Chapter 1
Our story begins on a winters night in the city of London. Lestat was on the hunt for his next meal. He walked the streets without the mortals around him even noticing him.
"Up to your old tricks again Lestat?" A voice asked. Lestat turned around to see an old friend. One who only recently had shown back up in his life.
"I am trying to catch my meal if you don't mind." Lestat said to his friend. His friend only chuckled. "Mind if I join you?" He asked.
"If you must Louis." Lestat sneered. These two had never had the best history. Louis hated Lestat for turning him into an immortal. Lestat hated Louis because he'd tried to kill him.
But there comes a point when hate gets to be a tired game. Eternity can be lonely when you spend it alone. That's exactly how Lestat felt. Alone.
It would seem he was destined to be alone. He would never admit to being lonely though. He feared it would hurt his pride.
He was thrown out of his thoughts by a shrill scream. He turned his head to see a girl being attacked in an alley. "Looks like we've just found our meal." He said to Louis.
Lestat grabbed the man by the throat. "You dare treat a lady like that?" He snapped before sinking his teeth into the mans neck.
The warm liquid felt like heaven as it poured into his mouth. A cool drink of water to a parched mouth. Louis rushed over to the girl.
"Madame are you alright? Can you hear me?" He asked cupping her cheeks. The girl had stains on her face from crying.
She buried her face into Louis's chest. "Shhh it's ok. He can't harm you anymore." He said trying to sooth her crying.
'I have to kill her. She's seen too much.' Lestat thought to himself. But when he made eye contact with her he froze.
Her eyes were clear like the ocean and shined like diamonds. Her long black hair framed her face perfectly. She was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen.
Before the girl could say anything else she fainted. "We should take her home." Lestat said taking her out of Louis's arms.
"Are you sure that's wise?" Louis asked. "She needs help and I'm going to help her!" Lestat snapped. "Now if you want to make yourself useful come with me." He said before taking off into the dark night.
(Lestat Pov)
I laid the girl down on my bed. My god she's beautiful. I carefully moved a strand of hair out from her face. Her skin was so soft.
"Is she alright?" Louis asked. "I believe so yes." I said calmly. That's the calmest I've spoken to Louis all night.
I continued to stare at the sleeping girl. I longed to know her name. I longed to know her in general.
What am I saying?! I'm a vampire. A cold blooded killer. Shadow of the night! I care about no one other than me.
Or do I? Could I really have feelings for this mortal? I barely know her! How could I have caught feelings for here.
After all she's just a mortal. Time will wither her until she's nothing but bones. There's nothing I could possibly offer her.
There was a pain in my chest. If I was human I'd think I was having a heart attack. Ohhh what was this feeling?!
I wanted it to end. "Lestat are you alright?" Louis asked me. "No! I've got this pain in my chest and it won't go away!" I said.
Louis only smiled at me. "You think this is funny you smug bastard?!" I asked angrily. He shook his head.
"Well what is it then? Spit it out!" I demanded. "Your in love Lestat." He said with that damned smile.
I scoffed at him. "Your still the same fool you were when I fist met you." I said coldly.
"And your still the same heartless fend you've always been." Louis said. "The one and only." I said proudly.
No one could change who I am. Many have tired and failed miserably. It was always a good laugh for me.
But perhaps this time would be different. I tried so hard to repress my feelings of loneliness but it is beginning to consume me.
Maybe I do have feelings for this mortal. When she wakes up I'll get to know her more.
Who knows? Maybe she will be the one who changes me. Or this could all end horribly. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.
