Chapter 15: Hold On
Jack's POV:
I am fighting two nightmare horses. They all seemed stronger than the last time I fought with them. With Y/N's advice about the nightmares, we were winning the battle. At this rate, we could defeat Pitch and find a way to bring back Kyle.
I was so focused on fighting my enemies at the front that I didn't notice another creep up behind me.
"Jack! Watch out!" I heard 'The Lantern's' voice break my concentration.
I sprayed out large icicles on my front and turned to my back to see my enemy. Before I could react, an arrow swooshed right in front of me and the nightmare vanished into sand once again.
A grateful smile grew on my face as I turn to Y/N, but it quickly disappeared as the former Guardian raises an immortal weapon to her.
"Look out!" I shout across the room as I rushed to her aid. But I was too late. Kyle smirked evilly and stabbed the poor girl without mercy.
I see L/N fall into her knees. Then Kyle grabs her bow and snaps in half. A cry of pain escapes her pale lips. I quickly shot an ice beam before he could do anymore damage.
"Y/N, you're going to be okay. Just hold on." I assured her.
Her eyes goes unfocused, and her body goes limp as the pain was too much for her to handle.
"Y/N!" I shouted.
I grabbed her form as I tried to shake her awake. But it was no use, she was out cold. Her skin turned paler as her scarlet blood tints the marble floors.
"Kyle, I think our jobs done here." Pitch smirked.
"Yeah..." Kyle agrees and floats on a black grainy cloud, "Until we meet again, Guardians."
With that, they disappeared, taking Y/N's bow with them.
I carried her form and rushed to where the others were. Multiple gasps escaped their mouths as they glanced at the girl in my arms.
"Jack! Y/N! What happened?" Tooth asked me. An ocean of worry and concern were within her eyes.
Tears brimmed her eyes as her hands find their way into her lips. North barked an order to bring her to her room and leave the rest to Sandy and North.
I followed North's orders without question. I flew straight up to her room and placed her gently on the mattress. Her blood quickly spreads through the clean white bed sheets. Sandy and North went into the room and locked the door shut.
Nothing was said between us for a moment as we waited helplessly as Y/N fought for her life.
Pain squeezed my heat as I reminisce about today's event. If only she hadn't used her arrow for me, she'd be alright. If only I hadn't been too ignorant of everything, she wouldn't have used that arrow for me. But a more terrifying thought came to me. What if she dies? What if she never wakes up? What is the Guardians blames me? What if... What if...
I placed my face to my hands as guilt eats me up. This is all my fault. I felt a lump building in my throat as my stomach churned and suddenly found it hard to breath.
"Mate...", Bunny placed a paw on my shoulder, "She's gonna be alright, you'll see. She's a strong Guardian."
I raised my face to meet his. His face was full of hope and determination but his eyes, they swam in a deep ocean of concern and worry.
"Why is she so dumb? She should've used that darn arrow for herself!!" I said with anger and guilt lacing my voice. My anger wasn't for Bunny nor for Y/N but for myself.
"And if she didn't save you, you would've been on a bed, laying unconscious. We need you here, safe and protected." Tooth said, "After all, Pitch wants you defeated as you were the reason for his downfall a hundred years ago."
Their effort to calm me down brought comfort to my beating heart. It was a relief that I had good friends.
"Thanks..." I said gratefully.
Tooth and Bunny simply nodded.
"Why don't you wash off in the bathroom?", Tooth suggested nervously, "It'll help you get your mind off of things."
"What do you mean?" I raised an eyebrow.
"You'll see..." Bunny said in an uneasy voice. His eyes shifted from me to the ground. Sadness and guilt swirling into his eyes.
I obliged without question and flew straight for the bathroom. As I closed the door behind me, my reflection frightened me a bit, Tooth was right, I looked like I just murdered someone. My blue frosted sweater was soaked in crimson blood. Blood was also on some parts of my brown trousers and my pale skin. My messy snow-white hair had bloody tips. So that was why I felt sticky and smelled blood nearby.
