Chapter 30 : The YoonYul Combination
Junsu soaked his white towel on a basin of water and ice and then he put it on his tired eyes. He sighed.
He was exhausted. His investigation was stuck. He thought if he stayed in the Central would make him a lot closer to Potentials but after a while, he only
had one encounter, plus he screwed that one up.
His mind wandered back to his old days, back when he was oblivious of the organization, the day when he was in love.
He met what he thought was his destined one. The beautiful tree months.
One night he was coming back home from the jewellery store, with a diamond ring in his pocket, he confidently walked home. He recited his proposal
words over and over again, making sure he won't stumble on words when he actually says it.
He stopped in front of his door and felt his heart racing. Slowly, he opened the door and all the good memories turned terrifying. His family was
slaughtered all over the room with one girl standing in the middle.
Junsu lifted the cold towel and threw it back into the basin, cursing.
Someone knocked on his door.
"Yes."
A guy peeked in, "your pick up car is here, Sir."
Junsu smiled. He walked out of his office with only mission folders in his hands.
"Man, what a spoiled brat you are."
Junsu looked around and found Seunghyun.
"Excuse me?" Junsu walked closer.
"None of my agents here need babysitter with stroller to take them home."
"None of your agents here deserve a stroller," Junsu retorted before he turned away and leave.
"I'm happy you're out of here, Junsu. Just so you know," Seunghyun said.
"I'll be back, Seunghyun, with more than just folders in my hand. I'll bring you the heads of Potentials."
Seunghyun smiled.
Seunhyun watched Junsu's disappear before he walked in to his office. He looked around.
What a plain office he said. Junsu didn't use much of the office. Seunghyun circled Junsu's desk and he found nothing. Not even a pen.
Seunghyun nodded. Junsu knew well what he's after.

Yuri's head was aching so bad. She was moving, not walking, she was flying. Then her body shook like it hit a bump on the ground.
Yuri was on some kind of a gurney and someone was pushing her. She sat up and had her lightning ready when Yoona pushed her.
"Don't move!" she hissed.
"What the hell!? Did you just hit me?" Yuri was furious, "I knew it, I knew I couldn't trust you, Princess!"
"I did, sorry. But I had to do that to get us in," Yoona whispered.
"We're in?" Yuri looked around. The interior was somewhat pretty. Blue rug and the soft paint on the wall, the long corridors with long calming blue neon
lights, "oh, we are inside."
"But you didn't have to hit me!" Yuri hissed.
"I need to make it real."
"At least talk it over with me first."
Yoona pushed the gurney along a corridor with blue rug.
"How do you know this is the right way?" Yuri asked.
"I asked. I showed my badge and and with your body I asked to transfer you, a Gifted to wherever you're supposed to be? put."
"So?"
"So the officer told me to go to the containment room which is this way," Yoona confidently explained.
"Okay, whatever--crap! An officer!" Yuri lied back instantly, not moving.
Yoona stopped the gurney in front of an electric white door guarded by an armed officer.
"Anything I can help, Miss?" he asked.
"I'm here to deliver this Gifted," Yoona tried her best not to stutter, "I'm from the central."
"Central? I didn't hear anything about you," the guy examined Yoona with his eyes, top to bottom, "hold on a second," the officer reached a phone on
the wall.
"No! You don't have to call anyone, I have my clearance," Yoona stopped the officer.
The officer paused and once again, he looked at Yoona suspiciously, "just wait," he said.
Suddenly the officer got electrocuted and crumbled to the floor.
"What the!?"
Yuri sat up. She just sent a few hundred volts of electricity to the officer from his thigh.
"It's taking too long," Yuri said.
Yoona sighed and rolled her eyes.
Yuri jumped down the gurney and examined the electric door. "It locked with a card. Check if that guy has a card key."
Yoona rummaged inside the downed officer's pocket. "Oh, here."
Yoona swiped the card to the lock and the door opened.
Behind the door was a research room with a few of busy scientist, all dressed in white long coats. In the end of the room was a sturdy looking iron door.
"Hm, I think we go to the wrong room. This is not the containment room," Yoona was about to turn back when Yuri stopped her.
"Wait," Yuri turned serious, "I remember this place."
Yuri walked inside the research room, Yoona was behind her.
"Hey, who are you!?" a scientist shouted.
"No, no, don't worry. I'm just looking around," she said.
