PLAUGE Levi X Reader
Day 1
'Good morning, Trost... I wish I could say that it's actually a good morning,' the newscaster began as the seven o'clock news came on for its regularly scheduled program. 'Everyone is encouraged to stay indoors. I repeat, everyone is encouraged to stay indoors. A dangerous disease has started to spread across the world. There have not been reports of it in Trost yet, but there have been reports of it in surrounding cities and towns.
All roads are closed. There will be no traffic in or out of the city. Barriers will be put in place in order to attempt to isolate the disease. Please do not try and escape past the barriers. The military has guards posted on current roads that are not blocked off. If you refuse to turn around, force will be used.
That is all for today's news. Please stay indoors, stay healthy, and stay out of trouble. Tune in later for more information.
I'm Erwin Smith, news channel six.'
I placed my hands on the counter to try and grip what I had just heard. My head spun as I began to worry for all of my friends that didn't live in Trost. We're they infected? Are they safe? So many thoughts ran through my head, so I quickly to my phone and sent out a mass text to all of my friends.
To: WEIRDOS UNITE
Are you all okay? Please let me know ASAP!!!
I set my phone down on a table and began to pace from my living room to my kitchen. The thought of a major disease spreading scared me. I didn't know what to think, I didn't know what to do. The one thing I knew not to do was panic, but it was kind of hard not to when there was a horrible disease right outside my door.
Soon my phone began to buzz like crazy. I walked up to it and picked it up. I began to read every message, one at a time. Some were of panic, but everyone said that they were okay and that they haven't been exposed.
Finally, I was able to be at ease knowing that they were still alive and well.
Day 2
'Hello, Trost. Today the disease is still spreading. More and more people are getting sick. It's recommended that you try and stay four to six feet apart from people at all times, wash your hands, cover your mouth when you cough, and no hugging or kissing loved ones.
Yes, I know this is painful to hear, but the sooner we take steps to avoid a plague, the better off we will be as a race.
Once again, stay tuned in for more information.
Erwin Smith, news channel six.'
I began to ration my food. Luckily, I had gone shopping before this disease alert started. I knew that I had to prepare for the worst to happen. If I didn't, I could be so much worse off. Like being sick, hungry, and/or dead. None of those options appealed to me. I rather be safe inside my house with plenty of food.
After I went through my food, I barricaded my doors. I piled tables and chairs in front of them, making it harder to get it, or at least louder so I could hear the intruder entering. Then, I put blankets in front of every window. It made it harder to see inside the house at the very least.
Day 4
There was no updating on the news yet. They just played the same message over and over again. Honestly, I was a little annoyed. I felt that they should have been keeping us constantly updated, even though it may have been the smallest thing.
I kept the TV on all day and all night. I even slept in my living room so I could hear if there was any update.
Walls have been made around every city in the surrounding area. No one in, no one out. I was clueless as to how we were supposed to get food. It was only a matter of time before people started to riot, break into other houses, and who knows what else. It was a good thing that there was still electricity, otherwise, people would grow impatient and wreak havoc almost right away.
Day 8
The rioting began. Electricity was shut off around day five.
People we in the streets yelling, shouting, fighting, anything to please them. But really, none of that helped our current situation. We were all supposed to stay four to six feet away from each other. If anything, they were only spreading the disease that we were all warned about. They were only making things worse. That's why I stayed inside.
Luckily, I had a battery operated radio. I was able to listen to whatever news they decided to tell us. So far it has been pretty much the same since the second day, but there were mini updates here and there.
As I was laying on my couch, I noticed movement outside my window. It cast a shadow into my living room. Naturally curious, I lifted myself off of my couch and crept over to the window, slowly peeled the blanket away, and peered outside. What I saw made me jump back and let out a yelp. I saw two eyes looking back at me.
"Let me in," he demanded. My eyes went wide as I only stared at him. He rapped on the window a few times to get my attention. "I said, let me in."
I shook myself out of my dazed-like state and looked back at him. "Are you sick?" He shook his head. "Have you been exposed?" He shook his head once more. I sighed and lifted myself off of my floor and walked to my door. I moved everything out of the way and let him in. Without hesitation, I pulled my shirt up and over my nose to try and prevent from catching germs.
The unknown man walked inside my home. He slid off his shoes once he entered. 'Polite.' I thought.
