Chap 16

Chapter 16

It was the big day.

Siwon and Tiffany's engagement party.

Tiffany inhaled the stuffy air of her dressing room until it filled her nose before she exhaled back out, watching the mirror in front of her as the hair stylist began to work on her hair.

She wore a long, white strapless gown adorned with real diamond gemstones around the belt area. Siwon had bought the gown for her specially for this event, but it's not as if Tiffany couldn't afford these anyway.

"Honey, how are you?" Siwon asked her, giving her dressing room a couple knocks before he walked in, despite Tiffany's approval or not of his action. He smirked as he saw a grimace on her face.

"What do you want?" Tiffany asked him, glancing over to his stature on her mirror's reflection.

He crossed his arms and leaned back cooly against the door, "Why are you still like that? after today you'll be my fiancée, and soon after, you'll be my wife. Is this the way you should be acting towards your future husband?"

Tiffany glared at him.

"You know I don't love you."

Siwon feigned a sigh, "I don't care, I want you, and I will have you."

"—And why do you want me? there are other actresses out there for you to 'prey' upon on, did you know that?"

He laughed at her remark and unfold his arms, walking over to her.

"Of course I know that, but you, you're special. You're the one that captured my heart at first sight, I'm not going to just let you go." He said, gently stroking her cheek but she smacked his hands away and scoffed incredulously, oh how she just wanted to burst out laughing at his so-believable remark.

"Yes, and this is how you should be treating the one 'that captured your heart at first sight', by threatening her about her father's situation?"

Siwon pursed his lips, as if he was trying to think thoughtfully from what Tiffany had just said. He rubbed his chin and began to speak,

"Hmm, good point. But if I didn't do that, you wouldn't be wearing this gown right now, about to be my fiancée, would you?"

"Hmm, good point. But did you know that I would have fallen in love with you for real if you weren't such a as-hole?"

With that sarcastic retaliation, she left him speechless as he gazed at her through the mirror. His eyes were narrowed down as thoughts flowed through his head—but nothing could come out as those words from Tiffany lingered.

"You know, my first impression of you was good, but you pretty much fu-ked it up after you placed that drug in my drink."

He glowered at her assertion and hastily walked out of the room.

---

Yuri, Yoona and Seohyun went together to the party and had just arrived at the scene. Seohyun was donning a navy blue dress, however, Yuri and Yoona wasn't much of a fan of those fancy evening gowns, so they both donned black pants with suspenders over their white dress shirts with a bow tie around their necks instead. Boyish, yet girlishly classy at the same time as they both had their hair down, and with a glance from far away, people would think that they were twins.

They walked over to the entrance and was checked off the guest list before making their way into the ball room-like place. Yuri could recognize some of the stars who were chattering amongst themselves, having fun; it was a star-studded guest list indeed, after all, Tiffany was a A-list actress in the country.

A few moments later, Jessica and Jay arrived at the location and Yuri couldn't help but lay her eyes on Jessica as she walked through the entrance, the girl was wearing a strapless teal evening gown that perfectly hugged her slim figure, but seeing her with Jay, she quickly shifted her eyes away as they both approached closer to her and the others.

"Ah, you arrived."

"We just got here just a few moments ago." Yuri replied.

"Unnie, you look so pretty!" Seohyun told Jessica. She walked over to her and gave her a hug.

Jessica smiled, "You look pretty too. Did you choose this dress yourself?"

Seohyun's cheeks became rosy when Yoona answered the question for her, "I did." Yoona said, raising her hand. She was proud of helping Seohyun choose this dress as the younger girl didn't want to wear it in the first place, all of Yoona's pleading of how well she matched the dress worked.

"You two look like twins." Jay remarked, pointing at Yuri and Yoona.

"Thanks, we heard it at least 3 times today." Yuri picked up a glass of martini at the table and took a small sip from the glass.

Jessica became aware of the accessory Yuri was donning and smiled, it was the bow-tie she had bought for Yuri on her birthday when they were still together, and knowing that Yuri had still kept it after those 2 long years made her happy. But that wasn't the only thing that she was aware of, she'd never thought Yuri would look so handsome in the outfit she was wearing.

"So.. is Tiffany out yet?" Jay asked. He picked up a glass of martini from the table beside Yuri and took a look around.

"Oh, you guys are here already?" Sunny asked as she walked up to them, "—And to answer your question, Tiffany is still in the dressing room."

"She's still getting ready?" Jay asked once again.

Sunny nodded, "She's putting on some makeup by herself right now since the makeup artist had to go home due to a emergency, say Yuri, maybe you should go and check up on her." she suggested and Yuri nodded without a hesitation.

"I'll back then. You guys have fun for now without me." She laid down the glass of martini on the table and proceeded to make way into the fancy narrow hallway until she reached the end of it and saw a door leading into a room. It must be Tiffany's dressing room.

She slightly opened the door to take a peak inside and once she saw that it was the correct room, she yanked the door open and walked in.

Tiffany turned around slightly at the sudden noise.

