Chap 26
Chapter 26
Seohyun was immediately rushed to the hospital and when Hyomin notified Yoona of the accident, her heart felt as if it could explode any moment when she heard the reason for the girl's injury. It was all her fault, it was all her fault that she led Lizzy on. If she didn't, the girl wouldn't be crazed enough to think that Yoona had loved her, and she wouldn't have pushed Seohyun down that stairwell.
But what was done, was done. The damage have already been done, and now Yoona was walking back and forth in front of the operation room as she waited for any good news that she was hoping to hear from the doctor. She was anxious about the outcome, she clasped her hands together and closed her eyes, muttering prayers for the girl.
"Onew called," Hyomin started and Yoona opened her eyes.
"What did he say?"
"The Dean heard what happened to Seohyun, he expelled Lizzy from our college."
"Good. I don't wanna see her face again. I have no words for her after what she have done to Seohyun."
"I know where she lives, I wanna ask some guys to go over there and have some fun with her."
Kimi's eyes opened wide as she overheard their conversation, "'Ask some guys to go over there and have some fun with her?'" she muttered herself, "She don't mean—"
"No," Yoona stated strongly and shook her head,
"Don't ever do that. She did wrong, but you'll be just as guilty if you try to do that to her."
Hyomin sighed, "Fine, I won't then."
"Uhm hey, you guys..." Kimi said and it caused both Hyomin and Yoona to focus their gaze on her.
"What?"
"My class is starting soon and I can't miss it, you'll keep a watch on Seohyun right?" Kimi mumbled out her words. She was still a nervous wreck around the two girls.
Yoona nodded. "Of course, I'll let you know when she wakes up," she assured the girl with a faint smile.
And with that, Kimi was relieved when she left the hospital for her class; but still, Yoona was far from being relieved. She kept walking back and forth, back and forth in that hallway until Hyomin had to stop her because her movements was making her dizzy just by watching.
Just a while later, Yuri and Jessica arrived and still, the ongoing surgery was not yet finished.
"Nothing yet?" Yuri asked with a worried expression on her face, Seohyun was a careful person; there must have been something to have caused her to fall down the stairs.
Yoona bit her lower lip and shook her head, "We're still waiting for the doctor."
"What exactly happened?" Jessica questioned her and Yoona hesitated to answer.
Noticing Yoona's difficulty to answer, Hyomin stepped up and explained in place of her.
"It was this girl name Lizzy, Yoona broke up with her long ago but she's delusional to kept thinking that Yoona still loved her. There was these rumors about Yoona and Seohyun dating, and Lizzy confronted her...and this was the outcome of that confrontation."
"So she pushed Seohyun?" Yuri asked with disbelief, "Doesn't she care about the consequences for doing that?"
"If people cared for consequences, I don't think there would be crime in the world." Jessica shook her head and sighed.
"Did anyone call the cops? She caused Seohyun bodily injury, and I'm not letting her off the hook so easily if something bad happens to my Dongsaeng," Yuri said and Hyomin shook her head.
"No, but the Dean expelled her from our school."
"Oh, my God," Yuri muttered, palming her face with her hands. She was on a verge of a panic attack.
"I promised her parents that I'd take good care of her, and now look what happened!" she said, closing her eyes, clasping her hands together as she held it against her head. All she could do now was just pray for Seohyun's wellbeing; that was all everyone could do at that moment.
"Everything will be okay, Yuri," Jessica said, trying to comfort Yuri with a hand on her shoulder. At the skinship Jessica was initiating, Yoona hovered her eyes over to them. Jay was her fiance and yet Jessica was always around Yuri instead of being with him. Something was definitely fishy to Yoona, and no doubt, Jessica and Yuri were back together again, of course—without Jay's knowledge.
"Just stay here, I want to go out for some fresh air," Yuri told Jessica and took her hands off her shoulder. It was best for her to go out instead of staying inside this stuffy hospital where no news of Seohyun were revealed yet by the doctor. Just staring at the operating light was not helping her situation.
"You don't want me to come with you?" Jessica asked, surprised. Although earlier that morning, Yuri had came to her house while Jay was away to make up with her, she was still not over the fact that Yuri had wholeheartedly left her in order to go to Tiffany.
"I'll be fine by myself..but thanks," Yuri said with a faint smile.