He plopped himself down on my couch after I had shut the door and piled the things back in front of it.
I stood there and stared at him. I knew him from somewhere, but where?
As I stared, he looked up at me. A 'tch' noise escaped his mouth. "Could you be any ruder? Staring at a man. At least ask questions or pretend like I'm not here. You stare like every other girl does; undressing me with their eyes." He rolled his eyes.
Okay, maybe he wasn't polite.
"Woah. I was not undressing you with my eyes!" I had to defend myself since he was accusing me of something I wasn't doing. "I was wondering who the hell you are and why you look so familiar. Why would I undress you with my eyes?! I'm not a fucking pervert."
Day 12
'Today or the past two weeks have not been great for us. We have seen rioting, sickness, and panicked people more than ever before. And to top it all off, the disease is still spreading. There have been reports of symptoms: coughing, sneezing, bleeding out of orifices, internal bleeding, rash, small bumps on the skin, mental breakdowns, and suicidal thoughts. The list goes on and on.
It pains me to say that we may be verging on a plague.
I'm Mike Zacharius, you local new bringer.'
I turned to Levi to see what his thoughts were. All he did was shrug his shoulders.
Currently, he was scrubbing my house down to make it as clean as possible.
"What happened to Erwin?" I asked. I was curious as to why he wasn't doing the news anymore. The last time I heard him was the same broadcast they were airing over the radio a few days ago.
Levi shrugged. "Dead I presume. Last time I saw him, he had some of the symptoms. That's why I had to get out of there. I wasn't going to risk getting sick by those assholes." He talked as he cleaned. My house already looked 20 times cleaner since he's been here and cleaning.
Since I've been with Levi for four days, I learned that he was a co-news anchor for channel six, and that was why he looked so familiar to me.
"You know, it sucks that we met under such conditions," I began while I picked up a rag to help clean. "Maybe we could have been friends before this if I ever actually met you." I had a solemn face as I scrubbed the wall of my kitchen. Levi said it was the dirtiest room, so we had to clean it first.
"Tch, yeah right. Like I would have talked to someone like you. Just because you're cute, doesn't mean that I'd talk to you. But I'm glad that I'm not alone during this." He admitted.
I looked to Levi, curious. "So how come you picked my house?"
"Others weren't stupid enough to open their door like you."
Day 19
"Shit is going down outside," I informed Levi as I held the blanket far enough away from the window for him to see. He got up from my couch and peered outside. People were trying to break into houses, others were dead in the street with other trying to gather the bodies to burn them.
We were all informed that this disease had evolved into a plague. Thousands and thousands of healthy people were dying and there was nothing anyone could do about it.
Levi grabbed me by my waist and pulled into the kitchen. We ducked down under my table and stayed hidden. We didn't want people knowing that there were people inside my house.
"We need to get the fuck out of here," he still had a grip on my waist and it tightened as he said those words. "Bad shit is going to happen and I don't want either of us getting sick with all these brats running around with their little germs."
After 48 hours, we said screw it to the 'four to six feet apart' thing because if we weren't showing signs after two days then we more than likely weren't infected.
"Levi, you can let go," I said as I peeled his arm off of me. He had a tight grip. I practically had to pry him off of me.
He hummed and changed the subject. "How do you think your friends are doing? Healthy enough to go see?"
I shrugged. I haven't heard from them since my phone died. Since there wasn't electricity I couldn't get a hold of them, and I had no other way to contact them besides driving to see them, but that was off limits.
"Whatever. I have a place to go. We just need to get out of here," He sat behind me and pulled me into his arms protectively. That was the first time that he did it and it caught me off guard. It managed to put the lightest color of pink on my cheeks. "We leave tonight."
Day 20
I loaded every food item I possibly could into my car that was parked in my garage. Levi grabbed other essentials that I had and also threw them in my car.
Once we had everything we thought we needed, Levi got in my car as I stood by my garage door. I had an old garage door that had to be open and shut by hand, no remote or electricity.
When the door was fully open, I quickly hopped into the passenger seat of my car as Levi took off flying down the road. Once I buckled up, I also buckled Levi since he himself neglected to do so himself.
"Where are we heading?" I asked after I got myself situated in my seat.
He smirked and gripped the steering wheel a bit tighter as he drove into the night. "You'll see..."
