Dory was a woman who lived by her schedule. But due to the small interruption it pushed her meeting with Ezekiel back, which in return pushed the rest of her meetings back in Hilltop back as well.
When the knights brought Dory back to the Kingdom, Alexis was waiting just inside the walls for the woman to make sure she was okay. When Dory was off the horse she was riding with one of the knights, Alexis threw her arms around the woman's waist. Dory sighed and hugged the girl back patting her back slowly. "I'm fine Alexis, please don't worry about me so much." Dory finally said stepping back from the girl and looking into her bright blue eyes. Alexis nodded not wanting to say anything just incase she overwhelmed herself with her own thoughts. "Come on, we're late." Dory said turning away from the girl and walking down one of the many roads in the Kingdom.
Dory wasn't a heartless person, and many knew it. But she knew not to show any weakness in a community that was not your own. If anything went south with their agreement, someone could easily use Alexis against Dory. Dory cared a lot about the people from Hilltop, there would always be a few she favoured. The brunette woman was set on raising the next generation to the best of her ability, so she would tend to spend extra time training teenagers in her community if they struggled at any point.
Alexis followed behind Dory without thinking about her actions. When they went anywhere for meetings in different communities, Alexis would stay right by Dory's side just incase. The women led the way to the old theatre, or as the people called it in the Kingdom - the throne room. "Do you think when you run the Hilltop you'll make a throne room?" Alexis asked curiously as they walked.
Dory looked to the girl out of the corner of her eye to find the teenager wasn't even looking in her direction. Instead she was gazing at the tree's that sheltered the pathway from the harsh sun. "What makes you think I would run the Hilltop?" Dory asked, shaking her head trying to grasp the thought. "But no. I would never have a throne room." she added in, to feed the girls imagination.
"Well, if it wasn't for gregory, everyone would want you to lead us. People talk y'know." Alexis replied as they came to the old theatre. Dory pulled open the door and let the girl go in before her. What she said couldn't help but make Dory get stuck on one thought... people wanted her to run the Hilltop? She followed in foot with Alexis and they walked into the theatre room where Ezekiel sat on a large throne chair atop the old stage. "Ah there she is, my strong little warrior and her apprentice." Eziekel said with outstretched hands.
Dory pulled a large fake smile onto her face. "How are things, King Ezekiel?" Dory asked, bowing her head towards the man slightly. Anything would be better than the first time Jesus introduced Dory to the king, and the kingdom as a whole.
"What? A king? During the end of the world you're worried about a title like King?" Dory scoffed making the man beside her wince. "You all except me to bow down to a man that not only refers to himself as a king, but on top of that sits on an old theatre prop!" she exclaimed.
"You will refer to the king as such, and speak to him with respect!" the man from beside the king exclaimed, making the teenage boy with dirty blonde hair on the kings other side wince. "That's enough Jerry." the king finally spoke, leaning forward in his chair. He was intrigued by the women, and she was more intrigued with the tiger that laid by the mans feet. "That's a big house cat." Dory added in, taking her eyes off the large animal and looking to the king.
The room fell silent after her comment, everyone held their breath. That was until the king started to laugh. "You're a warrior, Dorothy. I can see it in your eyes. You don't need to call me king, but I would hope one day we can get to that point." he said, his voice kind. Dory had no clue who would ever want to be called a king in a time like this - but she would learn to accept a lot of the mans quirks.
"You know how things go in the Kingdom dear, it's been calm." Ezekiel replied making Dory nod, a satisfied grin on her face. "Now that the pleasantries are over, lets discuss what you came here for Dory. Your favourite part." the king said making the women chuckle.
"Ben, keep Alexis company please." Ezekiel said with a motion of his hand. The dirty blonde haired boy looked to the light brunette girl. He's been silently crushing on her ever since she first came to the Kingdom with her brother over a year ago. "Take her to see the Kingdom, take her to the apple tree's perhaps." the king said, watching how Dory responded to this. When she showed no signs of discomfort, the king sent the two awkward teens on their way to explore.
Dory sat herself on a chair on the stage, and turned to the man once the teenagers were out of the theatre. "Now, my dear friend, how do we take down this enemy?" Ezekiel asked making Dory smirk. "Before we take him down, we're going to need more hands and gun power. But I think I found the perfect opportunity." This caught the kings attention.
"Ezekiel, I need you to help me find my brother."
