Chapter 9 : The Morning After
Seohyun opened her eyes and found herself was lying down on her bed, surrounded by her Keroro dolls. She was at home.
"That's why I'm sorry," a voice spoke.
Seohyun turned to her side. Yoona was sitting on a chair beside her bed. "Unnie?"
"Hyunnie!?" Yoona fell from her chair.
"What were you apologizing for?"
"Nothing! You were not supposed to hear that!"
Seohyun rubbed her eyes, "I didn't, I only caught the last part."
Yoona sighed and stood back up. She grazed Seohyun's hair, "I'm glad you're okay."
Seohyun mind wandered to the orphanage. "How did I get home?"
"Your parents brought you home. I came here as soon as I can."
"How is Mother? And the children?" Seohyun sat up.
"They're fine," Yoona leaned to her chair.
"They're still there!? What if those people come back?" Seohyun raised her tone.
Yoona shook her head, "don't worry. They won't be back. Besides the police already at the orphanage"
Yoona took a deep breath and walked to the door, "rest a bit more, I'm gonna call your parents."
Seohyun watched Yoona watched Yoona disappear behind the door. Last night was like a dream, but instead of waking up, she was stuck in it. Those
chaos, blue lights and gunfire. Seohyun could even hear the screams of the children, and of course, Jessica.
It was always like this. One time, Seohyun was playing with Jessica near the river bank and Seohyun fell to the river, almost drowned. Jessica jumped
in to save her in time and when they got back to the orphanage all wet and muddy, Mother scolded them. Seohyun was crying and seeing that Jessica
took the blame, saying it was all her fault.
When Seohyun fell off the big oak tree, Jessica also took the blame. When Jessica got a new bicycle she gave it to Seohyun just because she was envy.
Jessica always put others before her. This time was too much. She went along with a girl she didn't know to save the whole orphanage.
Seohyun closed her eyes and prayed, "Unnie."

"I told you not to go trigger happy, didn't I?" he asked.
Hyoyeon stayed quiet.
"Didn't I!?" Seunghyun screamed at Hyoyeon, so close to her face. Hyoyeon felt like throwing up at his warm breath.
"Kim Taeyeon and Kwon Yuri were there. My agents had to use live ammo," Hyoyeon suppressed her anger.
"And destroying the orphanage? Scaring the children!? What should we say if its get out to the public!? A government organization raids a civilian facility
over what? You have nothing!"
Hyoyeon gritted her teeth, "she was there! Jung Jessica was there! The Potential! Besides, isn't keeping everything under wraps is what this organization
is all about?"
Seunghyun swung his arm in the air, "I don't care! We can't afford this, Hyoyeon!"
Hyoyeon knew the operation went bad. But Seunghyun should know better that when they deal with Kim Taeyeon and Kwon Yuri, everything always
went wrong.
"Those two fugitives couldn't be an excuse, Hyo."
Seunghyun's glared at Hyoyeon.
"We need to fix this. Understand?"
Hyoyeon sighed.
"And you say she's a Potential? It's a huge thing to jump to that conclusion," Seunghyun leaned to his chair, relaxing his tense nerves.
"My theory? The day she got stabbed? half of the city blacked out for two minutes."
"Coincidence?"
"The burned man... Gifteds burn people with thunder, right? Thunders leave marks. Jung Jessica burned the guy without leaving any marks."
"She's careful?"
"She did that unconsciously," Seunghyun raised his hand to stop Hyoyeon.
"Again, you're talking like you knew it by your instinct."
"I'm only telling you my theory."
"Fine. Just catch that Potential and you can do whatever you want after that."
Hyoyeon walked out of Seunghyun's office in rage. Sunny was at the lobby, waiting for her.
"Was it as we thought it would be?" she asked.
"Yeah, he didn't listen to me, that for sure." Hyoyeon took a seat. "You're with me, right? You think we should go after Taeyeon and Yuri first, right?"
Sunny nodded, "yes."
Hyoyeon noticed a rose bouquet on the small coffee table in front of her.
"Is it that day already?" Hyoyeon took the bouquet.
"Yeah," Sunny sat down beside her. "It has been eight years."
"You want me to come with you?" Hyoyeon passed the bouquet.
"If you'd like, yes," Sunny smiled.
Hyoyeon nodded and took her car key from her pocket. A tall girl passed them by, eating crepes. She waved at them.
"Maybe we could take that shikshin too," Sunny waved back.

