"I'll be back soon. I promise."

Tatum sits on the edge of Davina's bed with her in the attic of the church. "Why do you have to leave at all?" Davina asks and Tatum sighs softly. 

"Marcel just needs me to go take care of something. Check on someone. I'll deal with it as fast as I can, okay? It's just to keep you and New Orleans safe." Tatum says. 

"I'm safer with you here." Davina argues. 

"I promise, I will be back as soon as I can. You know I don't like leaving you. And I don't plan on doing it for very long, Vina." The older of the two says, brushing her sister's hair out of her face. 

"Where are you going?" Davina asks. 

"Well, that depends on where the person I'm checking in on goes." Tatum responds and Davina nods.

"You promise you'll be back soon?" Davina asks and Tatum smiles.

"I promise. I love you, Vina." She says, squeezing her sister's hand. 

"I love you too, Tay." Davina responds before hugging her tight.
