of her, I got to message her that we're here." Gi-Hun took his phone out and sent her a message, Sang-Woo placed his hands in his pockets. "She'll be down in a minute, don't be nervous." Gi-Hun teased.
"I'm not nervous, just awkward."
"You are."
"Am not."
"You are nervous, it's okay to be."
"I'm not nervous."
"Of course you're going to be nervous, you're going to stand and talk to a beautiful woman."
"Gi-Hun, for the last time, I'm not nervous."
"Yeah you are."
"I am not."
"You two act like my younger cousins, bickering and teasing each other." Ji-Hye laughed. Sang-Woo turned a bit to see Ji-Hye's presence, he thought Ji-Hye was the most beautiful woman to walk on earth as he looked at her up and down.
"We're glad that you could come with us." Gi-Hun embraced Ji-Hye into a hug which she returned happily
"I'm glad you invited me, a New Years party doesn't sound bad." Ji-Hye pulled back and looked at Sang-Woo. "Well, hey there." Ji-Hye bit the inside of her cheek
"Hey, glad you could make it. How was your vacation?"
"It was fun, I spent a lot of time with my Grandma and family. It was really great."
"That's nice, glad that you had a great vacation."
AUTHOR- just a short little chapter <33
I find the awkwardness between Sang-Woo and Ji-Hye so funny and then you have Gi-Hun standing there like 🧍🏻 :D