"Oh, you're here now?" She said, not looking at Yuri.

"Where were you yesterday? I waited for you." Yuri said in an angry tone, she was pretending to be mad, but in fact she had long forgiven Tiffany about it even though the girl caused her to have the sniffles all night for standing out in the cold.

Tiffany finally turned around to face Yuri, "Did you really wait for me?"

"Yeah I did. I waited 'till night and you didn't come." Yuri said, still keeping her angry tone as she inserted a small white lie into her statement, sure she didn't wait 'till night, but she waited long enough for the girl to appear; and the girl didn't. Tiffany felt her heart tug upon the lie Yuri threw at her. She didn't know why, but it did.

"Oh..that's all I needed to know." She tried to remain as nonchalant as possible when she turned around to face the mirror again and continued to apply the mascara to her eye lashes, trying to ignore Yuri or act as if she doesn't care if Yuri waited for her or not.

"..Wait did you come?" Yuri asked her. She felt something was wrong with the way Tiffany was replying to her. Her tone was different than usual as usually Tiffany would be making snide remarks against her such as 'haha, your fault for waiting for me' or 'no one told you to wait for me'.

She expected those, yet she didn't receive any.

"No I didn't."

Yuri uneasily rubbed the back of her neck, "Actually.." she started, a bit hesitant to reveal the truth but she felt guilty concealing it, plus, it was nothing to conceal about right?

"Actually..I didn't wait. I went to the movies with Jessica—"

"—You don't have to explain." Tiffany stated, interrupting Yuri mid-sentence.

Yuri immediately felt regretful of revealing the truth, she had a feeling Tiffany did in fact came to the park.

"You did come didn't you?"

"No I didn't." Tiffany stubbornly replied.

"I'm sorry."

"There's nothing to be sorry about, I didn't come."

Yuri was about to reply but then someone walked in and interrupted her,

"Baby, It's time to go out and officially start the party."

It was that douche-bag by the name of Choi Siwon. They both glared at each other as Siwon stepped into the room and approached Tiffany, wrapping his arms around the girl's waist but Tiffany did nothing to avoid his touch, truthfully, she did want him to be intimate with her at this very moment; in front of Yuri.

"Aren't you the girl I saw at that Jason Mraz concert with Tiffany?" He asked her, pulling Tiffany closer to him.

"Yeah, I'm that girl, is there a problem?"

Tiffany could feel the tension between them as they both glowered at each other straight in the eye. Siwon laughed, breaking that visible tension, "No, no problem at all. Thanks for attending our engagement party today, I can see that you are a good friend of Tiffany's."

"We're not that close." Tiffany corrected.

"Well, then, nice to meet you anyway. I don't think I have introduced myself to you yet, my name is Choi Siwon." He extended a hand.

"Kwon Yuri." Yuri told him but made no effort to try to shake his hand.

"I see," Siwon smiled, playing it cool before he retracted his hand, "So I guess we should be out starting the party now. Please, go and have fun, enjoy the food."

"I will have fun, thanks. Congratulations to you two." Yuri said, her eyes was met with Tiffany's as she said that, but Tiffany quickly diverted her eyes. Yuri just smiled at the two as she turned around and headed out of the room, that was when Tiffany finally smacked his hands of her waist and tried to head out of the room as well but Siwon quickly ran in front of her and blocked the door.

"Were you using me just then to try to make her jealous?"

Tiffany let out a incredulous laugh.

"Where did that idea from?"

"You didn't smack my hands immediately away from you when she was here."

"That's called faking-it-so-she-doesn't-know-that-we-don't-love-each-other." Tiffany answered to his 'concerns', but she and her heart both knew that the excuse she gave him was completely false.

---

Siwon held Tiffany's hands for show as they both walked up to the stage and he picked up a microphone from the staff that was holding it out to him.

"Ah ah 1,2,3 testing." He said, letting out of Tiffany's hands as he tapped into the mic. Everyone knew it was working when a loud screech almost deafened the guests.

"Welcome to our engagement party!" Siwon started and was met with claps from the audience.

Yuri and Yoona glowered at him as he continued on,

"Tonight, I am the luckiest guy in Korea. Who would thought that THE Tiffany Hwang standing beside me right here will become my wife soon? This party I threw was just to let you all know that me and Tiffany are now engaged!"

Tiffany faked a smiled when the spotlight was shined on her.

"THE Tiffany Hwang who is Korea's little sister is so famous that even Yoon Eun Hye lost a role to her in the Korean-Egyptian Princess."

Yoona palmed her face, "Oh my God, he did not just diss Yoon Eun Hye."

"Just kill me now." Tiffany mumbled to herself as Siwon just bought all the unwanted attention to herself.

"Anyway, just know that I am a happy man. Is there anything the other main star of the night would like to say?" He asked Tiffany as he brought over the mic to her.

"No."

Siwon scowled at her blunt answer and let out a embarrassed laugher as he faced the guests, "I hope you congratulate us and please enjoy the small party. For now, I shall ask Tiffany for this dance."