"Actually, I have to go as well," Hyomin started, "Yoona, give me a call when Seohyun is alright!"
---
Tiffany was yet stuck in another recording of Star King as part of her schedules; however, it was break time and she was glad. For some due reason, she felt fatigued today. Maybe due to the loss of sleep as she couldn't sleep much with Yuri on the same bed with her. Not to mention that Yuri woke her up early too, so she could only catch about 4 hours of sleep; her eye bags would be noticeable if it wasn't for makeup.
Every time she thought about Yuri, the thoughts would give her a headache. Never in her life have she questioned herself over 'loving' someone like she did now, over Yuri. Now that she thought about it, it was fated that she and Yuri met. Out of all places, she met Yuri in Egypt while filming her new movie, and she'd never think that she would see Yuri again after that. Then she saw Yuri at her hotel, and because of that camera that she destroyed by accident; it was really the item that had brought her and Yuri together. If it wasn't for that destroyed camera, they wouldn't be friends, and Tiffany wouldn't have fallen in love with Yuri. If only Tiffany could go back in time, she would wish that she'd never destroy that camera, and so she couldn't have been friends with her, and it would save her from all these troubles she was now facing.
But this was the reality now, she has to face the fact that she likes Yuri and maybe what Yoona told her was true. She has to fight for her love? Tiffany had no idea how to do such a thing. By 'fighting' for her love, she was sure what Yoona meant and by that, Yoona was telling her that she should tell Jay about Yuri and Jessica. Tiffany wouldn't do something like that though, she knew that Yuri had always loved Jessica and doing that wouldn't stop Yuri from loving her—it would just be something Tiffany might regret about later. If Yuri is happy, she might as well be happy, or so she thought.
Speaking of the devil, the subject of her ongoing headache was calling her; it was Yuri.
"H-h-hello?" Tiffany stammered when she answered her call.
"What are you doing right now?" Yuri asked on the other line.
"I'm at the recording of Star King, it's break time now. Where are you?"
She could hear Yuri sigh over the phone.
"I'm at the hospital right now.."
Tiffany was surprised the moment she heard what Yuri had told her.
"What happened to you?" she asked with concern.
"No no, not me. Seohyun,"
Tiffany felt relieved for a second, but for another, she was worried again about Seohyun.
"What happened to Seohyun?"
"She was pushed down the stairs after an argument with Yoona's ex-girlfriend or whatever. She's in the operating room now and the doctor haven't told us anything about her current state yet. I'm really worried about her."
"I'm sure she will be okay, Seohyun is a good person and God won't let bad things happen to a good person. Why are you calling me though? Aren't you in the hospital where cell phones aren't permitted?"
"I hope so, and don't worry, I'm outside. I went out for some fresh air alone, Yoona and Jessica are still waiting for the doctor."
"Jessica didn't go with you outside?" Tiffany asked.
"No, why would she go with me outside for?" Yuri asked back, sounding surprised.
"Never mind, I think you should just go back to the hospital and wait for the doctor."
"Can't we just talk for a little bit longer without you trying to hang up?"
"What is there to talk about anyway?"
"Tell me some jokes or something, I'm in a depressing state right now, you should at least try to cheer me up or something as a friend!"
"Okay, fine. Knock knock," Tiffany said. She was trying an attempt of making a joke.
"Hmm, who's there?" Yuri played along.
"Hatch"
"Hatch who?"
"God bless you, do you have a cold?" Tiffany started laughing by herself.
"What the hell? I said funny jokes!"
"But that WAS funny!" Tiffany stopped laughing and tried to retort, "Okay okay, another one. Knock knock,"
Yuri sighed, "Who's there?"
"Phillip."
"Phillip who?"
"PHILLIP MY BAG WITH CANDY!" Tiffany bursted out in a fit of giggles again.
"You suck at jokes, is this suppose to be making laugh?" Yuri asked. Although the jokes weren't necessarily funny, it certainly did uplift her mood a little; partly due to Tiffany's fail sense of humor; it was amusing to Yuri.
"You asked for jokes and I gave you jokes, what did you expect from me?"
"I wouldn't have asked if I knew how much you suck at it!
"Whatever, I'm going now. Recording is starting soon, you entertain yourself by yourself then!"