A scientist screamed in horror, "oh my God, they killed the officer!"
"No, no! We didn't kill him we just made him unconscious, that's all!" Yoona explained. But she was too late, the scientist had pushed the alarm button.
The whole building screamed.
"Damn it! I wish you hadn't done that," Yuri threw a lightning to the scientist.
**
"What happened?" Junsu was on his knees, crying.
In front of him was his dead mother's body.
"What happened?" Jusnu roared to the girl standing in the middle of the chaos.
"What did you do?"
"I'm finally free, I guess I got too excited."
Junsu snapped his eyes open. He fell asleep.
"Go faster," he said to his driver.
"Sir."
**
The scientists ran around scared when they saw Yuri attacked their friend.
"That was unnecessary!" Yoona scolded her.
"Look at the bright side, they're leaving!" Yuri shouted between the sound of alarm and the screaming scientist.
Yoona looked around. There were computers everywhere and a lot of papers which she didn't understand.
"Where do we start?" she asked.
"How should I know? Just make it quick!" Yuri was looking at a small monitor in the middle of the room.
The monitor was displaying names.
Lee Shiyeon
Kim Taeyeon
Jung Jessica
"Yoona, Yoona! What is this?"
Yoona came closer. "It's the names of Potentials."
"There are only three in Korea?"
"In the world. We haven't found any other cases in the world except for these three," Yoona explained.
Yuri nodded. She looked around the computer and stumbled upon a folder with Potential tag on it. Yuri opened the page and took a glance on the file.
Her eyes went larger when she read it.
"Jessica?" she muttered.
"I found something," Yoona found some report papers.
"What?"
Yoona read the reports. It was explaining about the progress of some formula.
"See? See, Yuri? They're making cure for the Gifted!" Yoona smiled.
"What does it says?" Yuri still concentrated on the file.
"It says that they are doing research on the brain and spine to find the enzyme to counter the Crhysalis production in body and cure them. I told you
we're doing the right thing," Yoona's face lightened up, "I was right all along."
"With the brain and the spine examined, we successfully found where the Chrysalis is produced but as a side effect it caused?," Yoona paused, "it
caused 96% of fatalities."
Yuri turned to Yoona and found her shaken up.
"96 percents?" Yoona repeated herself.
The electrocuted scientist grunted and tried to get back on his feet.
"You!" Yoona threw away the report in her hand and walked amazingly fast to the scared guy.
"Don't hurt me! Please!" he begged.
Yuri tore a paper from the file and shoved it in her pocket, "Yoona! Calm down!"
Yoona grabbed him on his collar and lifted him, "is that true?"
"What is true?"
"That the research on the Gifted caused 96% fatalities?" Yoona asked.
The scientist mumbled.
"Answer me!"
"Yes! Yes! It killed them!" the scientist cried.
"And the rest four?" Yuri asked too.
"We had to put them too sleep," he stuttered.
"What do you mean put them to sleep?"
"They could be dangerous so we had to put them to sleep."
"You killed them!?"
"Yes! Yes! Please just let me go!" the scientist wet himself as Yoona let him go. He ran as quickly as his feet can take him.
Yoona walked to the end of the room and blasted the iron door with her lightning. She gasped.
"Yuri?," Yoona called her, "you're right," Yoona's eyes went blurry with tears.
Inside the room were beds and on top of the beds were people covered in white clothes. Their back was cut open, showing their spine and Yoona knew,
those people weren't breathing anymore.
Yoona walked deeper and discovered people with their heads split open, exposing their brains.
"What the hell did they do?" she whispered.
Yuri felt like she was about to throw up. Her memories came rushing back.
"Oh, my God!" Yoona ran to the end of the room. "What have I done?"
Yuri heard footsteps from afar.
"Yoona, the agents are coming! We need to go, now!"
"No."
"What do you mean no? Come on!"
"No, I have to fix this," Yoona clenched her teeth and her body shone blue.

"What happened?" Junsu was on his knees, crying.
In front of him was his dead mother's body.
"What happened?" Junsu roared to the girl standing in the middle of the chaos.
"What did you do?"
"I'm finally free, I guess I got too excited."
"Free? What's going on, Shiyeon?"
"Shiyeon? No, no. She's no longer around. You can call me Gaea, Darling."
"Sir?"
"Yes?"
"Something happened at the facility."