My heart sand as I gazed at my reflection. I now knew why the two Guardians felt uneasy around me, especially Bunny. His best friend's blood was all over his friend's body. I tried to wash off the blood but it seemed like it wasn't going to go away.
A lump formed in my throat as fresh tears rolled down my blood-stained cheeks. I sunk down to my knees as I covered my face in my hands, hoping that the poor Guardian that saved my life will be okay.

Your POV:
Focusing your arrow at Pitch, you released it with confidence, that without a doubt, you wouldn't miss him this time. But your eyes widened as its sharp tip pierced an unexpected someone.
Kyle runs in front of your aim, letting the poisoned piece go through his beating heart. A pain-filled emotion was plastered on his face as crimson blood spurts out of his mouth and wound. Tears build in your eyes as hurt sliced your heart. You could practically hear it breaking into pieces.
"Y/N..." A gasp escaped his mouth.
You stood in frozen in your spot. Horror and shock filled your system as you gazed upon the eyes of your dearest friend. You tempted to run to your fallen friend but your feet disobeyed you. They stuck into the ground as the scene unfolded before you. You watched as his form becomes limp and falls to the ground. His crimson blood decorating the ground below him.
Shock and pain strangled your heart as you lost conscious and fell into the darkness that pulled you in.
A blood-curling scream escaped your lips as you jolt awake. Tears ran down your cheeks, and beads of sweat was on your pale forehead.
The image of Kyle's death remained in your mind. Your hands and mouth quivered in fear as your (e/c) orbs roam around the room with fear and horror swirling within them. You let out uneven and scared breaths as your heart beat wildly inside your ribcage.
Suddenly the door comes crashing open. All four Guardians come rushing into the room. They had concerned and horror-stricken emotions plastered on their faces.
North turned to you and came rushing to you. As he stood 5 meters apart from you, you let out another blood-curling scream and more tears furiously stream down your face. You back away to the furthest part of your bed in fear while shaking your head.
You felt fluffy paws hold your shoulders firmly. The Easter Bunny gripped your shoulders with a very concerned face.
"It's okay. It's okay, Y/N. Just calm down..." Bunny said. It was a calm and collected voice but it didn't sooth your beating heart. In fact, instead of calming your heart, he just made it worse. Your heart quickened its beat and you started hyperventilating.
"No! Stay away from me!", You screamed, "...Please..." Tears streamed down your face in mercy. You didn't want to hurt anybody, anymore. You were scared, -- no you were terrified. The Guardians stood 6 feet away from you. They didn't have a clue on what to do.
Then Sandy floated towards you with his hands above and a gentle smile. He had a warm aura surrounding him that somehow made you calm a bit. He floated beside your bed and touched your hand gently. Golden dream sand surged through your veins as you felt your eyelids feel very heavy. Your body became limp and you felt yourself falling but a strong and cold body caught you before you could bump your head on the wooden head of the bed. The young Winter Guardian lay you down gently with a surprisingly warm smile. You then drifted off to the darkness that pulled you in.

North's POV:
"Good idea Sandy." I complimented my friend.
Sandy gave me a warm but sad smile. I watched as the Guardian of Fun stared at the unconscious Guardian.
"I wish I'd seen that horse." Jack said in a heartbroken voice.
"It's not your fault. We were outnumbered and Pitch was stronger." I replied, trying to comfort the poor guilt-ridden boy.
Sandy floated towards Jack and squeezed his hand. Bunny walked up to them and held his other hand, giving it a squeeze as well. Tooth flew graciously, and placed her hand on Jack's shoulder, and I walked up and placed my hand on his other shoulder.
Jack smiled a happy but sad smile.
"Thanks..." He muttered gratefully. We all looked at the poor unconscious girl, hoping and wishing her for one thing. To hold on.
