Just Stop Talking

"We should go look for them." Stephanie said, turning to Isaac. "Can you find their scent?"

Isaac turned to Stephanie with wide eyes before looking around the room at the other three eyes on him. He turned to Peter and shrugged. "Can you find something with Dereks scent?"

Peter instantly turned around, walking to the desk with the blueprints of the bank and grabbed a jacket that sat on one of the chairs. He threw it to Isaac and the boy turned to Stephanie, silently asking if she was ready to go and when she nodded, the two went to run out of the loft but was stopped by a voice.

"Wait, I'm coming with you."

Isaac and Stephanie turned around to see Will running to his bag, pulling out a gun, making Stiles step back. "Woah! Dude, you just... had that in your bag?"

Will turned to Stiles as he put the gun in his belt loop, nodding his head before turning to Stephanie and Isaac. "Dad and Argent have been teaching me. I'd say I'm getting pretty good."

Stephanie sighed, turning to Isaac who just shrugged. Stephanie turned to Will and nodded. "Well, let's go."

...

"Are you sure they're here?" Will asked as the three walked through the words. Isaac looked around at the rows of trees. "We're in the vast vicinity. He could be anywh-"

A loud roar cut Isaac off, making the three teens eyes widen. "Well we found someone." Stephanie whispered.

The three immediately ran towards the roars and watched Cora take slow strides to a scared girl.

Isaac jumped into Cora's line of sight, Will and Stephanie behind him. Cora let out a loud roar as Isaac jumped to her, going to slash her face but she blocked it, grabbing onto him and throwing him at a nearby tree.

"Hey!" Stephanie screamed, making Cora turn towards her. In one quick hand movement, Stephanie sent Cora flying into a tree.

Scott and Derek appeared, running passed Isaac, Stephanie and Will. Derek let out a loud alpha roar, making Cora run away.

Stephanie watched as the girl ran before turning to the three wolves. In an instant, Stephanie, Isaac and Derek ran after Cora.

Will looked at the three with wide eyes, throwing his arms in the air. "Wh- Is there just some supernatural mind talking I'm not in on?" Will breathed out, running after the three as Scott checked on the girl Cora almost killed.

...

"This doesn't make any sense. The public pool is all the way on the other side of the woods. We haven't tracked them anywhere near there." Derek rambled after they lost Cora and Stiles called saying there was a body at the town pool.

Stephanie turned her head, sending the man a slight glare. "Derek, they killed someone."

"How are they moving so fast?" Derek asked quietly, ignoring Stephanie's words. "Derek." Scott repeated but he just mindlessly shook his head. "But they can't be that fast on foot."

Will groaned, turning to Derek. "They killed someone. Some totally innocent kid is dead..."

"And it's our fault." Scott added and Derek finally looked up, slowly shaking his head. "It's my fault."

"We need help." Scott said and Derek shrugged. "We have Isaac now. And Steph and Will." Derek said, making the three stand proudly. Scott looked at the three and shook his head. "I mean real help."

Their smiles fell as Scott turned back to Derek. "They're too fast for us, for all of us. They're too strong... too rabid."

"We'll catch 'em." Derek said in confidence, making Scott roll his eyes. "What happens if we do? We just gonna hold them down until the sun comes up?"

"Maybe it would be easier just to kill 'em." Isaac said, making Stephanie whip around to him, smacking his arm. "Killing them isn't the right thing to do." Derek said, shaking his head.

"What if it's the only thing to do? If we can't even catch them, what else do we do?" Derek yelled at Scott. "Find someone who knows what they're doing." Scott screamed, making Derek groan.

"Who?" Derek asked, shrugging in annoyance. Wills eyes went wide in realization, turning to Derek. "Someone who knows how to hunt werewolves."

...

Derek, Will, Stephanie and Isaac watched as Scott tried to talk to Chris Argent in the supermarket parking lot; Will and Derek sitting in the front seats and Stephanie and Isaac in the back.

Isaac pursed his lips, looking to the three faces. "Do you think this is gonna work?" Will and Stephanie instantly shook their heads as Derek quickly answered. "Nope."

