Lookism Ep 39, 40

Third POV

Some time had passed since the last incident and now all the students were talking about the upcoming tests that were to take place in the next few days. One of these students was having problems with his studies, and that was Daniel Park. He needed to do well in school, he didn't want to disappoint his mom. So, he went to the top student of his class; Jay Hong. 

Jay accepted Daniel's request to help him with his studies. All the girls in their classroom looked at them as they studied together. They had never noticed Jay before, but now that he was close to Daniel everyone took notice of how handsome Jay was. Daniel and Jay were too focused on the school material they were reviewing to notice a shadow come over them.

"Are you helping Daniel study, Jay?" Both of them looked up to see (Y/n).

"..." - Jay

"I thought we were going to study together~" - (Y/n)

"It's okay (Y/n). I can leave you two alone to study if you want." - Daniel

"Nah it's fine. I was just kidding. We can all study together!" (Y/n) said to the two of them with a smile, making both boys blush.

And that is how their study group came to be. After school Daniel would go to the library with Duke and Jiho. At the library they met Mira, Zack and Yui. Everyone was okay with the situation, well everyone except for Zack. Instead of studying in study groups, he wanted to spend some alone time with Mira, while Yui was trying to spend time with Zack. Across from them, in another table, was Vasco, Jace and other members of their group trying to study too.

"They are so noisy." - Jace

"Jace... Do you think our telepathy will work during the tests?" Vasco said, crying.

"It's not that hard." a voice said, scaring them. Looking back at where the voice came from, they saw (Y/n).

"You understand this?" - Jace

"Look here. The equation is 6 x 2 - (3 + 10)6. First you do the equation that is in the parentheses. Then you leave result of that as it is, to then do the symbols one by one; from left to right." - (Y/n)

"So, 3 + 10 = 13. Then it turns to 6 x 2 - 13 x 6." - Vasco

"That's correct. Then, what is the first symbol from left to right?" - (Y/n)

"Multiply. So first is 6 x 2, which is 12 then it turns to 12 - 13 x 6." - Vasco

"See? You're doing great. Now what happens next?" (Y/n) said, coming closer to Vasco and leaning over his shoulder.

"12 - 13?" - Vasco

"No. 13 x 6 comes first. Even if the subtraction symbol is first, the symbol of multiplying has more value." - (Y/n)

"So, 13 x 6 = 78. Making it 12 - 78." - Vasco

"And what is the result?" - (Y/n)

Vasco looked at her and then at the paper. He could do some of the basics, but not that much when it came to big numbers.

"It's okay if you use the calculator. We are not taking the test; we're just studying. But do you understand now?" - (Y/n)

"Y-yeah. I think I get it now." Vasco said looking down at his notebook. Blushing a bit, because of the proximity of the girl.

"Well, if you need any more help just call me. You have my number, right?" - (Y/n)

"Yeah." - Vasco

"I'll be leaving then. I've been here for a while now. Call me if you have more questions." (Y/n) said, leaving Vasco with his friends at the library. Vasco looked at the girl and so did Jace. 

'Just who is this girl.' - Jace

~Time Skip ~ Day After Tests~

The day of the tests had passed. For some students these exams seemed difficult to get through, while for others; it was easy. Today the teacher was to announce the scores of the tests. Daniel was feeling uneasy, for he had cheated in some way. This is because during the test-taking, he purposely fell asleep a few times in his new body so he could wake up at home in his old body and look over the material that was appearing on the exam. Once he woke up in his new body, sitting on his desk at school again, he would write down everything that he just read at home a few seconds ago. 

"Now to announce the top student." The teacher said, gaining the attention of all the students.

"The top student to score the highest grade goes to...."

Everyone was waiting to hear the results.

"(Y/n) (L/n)"

Once the name was announced, everybody turned around to look at the girl. (Y/n) was just sitting in her seat, unsurprised by the announcement. This is because she did not really care if she got the best mark or not. She had her left elbow on top of her desk and her head leaning against her hand. Then the teacher went on, telling the order of the rest of the students.

3. Jay Hong

And so on. Every girl was surrounding Daniel, praising him in his intelligence.

"Hey Daniel." the voice of (Y/n) caught Daniel's attention.

"Yeah?" - Daniel

"I guessed you studied very hard. I'm happy for you." - (Y/n) 

Daniel felt his heart clench. The words that (Y/n) said to him did not feel right to him. Even if he did work really hard, he still felt like he cheated in the tests. But Daniel promised himself from then on that he would do better, that he would work harder. Be it his mind and his body.
