the cafe was buzzing with the usual midday energy, a perfect escape from the craziness of their set from the day. rhea, natalia, joe, charlie, and even dacre were settled into a cozy corner booth, each of them nursing a drink as they relaxed.

"so, how'd filming go today?" dacre asked with a playful smile, lounging back in his seat.

joe shrugged, taking a bite out of him toast. "maya kept fucking up the same line we had to do the scene so many times because she couldn't say rectangle." this earned a laugh from the group.

"i'm so sad maya couldn't come eat with us," rhea spoke in between sips of her coffee. "she's so busy all the time i'm just like, girl, please don't forget about us."

natalia nodded, instinctively leaning towards charlie in her seat who responded by putting an arm around her shoulders. "i think she said she was gonna take a nap though. she said she'll join us when she wakes up if we're still here."

"let's drag this lunch on an extra hour then," dacre grinned before shoving an orange slice into his mouth.

"nuh-uh, i still have two more scenes with millie and sadie, i'm not staying past five today," rhea shook her head at dacre whos teeth were covered in orange peel. as she was about to continue her phone buzzed loudly on the table. she picked it up, glanced at it, and groaned. a second later, it buzzed again. then again, and again. notifications were flooding in.

"seriously?" rhea muttered, scrolling through the messages. "why is everyone freaking out about this?"

the phone buzzed yet again, this time with a loud ping from an incoming message from travis. she glanced up at the group, exasperated. "so i liked drew's post and now the internet is acting like i'm their worst enemy? what is this, 2006? this is so parasocial i can't."

"you know what makes it even funnier?" natalia started, leaning forward, "is that the wave to drew at the premiere was literally to daniel as well. why aren't they shipping you with daniel?"

charlie laughed at this, his arm still resting on the back of natalia's chair. "isn't it cause someone responded to the wrong tweet? this is just being dragged now."

"ridiculous," rhea muttered, shaking her head. "i can't tell if people are joking or if they're being serious because this is crazy... oh great," rhea said dryly, her phone buzzing again with more notifications. she put it face down on the table in frustration, but it vibrated even more intensely. "just what i need. another reddit thread analysing my every move."

joe was the first to move, picking up the phone in one swift motion. "i can't believe you have reddit, rhea, do you read r slash am i the asshole stories every night?" rhea rolled her eyes as the group laughed.

"no i read r slash joe keery is the worst, give me that back," she reached for her phone but joe leaned backwards, losing balance in his chair, dacre was quick to save his friend from falling backward though the coffee in front of him didn't survive.

there was a crash of china followed by a river of warm, brown liquid travelling across their table, sticking to the bottom of their plates and soaking in their napkins.

rhea gasped, her hand flying to her mouth in disbelief. "oh my god, dacre, your coffee."

"joe!" dacre exclaimed, not even trying to hide his laughter. "you almost died."

rhea leaned forward to assess the damage, then immediately grimaced. "no! my sourdough!" she cried, her voice high-pitched with dramatic distress. "i was just about to take a perfect bite!"

the group burst into laughter, even as joe scrambled to grab napkins, his face a mix of embarrassment and amusement. "aww no, your sourdough, what about your drew starkey fan club? how 'bout them apples?"

"you're lucky we're still laughing, joe," rhea shot back, reaching for her phone, which had somehow landed under charlie's plate. "i'll get you back one day."
