How To Find A Cat
"He's gone! My precious baby is gone!"
Lindir sat down on a fallen log and cried into his hands.
Melwin, Luna, and Chole Ann glanced at each other.
"What now?"
Chole Ann asked.
"We could always get him a new cat."
Luna suggested.
"NO ONE CAN REPLACE THUNDERPUFF!"
Lindir shouted.
"No one is replacing Thunderpuff."
Melwin assured him.
"Promise?"
"Promise."
"Where do you think that crazy cat ran off to?"
Chole Ann asked.
"He's never left Rivendell before. He could be anywhere."
Lindir looked around hopelessly.
"Let's split up."
Luna suggested.
"Melwin and Chole Ann will search over there and Lindir and I will look over here. Alright?"
The others nodded in agreement and set off.
----
"Any luck?"
Melwin asked.
"Nope."
Chole Ann sighed.
"We're never going to find that cat."
"We can't give up!"
"He's a tiny black kitten in a huge dangerous world. The chances of us finding him are zero."
Melwin sighed.
"Yes. I know it's hopeless but we have to try right?"
Chole Ann and Melwin continued their search for ThunderPuff.
----
"Here kitty kitty kitty! Daddy has some tuna for you!"
"Uh... Lindir? That's not tuna."
"Really?"
Lindir held up the can he was holding.
"Then what is it?"
"Nothing you want to feed to your cat."
Luna took the can and tossed it into a bush.
"Why would ThunderPuff run away Luna? Is it something I'm doing wrong?"
"Cats are weird Lindir. One minute they love you, and the next they want to claw you're eyes out for no reason."
"But ThunderPuff isn't violent."
"Is there maybe another person he likes? Or a place he likes to go? Maybe that's where or why he ran off."
"Not that I know of. He's never liked Elrond, when the hobbits came he-"
Lindir suddenly jumped up and clapped his hands in excitement.
"The hobbits! ThunderPuff loved the hobbits!"
"Do you think he went to go find them?"
Luna asked.
"Only one way to find out. To the Shire!"
----
"Ok Kili. If we're going to get out of here alive, we must be very quiet."
Fili instructed his brother.
Kili nodded.
"Got it."
"Ok. I'll go first."
Fili cautiously stuck his head out of the cave they had been hiding in. He looked left, right, up, and down for any sign of the Fangirls.
"I think we're good. Let's go."
The two brothers tiptoes quietly through the mountains.
They kept expecting Fangirls to jump out at any moment.
Once they left the Misty Mountains they ran like the Balrog's of Morgoth were behind them.
"We did it Fili! We did it!"
"High five!"
Their celebration came to soon.
A lone Fangirl shriek sounded in the air.
The dwarves' faces turned pale.
They glanced at each other, and ran.