Isaac sighed, leaning back into the seats and wrapping an arm around Stephanies shoulders, resting his head on top of hers. "Me neither."

It grew quiet in the car, making Will nervous as he tried to think of something to say to drown out the awkwardness. He quickly turned to Derek and gave him a small smile. "So your, uh... your sister..."

Derek immediately turned to Will, sending him a warning glare, making Will nod his head, turning to look forward. "Right, uh... bad timing considering she's kinda killing a bunch of people right now. I'm sorry. We can talk about it later."

Stephanie turned her head to look up at Isaac, giving him an 'are you kidding me' look at her brothers words. Isaac, who sat in the seat behind Will, signed, slowly leaning forward in his seat, putting his hand over Wills mouth to muffle his words. "Just... stop talking."

Stephanie leaned forward, hitting Dereks shoulder and pointing at Argents car. "They're driving! They're driving! Go, go, go."

Derek looked off to the hunters car driving and immediately started following it.

...

"You're tracking them by print?" Chris asked, looking up to Will who stood a few feet away from him, his arms crossed. "Trying to."

Chris nodded, looking back to the ground. "Well, then, you've been wasting your time. There's only one creature on earth that can visually track footprints, and that's man. And if you're not trained like me, you have no idea that this print is Boyd's and these-"  "Are Cora's." Isaac answered.

"Nope. They're yours. You trampled Cora's as soon as you walked over here." Chris said, making Isaac's face drop, stepping off to the side, pulling Stephanie with him.

"Listen, I know that you three are focusing half your energy on resisting your own urges under the full moon, but that puts you at a severe disadvantage to Boyd and Cora, who have fully given in. They put the pedal to the floor where you three are barely hitting the speed limit." Chris said, looking to the three werewolves.

"So what do we do?" Stephanie shrugged, looking down at the man. Chris turned to her, pointing at Isaac beside her. "Focus on your sense of smell. Actual wolves are known to track their prey by up to a hundred miles a day by scent. A trained hunter can use scent to track them. If the wind is with them, wolves can track a scent by a distance of two miles, which means we can draw them to us... Or into a trap."

Chris looked into his bag, pulling out a net he threw to Isaac, and two googles he threw to Will and Stephanie. "Full moon does give us one advantage. They'll have a higher heat signature, which makes them easier to spot with infrared."

He went to throw a pair of goggles to Derek but he shook his head. "Thanks, but I've got my own."

Chris nodded, throwing the pair to Isaac. "Just remember, we're not hunting wild animals. Underneath those impulses are two intelligent human beings. Don't think they can't rely on that human side. It's suppressed, but it's there, reminding them how to mask their scent, how to cover their tracks, How to survive."

He turned to Derek with a scrunched face. "When's the last time you saw your sister?" Derek looked off into the woods, sighing as he thought of an answer. "Nine years. I thought she died in the fire."

"Do you feel like you have a lock on her scent?" Chris asked and Derek immediately shook his head. Chris sighed, turning to Scott. "Scott, how confident are you in your skills?"

Scott let out a dry chuckle, shrugging. "Honestly, most of the time, I'm trying not to think about all the things I can smell."

Chris let out a silent groan at their odds, shaking his head. "All right. The problem is when they breach the woods and hit the residential area. Once they're past the high school, they're right in the middle of Beacon Hills."

"They're not gonna kill everything they see, are they?" Isaac asked, looking to the man worriedly. "No. But there is an important difference to recognize. Wolves hunt for food. At a certain point, they get full. But Boyd and Cora are hunting for the pleasure of the kill, for some primal apex predatory satisfaction that comes from the ripping of warm bodies to bloody shreds.  And who knows when that need gets satiated."

"We can't kill them." Scott said immediately and Derek sighed, turning to him. "What if we can't catch 'em?"

"Then maybe we just need to contain them. There's no one in the school at night, is there?" Chris asked, turning to the teens. Will's brows rose at his words, catching onto his plan. "You want to trap them inside?"

Chris looked to Will, nodding his head. "If there's somewhere with a strong enough door, no windows or access to the outside."

Stephanie straightened up, shifting her weight between her feet. "What about the boiler room? It's just one big steel door."