The guests clapped their hands as Siwon walked over to Tiffany and extended his hand, "May I?"

"No." Tiffany answered bluntly, causing Siwon's face to bile up in redness, "I don't know how to dance."

"How about a kiss then?" He suggested, as he knew she had no other excuses to turn this down.

Everyone started to yell out 'KISS! KISS!' except for the trio namely Yuri, Yoona and Sunny who very much knew what kind of person Siwon was and as much as they wanted to slap him right now if laid his hands (in this case; lips) onto Tiffany, they couldn't and it was bothering the hell out of them.

Without asking her any further, he leaned and planted a kiss on her cheek, cheers and claps erupted from the celebrity guests, congratulating the couple except the trio of course.

"It'll be great if you are submissive like this in bed on our wedding night." He breathed against her ear as he slowly pulled away.

"You wish that there will be a 'wedding night'" She hoarsely whispered.

He just gave out a small laughter as he left her at the spot and proceeded to go out and greet the A-list celebrities that he had invited.

"We have some unfinished business to deal with." Yuri said to Tiffany when she walked up to her, Tiffany gasped in shock when Yuri pulled her arms—although it's not much of a shock for her any more seeing how Yuri often does this out of habit.

---

"Let go!" Tiffany demanded as she shook her arm away from Yuri's grasp, "You really like to pull my arms and drag me anywhere as you please don't you?"

"You're always so stubborn that's why." Yuri stated matter-of-factly.

"Well, what do you want?"

"We couldn't finish our conversation before because of Siwon's interruption, well now that we're back here, we're finishing it."

"What else is there to say? I didn't go to the park, why do you keep insisting that I went?"

"Because I know you did! Sunny told me."

Tiffany would usually trust her shorty manager for not revealing her secrets, but the trust issues was now starting to get out of hand—this was the 2nd time Sunny had revealed something Tiffany wanted to hide from Yuri.

"Sh-she lied!" Tiffany stuttered, obviously she was the one that was lying, and Yuri proved her so.

"You're the one that's lying! she told me how you actually went to the park and waited until night for me. She told me how you got the sniffles from a cold after waiting for me in the cold. Why are you denying this?"

"I'm not denying anything!" Tiffany yelled, but she was knowingly contradicting herself.

"You're denying EVERYTHING!"

"FINE FINE FINE!, I went to the park, I waited for YOU until night because YOU told me that YOU would wait for me no matter what but YOU didn't, YOU caused me have the damn sniffles. All thanks to YOU." Tiffany shouted in a fit of anger, tears bursting out. She usually wouldn't cry in front of anyone, but this is the second time she did so in front of Yuri.

Yuri was taken aback from the sudden confession, even if she already knew the truth. Suddenly, she had the urge to hug Tiffany and stop her from crying, and she did, she slowly approached her and wrapped her arms around the girl, pulling her close as she squeezed her gently and slid her hand up and down the latter's bare back. Tiffany tried to restrain against the hug but she grew limp as Yuri held onto her tighter.

"Don't cry, please." Yuri whispered.

"No one ever made me cry except my parents. You caused me to cry two times." Tiffany sniffed, trying to wipe away her tears but Yuri's grip was too tight for her to do so. Their warm bodies were pressed close against each other for what seemed like the longest hug ever—and it was then at this very moment that had Tiffany wondered if what Yoona had told her was true after all.

Why was this tanned jerk making her so confused about her feelings right now? she has a whole lot of complications between her and Siwon that she had still yet to resolve, and here this jerk entered her life and was making her feel a whole 'nother level of complications she had yet to figure out, and she don't know if she will ever be able to figure it out. It just doesn't make sense to her.

"I won't ever try to make you cry again." Yuri stated strongly and the promised was backed up with her hugging Tiffany even tighter.

Jessica was watching the scene unfold in front of her for the past 15 minutes or so and turned around with a grim stern as she left the scene. She could feel a bile of jealousy build up upon her, but she knew there wasn't a reason for her to be jealous. It just doesn't make sense.

---

Siwon smiled as a guy much shorter than him approached him back in the dressing room.

"You didn't tell me that you would be attending this party."

"Tiffany sent me an invitation."

"Did she say anything about me?" Siwon asked.

"That you are an as-hole." The guy replied.

"Amazing, that's what she just said to me earlier today." Siwon laughed, "Welcome back to Korea Jay." He reached out and gave Jay a brotherly hug, it was just all an act about the two hating each other, but in fact, they were buddies since middle school.

"Do you really love her? or what? You know, I was the one that told her to go through with this, you should thank me."

"You know I love her. And, thank you."

"Why did you try to drug her before then? You're my friend, but she's also my friend."

"If you didn't interrupt, she would belong me already."

"Would you think that I'd let my friend, rape my friend?"

"Yes?"

"You are an as-hole." Jay shook his head and left, only to be pulled back by Siwon.

"You'll help me marry her right?"

"I'll think about it."