Yuri was playing the grand piano. The sun was high and the light peeked through small cracks on the old theatre roof.
"Morning."
Yuri turned and found Jessica, yawning and rubbing her eyes, but still lying down.
"Oh, sorry. Did I wake you?" Yuri stopped playing.
Jessica shook her head and sat up, a jacket slide down to her lap. "Is this your jacket?"
Yuri nodded.
Jessica looked around the theatre. Although the building was old, it still had its grandeur. The red chairs were elegant and the roof was high. She stood
up and walked to Yuri, returned her jacket and yawned.
"You play piano?" she asked.
"This is the only song I know," Yuri played the piano again.
"How is this thing got here? it's quite new."
"It's old actually. This theatre was belong to an old man but he bankrupted and the loan sharks trashed this place but when they try to harm this piano,
they got scared."
"Why?"
"This thing's haunted."
Jessica took a step behind.
"Just kidding. Here, sit down. I'll teach you."
Yuri scooted from her seat, offering Jessica a space. Jessica hesitated but sat down eventually.
"You will be playing these notes," Yuri put Jessica's fingers on the high notes key, "when I play, you press the key lightly in this order."
Yuri pointed which keys Jessica need to play.
"It's a duet song actually. You ready?"
Jessica smiled and nodded.
"Okay, here we go."
Yuri started playing, Jessica then followed her. The old theatre was filled with music. When they done, Jessica laughed hard.
"Ya, you're scaring me. How did playing piano made you so happy?" Yuri stood up and took a few steps backwards.
"No, no," Jessica was still laughing, "I never really good with anything so? I'm sorry."
Yuri smiled, "this theatre is smiling too, because you play so good."
Jessica laughed even harder. "That is cheap."
Yuri blushed, "fine, let's go, the sun is high."
Jessica nodded and followed Yuri to the entrance they went through yesterday.
"I'm gonna take you to my home, you can sleep on a bed there," Yuri slid through the crack that led to the outside of the theatre building.
Jessica followed her, she stopped laughing.
"Hey, what's wrong? Where did all those laughs go?"
Jessica forced a smile.
"The orphanage?."
Yuri smiled, "we need to lay low for a while, a month or two, to let the organization cool down. After that, I promise I'll take you back there."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Now let's go."
Jessica didn't know what made her follow Yuri. She was a total stranger, a girl that came on a crazy night between gunfights and explosions. Jessica
couldn't say that she saw Yuri in her visions and dreams. Was it that Jessica had no other option or was it that Jessica felt safe with Yuri? Either way, she
trusted her.
She took a last glance to the old theatre, something struck her mind. The theatre, the piano and the song, she knew all of them. She saw them in her
visions. Suddenly everything became so scary for her.

Sooyoung and Hyoyeon stopped at a cemetery gate while Sunny took a hike at a small hill. Up in the hill, were rows of graveyards.
"You know, if I were you I would be stop eating the moment we reached this cemetery," said Hyoyeon to the eating Sooyoung.
"Oh, come on. Coming to the cemetery is like a warning that we need to keep living to eat."
"You mean keep eating to live," Hyoyeon corrected her.
"No, to keep living to eat, eat delicious stuff."
Hyoyeon raised her eyebrow, "stuff?"
"It's not only foods that you can eat, Hyo."
Hyoyeon shook her head, "what are you?"
"Why does Sunny come here every year anyway?" Sooyoung finished her crepes.
"Her whole family buried under here."
Sooyoung opened up a sandwich, "hmm, what's her story?"
Hyoyeon watched the girl bite her sandwich, she smiled, "the story will make you stop eating. Wanna hear?"
