alright, so i don't know if everyone's forgotten, but i'm here to remind you about how all of this mess started. people are acting like drew starkey and rhea delgado are some perfect couple out of nowhere, but can we be real for a minute? it was never about them being this iconic pairing. it was about looks. plain and simple.

looks?
let's start with drew. yeah, he's got the tall, brooding "mysterious" vibe going on, but let's be honest, he's basically just the generic "pretty guy" type. like, yeah, he's got the scruffy look and those eyes, but can someone explain why everyone thinks he's some kind of god? is it just the outer banks fame or what? because personally, i think he's pretty overrated.

then we have rhea delgado, who everyone seems to forget was just "pretty" before she started speaking out for causes, which honestly feels like a trying-too-hard move. like yeah, i guess she looks good, but do we really need to act like she's on a different level than everyone else? sorry, but her whole serious activist thing is a bit overplayed.

careers?
now, let's talk about careers. drew's riding high off of outer banks, and sure, he's getting recognition, but do we forget he's basically just playing a rich, white guy? like, is it really that impressive? i get it, he's playing a character people love, but come on, he's hardly pushing any boundaries in the acting world.

and rhea? okay, sure, she's everywhere, but can we stop pretending like being an influencer/actor is this groundbreaking thing? like, she's a "celebrity" for posting Instagram photos and speaking on causes, but let's not act like it's all that impressive. she's still pretty basic in the grand scheme of things. honestly, her big "co-hosting" gig at the starlight soirée isn't gonna make anyone forget that she's not doing anything particularly remarkable either.

personalities?
personality-wise, both of them are equally boring. drew's all "oh, i'm too cool for this" and constantly comes off like he's just too chill to care about anything. we get it, bro. you don't care. but that's actually just laziness, not charm. and rhea? she's like, trying so hard to be cool and relatable but it's just so ugh she's just another actress who's all "look at me, I'm funny and deep." sorry, not buying it.

the comparison
at the end of the day, it's like everyone forgot how all of this started their "chemistry" was based on surface-level looks, and now people are trying to elevate them like they're some dream team. and by the way they literally have never talked you guys are delusional. let's just call it like it is: two overrated, good-looking people in the spotlight.

so please, can we stop pretending these two are some power couple? they're just two regular people caught up in the drama of their respective fanbases, trying to stay relevant.

REAL LIFE

rhea cleared her throat dramatically, her eyes glinting with playful mischief. "ladies and gentlemen, please hold your applause until after we announce the auction item. but, knowing all of you, i'm sure you'll manage to hold it in. very fashionably, of course," she said, drawing out the last word with a flourish.

joe shot her a knowing look, his lips curling into a smirk. "don't worry, rhea," he said, with a seriousness that was obviously fake. "i've been practising my best 'high-society' face. it's all in the eyebrows."

rhea couldn't help but laugh, shaking her head. "please, don't overdo it. we don't need you looking like you just walked off the stranger things set and onto a red carpet."

the two exchanged a quick, effortless laugh, their rhythm seamless as they slipped into the next part of their rehearsal. their lines flowed naturally, like they were just having a casual conversation instead of working through scripted dialogue.

once they finished, they stepped off the stage, and as their feet hit the ground, they were met with soft applause from the other hosts below.

"you two make it look easy," madelyn called up, clapping slowly with a teasing grin on her face. her eyes were sparkling with amusement, clearly impressed by how effortlessly they'd pulled it off.

joe, not missing a beat, shot her a grin. "it's only cause i'm so drunk right now."

madelyn laughed, her hands still clapping as she nudged rhea's shoulder. "i can't wait to see this whole thing in front of an actual crowd. you two are gonna be too good."

rhea's heart fluttered at the thought, the excitement bubbling up in her chest again. "same here," she said, glancing over at joe. "but i might need a drink to get through the real thing."

"nah," timothée, who had been standing off to the side with his arms crossed, chimed in, giving them a quick thumbs-up. "you guys were so good. no drinks needed."

rhea's eyes lit up at the compliment. "thanks, timmy tim!" she teased, grinning at him.

timothée groaned in mock exasperation, shaking his head as he rolled his eyes. "oh god, you're killing me, rhea."

madelyn leaned in closer to rhea, a playful, mischievous gleam dancing in her eyes. "so, do you think whoever's sitting next to you would swap with me?" she asked.

rhea raised an eyebrow and smirked, the wheels turning in her head. "maybe. we'll see how the night goes." her voice was playful. it had only been a few hours of rehearsal, but rhea felt like they'd been friends for much longer. there was something so natural about their chemistry.

just as the laughter died down, the sound of footsteps drew rhea's attention. chase strolled over, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips as his eyes flicked between rhea and madelyn.

"what's going on here?" he asked, raising an eyebrow with a teasing gleam in his eyes. "are you two besties now or something?"

madelyn flashed a playful grin, tossing her hair back dramatically. "obviously. i might ask if i can switch out and do my part with rhea instead of you, chase."

but instead of laughing along with them, chase seemed distracted, his gaze flickering back and forth between the two women with an expression that was part joke, part something a little more serious.

rhea picked up on it immediately, raising her eyebrows in mock suspicion. "oh my god, what?" she asked, her voice dripping with amusement. "please, please don't make me hear about the drew shit right now."

chase shrugged nonchalantly, but his grin never wavered. "i swear it's not that," he said with fake innocence.

rhea turned to madelyn, her face a picture of exaggerated heartbreak. "madelyn, you're breaking my heart!" she said dramatically, clutching her chest like she was about to faint.

madelyn rolled her eyes, though the grin on her face widened, and she couldn't help but play along. "don't worry about it, rhea. chase is just some dude."

"some dude?" chase scoffed, putting a hand to his chest with exaggerated offense. "i'm actually hurt."

before anyone could continue, zendaya, who had been standing a few paces away with her arms crossed, stepped in with a playful yet commanding tone.

"okay, okay, guys," she said, shaking her head in amusement. "not too much on chase. he stuttered so much during his speech tonight, let him rest."

"pfft, guys i'm about to leave, i swear," chase covered his face with his hands in shame.

at that, everyone burst into laughter, and even chase couldn't help but crack a smile, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.