"Okay, before you go, are you planning to come visit Seohyun later?" Yuri asked quickly.
"If my schedules end early today, I'll come to visit her."
"Come soon then~"
"Bye."
Tiffany hung up and suddenly her headache she was suffering earlier was starting to reappear again. She rubbed her temple until an unlikely person approached her.
---
The red shining light that was situated on top of the operating room finally went off and both Yuri and Yoona was quick to approach the door right away, awaiting the doctor to come out before they bombard him with questions concerning Seohyun's wellbeing.
"Is she okay?"
"How is she? any damages?"
"Did she get a brain trauma?"
They both bombarded with questions and the doctor had to calm them down.
"She is okay, her head landed on the floor first so she suffered a mild traumatic brain injury but since we successfully removed the blood clots, the surgery is successful. She is resting now, and you all should be glad that she's not suffering from a coma, she's very lucky."
"Oh Jesus thank God," Yoona said with a relieved sigh, clasping her hands together.
"Thank you doctor!" she said, bowing to him.
"Can we go in to see her now?" Yuri and Jessica both asked, and the doctor nodded.
"Yes you can, just don't bother her."
---
After a long day full of schedules for the promotion of her movie, Tiffany was really glad that it was all done for today and now she could finally go to the hospital to visit Seohyun. The young girl was her biggest fan after all—of course she hoped nothing would happen to her, not to mention, Seohyun is a Dongsaeng that Yuri had always adored.
She got outside the building with a slight dizziness feeling, she however shook it off and walked up to her car, opening the door before she went inside and slammed it shut. She leaned her head against the seat and closed her eyes. She figured that she'd rest a little before heading off and it was only moments later that a few minutes have already passed and she blinked her eyes open again, the dizziness died down by a little, but it was still there. She clicked on her seat belt and placed her hands on the wheel, changing shift as she reversed out of the parking lot and into the open street.
While waiting for the green light to go on, her phone rang loudly, intensifying that headache she was having and she quickly picked up the call without checking the caller ID; just wishing for the sound to stop.
"Hello?" Tiffany said, holding her phone against her ears.
It was Yuri on the other line and she sounded tremendously happy, "Oh my God, Seohyun is okay! the doctor said that she suffered a mild brain injury but after she rests up and everything, she'll be okay!" Yuri said with full of excitement.
"I'm relieved, I told you that nothing bad happens to good people..I'm heading to the hospital right now," Tiffany said, sounding a bit tired unlike her usual tone of voice and immediately, Yuri knew the difference.
"Are you okay?" Yuri asked, one can sense a tone of worry in her voice.
"Yeah, I'm okay. I'm just feeling a bit lightheaded, I don't know why. I think it must be the pill I took earlier."
"Yah! Are you sure? Pull to a corner if you're not feeling well, I'll come to pick you up!"
"Hey Tiffany,"
"Yes?"
"You complained about a headache earlier right?"
"Yeah, I don't know why. It's like throbbing inside my head."
"Here, have some of this."
"What is this?"
"It's to..uh, prevent your headache. Just take a pill."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure, just take one and swallow up."
"Hwang Tiffany answer me!" Yuri yelled through the phone when Tiffany hadn't answered her yet.
"Wh-what?" Tiffany muttered, her eyes were blurred and she could only faintly see the road, thank God there wasn't many cars around.
"Tiffany listen to me, where are you right now?"
Tiffany squinted her eyes, trying hard to find the street's sign but her vision was blurred. She still tried her best to catch a glimpse of the name.
"I'm..at Nam..dae..munno," She muttered, her speech starting to slur.
"Listen to me Tiffany, pull into a corner and wait for me to come. Did you hear me?"
An upcoming car behind her honked the horn and it startled her, she dropped the cell phone she was holding and stepped on the gas in a state of panic, crashing her car onto a metal pole.
A loud crash was heard before silence came. Yuri stood outside the hospital with her mouth opened wide, shocked over what she just heard. She wished that what she heard wasn't exactly what could have happened, but her wish shattered when a man's voice lingered through the call.
"Miss! Are you okay!?" Yuri heard a man's voice shouting.
"Oh my God, isn't she Tiffany Hwang? Call the ambulance!" a female voice joined in.
"Tif...fany.." Yuri mumbled to herself, still in a state of shock.