Chris turned to her with a determined face, slightly squinting. "You're sure the school's empty?" Stephanie shrugged, looking at Chris defensively. "It has to be. There can't be anyone there this late, right?"

...

Once the six got to the school. Chris dug into his trunk, pulling out a bag of metal sticks. "These are ultrasonic emitters. It's one of the tools we use to corral werewolves, pushing them into a direction we want them to run." He quickly turned them on and Stephanie instantly noticed the three werewolves gripping the sides of their heads in pain.

"Gives off a high-pitched frequency that only they can hear." Chris explained, making Isaac groan. "God, no kidding!"

Chris turned to the three, smirking slightly before turning them off. Once they were back to normal, Derek grabbed an emitter. "These are gonna drive them to the school?"

"And then it's up to you to get them into the basement." Chris said, nodding. Isaac sighed, looking around the group. "Does anyone else want to rethink the plan where we just, uh, kill 'em?"

Stephanie turned to him glaring, making Isaac put his hands up in surrender, kissing her temple. Stephanie's glare turned into a smile as she looked up at him. "It's going to work."

Scott nodded with her, looking around the group and setting his eyes on Derek. "It'll work."

...

"The red doors, someone has to get them open. Someone has to drive them inside." Scott said, hearing Cora and Boyd's roars from the other side of the school. Chris nodded, reloading his gun. "I'll go."

Will stuck his arm out, shaking his head. "No. We got it."

The three went running towards the doors to find Cora and Boyd stopped just before they could get in by arrows. The three looked up and saw Allison shooting at them from the top of a school bus.

Stephanie looked back and forth between Allison and Cora and Boyd before realizing the two werewolves were standing just in front of the doors.

With one flick of her wrist, she threw Cora and Boyd into the school, closing the door after them. She kept her hands out to make sure the doors stayed closed. Isaac ran to the doors, locking it and once she was sure the door was locked, Stephanie dropped her arms tiredly, she looked back around for Allison but she was already gone.

"You guys saw her too, right?" Stephanie whispered and both boys immediately nodded their heads, mumbling variations of 'yes'.

Suddenly, everything in Stephanie's vision turned purple. She froze, not being able to move her body just like the night Lydia ran from the hospital but this time, her body wasn't walking towards anybody or going anywhere, she stayed still.

Will let out a breath of air, turning to Isaac and Stephanie, his eyes immediately going wide at the sight of his sister. "Steph... Your eyes..."

Isaac whipped his head to Stephanie, noticing her eyes shining a bright purple as she stared mindlessly at the school doors.

Stephanie took a deep breath, almost a gasp and her eyes were back to their normal brown. She looked back and forth between the two boys with wide eyes. "Derek."

The three ran into the school, Will sticking his hands out to stop Isaac and Stephanie. When the two beside him stopped, he slowly looked out the windows. "The sun's coming up."

Isaac's eyes went wide before he went running tot the boiler room, Stephanie and Will after him. "Scott! The sun's coming up!"

When they got to the stairway of the boiler room, they barely missed Scott going in. Stephanie didn't hesitate to run after him. Will and Isaac looked at her with wide eyes, looking to each other before running after her.

Stephanie skidded to a stop beside Scott, Will and Isaac doing the same as they watched a bloody Derek barely keeping himself up beside the unconscious Cora and Boyd. "There's a teacher. I'll take care of her. Get them out of here." Derek whispered.

...

"So Boyd and Cora might not have killed anyone?" Stephanie asked, turning to Stiles as they, Will and Scott stood in the morgue of the hospital.

Stiles ran a hand down his face, sighing. "You're gonna wish they did." Will's brows furrowed, leaning up against the table. "Why?"

Stiles sighed. "I'm not exactly sure yet. The other girl who was out in the woods, Emily? Eventually they're gonna find her. She's one of them. Emily, Heather... That guy Lydia found at the pool. All three were virgins... And they're all gonna have the same three injuries... Strangled, throat slashed, head bashed in. It's called the threefold death."

Scott looked back and forth between Heaters body and Stiles, his face contorted into confusion. "So if these aren't random killings, then what are they?"

Stiles sighed, looking up to the three. "Sacrifices. Human sacrifices."
