Chapter 3: Lockwood's American Nightmare

"Oh look, it's the loser ghost hunters; I'm surprised you're actually here", Quill Kipps said smugly.

Lucy rolled her eyes. "Oh, shut up, Kipps, your insults are getting really boring now; I'm surprised you haven't got any new material", she said, smirking.

George stifled a laugh, silently cheering Lucy on as Quipp's smug smile vanished instantly. "Oh, shut up, Carlyle"

But Lockwood?

Lockwood couldn't care less; he just looked bored and scrolled through social media on his phone.

"Anthony? Anything to add, or are you speechless?" Inspector Barnes said, smirking.

Lockwood looked up bored from his phone.

"What? Oh yeah...I really couldn't care less about what you two think," He said in his American accent.

Everyone froze.

"Lockwood?"

"Ugh, what now?"

"What happened to your accent?"

Lockwood rolled his eyes, not bothering to answer, already looking done with everyone.

George then spoke, "Well, you see, we were on a case and something 'possessed' Lockwood, he got knocked out, and then he woke up speaking like an American."

Kipps and Barnes looked at each other confused.

"How the hell can something change a person's accent?"

"No clue, but we're worried about him"

Lockwood sighed, "Can we just get this over with? I'd rather be watching Netflix right now," He said plainly.

The case began fairly simply: remove a poltergeist family from a fancy mansion.

Lockwood, however, did his job, but he just looked bored and unfazed.
